OuiPlease Vol. 2.5: Winter in France

The OuiPlease is a box full of Parisian treasures that ships 6 times a year. The price of the box is quite high at $150 per shipment. You can also subscribe yearly for $650 bringing the price of the box down to $108. Per the OuiPlease website your special delivery will feature a surprise selection of products, including the very best France has to offer in beauty, jewelry, accessories, apparel, home and epicure and have a value of at least $300.

Every now and then they have a 20% off code that can be used on yearly subscriptions and brings the price down to $520 or $87 a box. The catch is you have to pay the full amount upfront which is a lot to shell out for a subscription box.

Price: $108-$150 every two months depending on subscription commitment.

The Good:

Luxury products: The boxes are filled with name brands that would be considered luxurious.

Variety: This box isn't just beauty products. It will have jewelry, apparel, home goods, etc.

Information: They include their own magazine that talks about the products in the box as well as other products.

Pricing Structure: They offer one-time, monthly or yearly subscriptions. It would be nice to see a 6 month (3 box) subscription tier.

The Not So Good

Price: The price is way high but at the same time you will hopefully get what you pay for.

Referrals: I would like to see a referral program. If you can convince someone to spend this much money on a box you should get a little thank you treasure.

OuiPlease Vol. 2.5: Winter in France

Contents of the Volume 2.5 OuiPlease Box:

Les Néréides Paris Pink Flower Bracelet. Value = $60.00

Christophe Robin Regenerating Mask. Value = $25.00

Marie Bouvero Dark Chocolate Bar. Value = $10.00

la cocotte French mug Value $15.00

Pop Up Paris Candle. Value - $35.00

The value of this box is $369.00. I really do enjoy the OuiPlease box. It comes with products that I don't see here in the US. I'm sure I can find them but they aren't readily available at my local Ulta. I love the bracelet in this months box and I'm super happy I got the flower one. The mug is really cute but I have so many coffee mugs right now they don't fit in my cupboard. I was excited about the wrinkle cream because of the value but honestly I don't have wrinkles yet. I wonder if wrinkle cream is something you can use as a preventative? The Christophe Robin products seem very high end and luxurious. It immediately makes me want to take a bath and pamper myself.

Verdict: I was hoping to get the pouch in this box but I'm happy with the bracelet and other goodies to try.

The total value of the of the Play! box is over $18.00. I say over because I couldn't read the size of the clinique product to figure out the price and I didn't look up the amore pacific. I'm actually pretty excited about this box. The bag is different than what they normally send but I have a Caribbean trip coming up and I'm totally packing my sun goodies in this bag. I love the color of clinique almost lipstick. My hair will definately need a treatment after fun in the Caribbean sun. The tarte stick is different. I would never have guessed it was a exfoliating face cleanser. I can't wait to try it.

Verdict: This months bag was a hit for me.

I had canceled this box awhile back but it was expensive considering I wasn't using a lot of the items. I couldn't resist starting it up again when I saw a black Friday deal last month. I ended up getting a 3 month subscription for about $64.

The value of this box is $186.73. The value of this box is excellent. The box contents were ok. The only thing I know I will use for sure is the hair wrap, tea and resurfacing peel. The face product is worth the price of the box alone so I'm cook with that. I'm not a fan of desk calendars. I just don't use them. This one also doubles as printed note cards. I might use those. I like the idea of the sticky notes but I don't know that I will actually use them.

Verdict: This months PopSugar had some great face product I'm excited to try.

January Love with Food - Tasting Box

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box filled with food. They offer a tasting size box and a deluxe size box. I had been a subscriber to the deluxe size box but the values were consistently low so I canceled that subscription. The tasting box is $9.99 a month and contains about 8 snacks in the box.

Price: $9.99 a month with a discount for 6 and 12 month plans. No option to skip.

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from Santa Clara, California.

The good:

Variety: You get a lot of variety in each box.

The not so good:

I really can't think of anything I don't like about this box.

I'm always looking for a good protein powder and I'm hoping the Aloha is as good as it sounds. The Dave's toffee was phenomenal! Highly recommend!

Verdict:  This Love with Food box had some yummy items in it.

January Target Beauty Box #2

It used to be that every now and then Target put together a box of goodies and offered them for $5-$10.00 each. It seems they are coming more frequently now but it's still available on a first come first serve basis. Once they go on sale they are sold on a first come first serve basis and they sell out quick! The other nice thing about this box is they tell you what you are getting prior to ordering. This box was priced at $5.00 with shipping included.

The Good:

Price: You can't beat the price!

Contents: They tell you what's in the box before you order.

Like the products: They even include a coupon for $3 off a purchase at Target.

The Not So Good:

Goes Fast: This sells out super fast so you have to order quick.

Random: The boxes have no set schedule so you never know when they are going to be available.

I was excited about this box because it was full of items I will use. I don't have curly hair but I'm going to try the quick curl product because my stylist told me I have some wave to my hair and product will help.

Verdict: I liked this box and I liked the $5.00 price.

January Robb Vices Box

Robb Vices is a monthly subscription box focused on exceptional products, food, accessories, etc. Each box is curated and comes with a booklet that tells the story of the items in the box. This box is for those who enjoy the finer things and appreciate the history or story behind it. I only say that because this box is not inexpensive. The price is $74.95 per month plus shipping. I subscribe to the Robb Report and very much enjoy reading it. If you subscribe to the magazine the offer a discount on the box. I researched previous boxes and liked what I saw so I subscribed.

Price: $74.95 per month plus shipping w/discounts for 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions.

The Good:

Products: The products are high end, artisan and great quality.

Information: The include booklet is a wealth of information on the products.

Referral Program: Refer 3 friends and get a free box.

Alcohol: Sometimes they include alcohol which I'm a big fan of.

The Not So Good:

Price: The price is high for a monthly box of surprise items.

Auto-Renew. I don't care much for auto-renew especially on a box with a high price tag.

January  Robb Vice Box

Radice Apothecary Products

Contents of the Robb Vices Box:

Misfit Ray Fitness & Sleep Tracker. Value = $99.99

Nomader Sports Bottle. Value = $24.95

Brode Electrolyte Vitamins. Value = $24.97

The YES Bar Company Macadamia Nut Bar. Value = $3.49

Radice Apothecary Orange Blossom Water. Value = $50.00

Radice Apothecary Black Currant Facial Cream. Value = $75.00

Apotheke Binchotan Charcoal Candle. Value = $36.00

The total value of this box is $314.40.

Verdict: I still love the Robb Vices box. Misfit Ray? What is Misfit Ray? It's a fitness tracker. I've used the Nike band and a couple of different fitbits but ultimately they didn't really last long for me. The products worked fine but I didn't like being tied to my fitness tracker so I wasn't too excited about this item. Next was the water bottle and again I wasn't too excited since I have LOTS of water bottles BUT then I read the box. This water bottle can be rolled up, perfect for travel AND it can hold hot liquids AND you can put it in the freezer AND it has a lifetime warranty! What?!? That's incredible. I'm a fan of this bottle. The Brode vitamins are advertised as electrolytes for fitness but they also are great when drinking to reduce hangovers. Yep that will be coming with me on vacation. I'm excited to try the Radice products, they sound so fancy and luxurious. I'm not too sure about the candle. It's very strong musky smelling. Not really my thing.

Verdict: I still love the Robb Vices box.

January ipsy bag - Metropolis

ipsy sends out a glam bag with 4-5 samples and a makeup bag for $10 a month with shipping included. If you sign up yearly it's $110 which brings the price down the $9.16 a month with shipping included.  I've been with them since 2011 and this is one subscription I am for sure keeping. They constantly have a high product value with products that I use.

Price: $10 a month with no option to skip. Discount offered for a yearly subscription.

This subscription is available to the US and Canada and ships from Harrisburg, NC.

***I have 2 invites for a free glam bag. It's for first time subscribers only!***

The good:

The samples: Usually you get at least one full size product in each bag.

The packaging: Each month the products come in a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

Discounts: The almost always offer a discount on any additional purchases you want to make.

Semi-customized: You take a little quiz and your bag is semi-customized with products you will enjoy.

The not so good:

Skip a month? There is no option to skip a month.  You have to cancel.

Renewal. If your a yearly subscriber they automatically charge your credit card for another year when the paid for year is up. I think they should sent out an email prior reminding you that your year is almost up and it will automatically renew.

January ipsy bag.

Contents of ipsy bag w/approximate value:

FULL SIZE Pretty Woman nail polish in "I can't deal". Value = $7.99

FULL SIZE Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Lipgloss in "Method to the Madness". Value = $22.00

.25 oz. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream. Value = $9.75

SL Miss Glam Blend Beauty Brush L34. Value = $13.50

1.02 oz 417 Hand Moisturizer.  Value = $5.67

metallic blue makeup bag inspired by skyscrapers.

The approximate value of this months bag is approximately $58.91. I'm not as excited about the ipsy bags as I once used to be. I feel like I'm getting a lot of duplicate items from all the subscription bags. I like beauty brushes but I have quite the collection now and I don't need anymore. I'm not a fan of this nail color, it's kind of blah and boring. If you have a conservation job then it has it's place. I looked at all the colors of the Trust Fund lipgasm colors and there are a ton of others colors I would liked to have tried. I will use the BB cream and the hand moisturizer.

Verdict: Even though I will only use half the items in this bag. I'm happy with the items I will use and it's totally worth the price.

January mightyFIX

Contents of the MightyFix box:

Enviro Products Stainless Steel food container. Value = $14.99

The total value of this box is $14.99. I have been wanting to try these containers for awhile but resisted because I have so many food storage containers already. The only bummer about this is that it's not leak proof. The bonus is it doesn't stain and it's dishwasher safe.

Verdict: I'm still very happy with this subscription.

December Robb Vices box

Robb Vices is a monthly subscription box focused on exceptional products, food, accessories, etc. Each box is curated and comes with a booklet that tells the story of the items in the box. This box is for those who enjoy the finer things and appreciate the history or story behind it. I only say that because this box is not inexpensive. The price is $74.95 per month plus shipping. Price: $74.95 per month plus shipping w/discounts for 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions.

The Good:

Information: The include booklet is a wealth of information on the products.

Referral Program: Refer 3 friends and get a free box.

Alcohol: Sometimes they include alcohol which I'm a big fan of.

The Not So Good:

Price: The price is high for a monthly box of surprise items.

Auto-Renew. I don't care much for auto-renew especially on a box with a high price tag.

Contents of the Robb Vices Box:

Doc Herson's Red Absinthe. Value = $15.00

Doc Herson's Green Absinthe. Value = $15.00

Fiol Prosecco. Value = $18.89

Fatty Sundays Peppermint Chocolate Covered Pretzels. Value = $7.00

Schatzii Bullet Bluetooth Earpiece. Value = $150.00

The total value of this box is $205.89. The hero item of this box is the blue tooth earpiece. At first I was kind of bummed because I already have Bose bluetooth earphones and Bose wired earbuds. I didn't figure I would have a use for this. After thinking about it for awhile I think I do have a use for it. I like to listen to podcasts and I would like to listen to them while grocery shopping but I don't want to wear my headphones or have wires hanging from my ears. This is the perfect solution! It keeps one ear open so I can hear if someone talks to me but I can still listen to my podcast. Perfect! We drank the prosecco on new years eve and it was quite tasty. The chocolate covered pretzels were gone the first week and didn't make it to new years eve. I haven't had an opportunity to try the absinthe yet, I'll be honest I'm a little afraid.

Verdict: I still love the Robb Vices box.
