September ispy bag - Like.A.Boss

ipsy sends out a glam bag with 4-5 samples and a makeup bag for $10 a month with shipping included. If you sign up yearly it's $110 which brings the price down the $9.16 a month with shipping included.  I've been with them since 2011 and this is one subscription I am for sure keeping. They constantly have a high product value with products that I use.

Price: $10 a month with no option to skip. Discount offered for a yearly subscription.

This subscription is available to the US and Canada and ships from Harrisburg, NC.

**I have 5 invites for a free ipsy bag. This is for new subscribers only**

The good:

The samples: Usually you get at least one full size product in each bag.

The packaging: Each month the products come in a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

Discounts: The almost always offer a discount on any additional purchases you want to make.

Semi-customized: You take a little quiz and your bag is semi-customized with products you will enjoy.

Points: You can earn points for reviews and referrals. You can redeem points for extra goodies in your bag.

The not so good:

Skip a month? There is no option to skip a month.  You have to cancel.

Renewal. If your a yearly subscriber they automatically charge your credit card for another year when the paid for year is up. I think they should sent out an email prior reminding you that your year is almost up and it will automatically renew.

September ipsy bag

Contents of ipsy bag w/approximate value:

.16oz. Pixi by Petra Fresh Face Blush in BeachRose. Value = $8.00?

.5oz. LXMI Créme Du Nil moisturizer. Value = $24.00

.25oz. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in Radiance. Value = $9.75

.18oz. Ciaté Wonderland mascara. Value = $12.43

.02oz. Elizabeth Mott Pop! Goes the Shadow in Toasted  Value = $3.94

Textured spike makeup bag in black.

The approximate value of this months bag is approximately $58.12. The LXMI must be some fancy moisturizer because it's pretty expensive. I'm looking forward to trying everything in this bag except the blush because I don't use blush. I like the color of the eyeshadow. The smashbox primer in this color is also new to me and I'm been experimenting with foundation primers lately.

Verdict: I'm very happy with this bag.

Quarterly Co. - Mixed Up

Quarterly Co. is a slightly different kind of subscription box company.  The way it works is you pick a contributor you would like to receive a curated gift from anywhere from $50-$100 and every 3 months you will receive your item in the mail from them.  With each gift you receive the story behind it. This subscription is for the Culinary box. Each shipment is curated by a different person in the food field.

This months box featured editors of the book "Mixed Up", Nick Mamatas and Molly Tanzer.

Price $75 every 3 months.

The good:

Variety: There are lots of different curators to choose from.

Something different: This is definitely different from other subscription companies

Commitment issues? Don't want to make a monthly commitment but still want a treasure?  You can get a quarterly treasure.

The not so good:

Don't like waiting: If you don't like waiting this may be torture for you.

Quarterly Co. Culinary Box

Contents of box with approximate retail price:

Mixed Up exclusive annotated edition. Value = $14.97

Liber & Co. Real Grenadine. Value = $10.00

Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. Vermouth Brined Olives. Value = $14.00

Royal Rose Natural Cocktail Syrup. Value = $8.00

Fabbri's Amarena Wild Cherries in Syrup. Value = $6.95

Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. Aromatic Bitters. Value = $12.00

The approximate value of this box is $65.92. I was pretty excited about this box. One of my goals this year was to try as many different cocktails as possible. When we travel we always bring back alcohol that is specific to that area of the world or something we can get in USA. Now we have quite the alcohol collection and I need some inspiration for drinks. The Mixed Up book isn't even out yet so that's pretty exciting AND it has sticky notes throughout that won't be in the store version. Everything in this box is great except the olives. I'm not a fan of olives and especially not green olives. The boyfriend likes them though so they won't go to waste.

Verdict: This box has great bar theme. I can't wait to start mixing!

Fall FabFitFun box

FabFitFun is not a monthly subscription but quarterly. Each season you will receive hand-picked, high-end and exclusive gifts including beauty, fashion and fitness products. The items are full sized and premium with a value of $200+. The cost of this box is $49.99 billed every 3 months.

Price: $49.99 every 3 months. Discount of $20 for yearly subscription.

This subscription in available in the US only and ships from Los Angeles, Ca.

The good:

The Products: You will receive mostly full size and premium products in each box and not just beauty items.

The Brands: They send well known premium brands

Quarterly: This is nice because monthly boxes can cause overload.

Info: They send newspaper of sorts with all the product information, interviews and other fun things to read.

The not so good:

Price: The price is a sticker shock, but it's only 4 times a year as opposed to monthly.

FabFitFun Box

Contents of the FabFitFun box with approximate retail price/value:

Mer-Sea & Co. Scarf. Value = $98.00

Private Party Gym bag. Value = $59.00

IMM Living Wire Heart Ceramic Jewelry holderValue = $33.00

Deco Miami Lavender Cuticle Oil. Value = $12.50

Whish Beauty Renewing Mud Mask. Value = $48.00

My TagAlongs Hot & Cold Gel Pack. Value = $15.00

Trestique Matte coco & Shiny Lip Crayon in Tuscan wine. Value = $28.00

Molr Dental Club Organic Carbon + Coconut teeth whitening powder and toothbrush. Value = $43.95

The Jetset Diaries Cable Knit Beanie. Value $49.00

FreshCare Flushable Cleaning Cloths. Value = $1.00

The total value of the summer FabFitFun box is $387.45. I love the scarf in this seasons box! I read somewhere they suggest washing it before using it because it sheds. My other favorite item is the hot/cold gel pack. I know most people probably won't like it but we use these packs all the time in my house. I think I'm going to see if I can trade for a couple of more so we can keep one in the freezer. I got to pick the color beanie I wanted but I don't wear beanies so I'll probably trade it. I'm very curious about the carbon toothpaste. I like the idea of it being natural but I hope it doesn't taste icky. I'm a big fan of cuticle oil. I can't stand any dry parts around my nail beds so I try and use cuticle oil a few times a week, usually before bed. The gym bag is cute but I have so many gym bags I won't use this one. It would make a great gift though. I love the shade of lip crayon I received and the magnetic top is so cool!

Verdict: Overall this quarters box was great and well worth the money!

August Robb Vices Box

Robb Vices is a monthly subscription box focused on exceptional products, food, accessories, etc. Each box is curated and comes with a booklet that tells the story of the items in the box. This box is for those who enjoy the finer things and appreciate the history or story behind it. I only say that because this box is not inexpensive. The price is $89.95 per month plus shipping. I subscribe to the Robb Report magazine and very much enjoy reading it. If you subscribe to the magazine they offer a discount on the box. I researched previous boxes and liked what I saw so I subscribed.

Price: $74.95 per month plus shipping w/discounts for 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions.

The Good:

Products: The products are high end, artisan and great quality.

Information: The include booklet is a wealth of information on the products.

Referral Program: Refer 3 friends and get a free box.

Alcohol: Sometimes they include alcohol which I'm a big fan of.

The Not So Good:

Price: The price is high for a monthly box of surprise items.

Auto-Renew. I don't care much for auto-renew especially on a box with a high price tag.

Contents of the Robb Vices Box:

Dirocco Carbon Fiber Eyewear in The Pennman. Value = $400?

Lillie's Q Ivory Sauce. Value = $8.00

Lillie's Q Gold Sauce. Value = $8.00

Kozlik's Horseradish mustard. Value = $6.00

Beekman 1802 Hello Sunshine Mineral Sunscreen. Value = $22.00

The total value of this box is about $444.00. The hero item in this months box are the sunglasses. They are limited edition and currently only available to Robb Vice member. Once they produce them for sale they will only make 500 of them. I really wanted to like these glasses but they are sooo not me. Since they aren't available for sale yet I had to guess on the price based on their other sunglasses. I've tried the Lillie's Q in other boxes but I think I only tried the ivory sauce. As I recall I used it for coleslaw but I didn't care much for it. I also saw you can use it as a marinade so I might try that next time. I'm pretty excited about the mustard. I checked out the Kozlik's website and it's a mustard lovers paradise!

***If you love these glasses you can get them free w/a 3 month subscription by using the code SUNSHINE***

Verdict: This Robb Vices box just ok. The hero item wasn't for me.

MightyFIX has given me three more invites to share. I will update this post when they are spoken for.

The Good:

Full Size: The items sent are NOT samples. They are full size items and things that are sold in their online shop.

Donation: 15% of every purchase, including the subscription box goes back to a school of your choice.

Gift: Need a gift? They offer 3, 6, or 12 months subscriptions.

The Not So Good:

You might end up with a product you don't need.

September MightyFIX box

Contents of the MightyFix box:

thinksport Everyday face Sunscreen. Value - $12.99

The total value of this box is $12.99. I'm always a fan of sunscreen and I will be traveling to Jamaica soon. This is the good stuff with zinc oxide it it which gives amazing coverage. Usually it's pretty thick and I haven't opened this yet but I'm hoping it's not super thick since it's made for you face.

Verdict: I'm still very happy with this subscription.

September Macy's Beauty Box

Macy's recently stepped into the beauty box game with their own monthly beauty bag. Each month Macy's will send 5 deluxe beauty samples, one bonus item, a $5 off coupon in a makeup bag. I was anxious to try this box since I knew it would have beauty products that Macy's carries.

Price: $15 a month w/shipping included. Ships to 48 states excluding Alaska and Hawaii.

The Good:

Brands: Department store brands.

Makeup bag: Comes with a makeup bag every month.

Information: They provide a card with all the product info on it.

The Not So Good:

Skip: You can't skip a month. If you want to skip you have to cancel.

Price: I think the price is a little high.

.68oz. Ahava Purifying Mud Mask. Value = $7.58

.5oz. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Radiance. Value = $11.50

.3oz. Burt's Bees Hand Salve. Value = $1.00

.09oz. Vince Camuto Ciao parfum. Value = $2.30

.21oz. Clinique Moisture Surge. Value = $3.80

.18oz. Dermablend Loose Setting Powder. Value = $5.00

Makeup bag with travel theme.

The approximate value of this debut Macy's Beauty Box is $30.68. I can't believe the months value was lower than last months? The products are great but there are other beauty bags that cost less with these same types of products. I was super excited about the makeup bag. Travel is my thing and I need to get my hands on more of these bags! I've been using the Dermablend powder from another box and I really like it so getting another container was great. The other stuff if cool and I'll use it but it's nothing that I haven't seen in other boxes.

Verdict: I'm going to give this bag one more shot. If next month doesn't knock it out of the park I'm going to have to give it the axe.

September Graze Box - 8 snack packs

Graze sends out a box of four snack size containers of dried fruit, nuts, crackers, dip and dippers, etc.  The boxes are semi-customizable meaning you don't actually get to pick which items you want but you can rate the items you receive from love to never send me this again.  The cost of the box is $11.99 per shipment. You can also choose how often you want the boxes. I have mine set up for every four weeks.

Price: $11.99 per 8 pack shipment or $6.99 per 4 pack. This subscription ships to the US only, except Hawaii and Alaska.

Use Code: ANISHA6PP and get your 1st and 5th Box Free!

The good:

Like Snacks: Are you a snacker like me?  These are perfectly proportioned snack size containers.

Nutritional info: The include nutritional info in each box. It's on the card in the package though, not the actual product which is kind of a bummer.

Skip: You can do this online through your account and it's super easy.

Semi-customizable: You rate items and that's how they choose which items to send you.

Special Diet or preference: You can choose from high protein, low carb, low sugar, low calories, savory, sweet treats, etc.

Gift: This is a great gift for a college student. I just send one to the teenager because she is always raiding our stash when she comes over.

The not so good:

Price: The costs ends up being $1.50 per package.  You're paying for convenience but I gotta be honest it was super convenient to pick up a pack and throw it in my lunch bag.

Contents of box:

Raspberry Muffin.

Salted Fudge & Peanut Cookie.

Banana Caramel Dippers.

Fantastic Forest Fruits.

Baobab & Raspberry Clusters.

Pumpkin Spice Flapjacks.

Sweet Memphis Barbecue.

Veggie Caesar.

Verdict: I'm really like my Graze boxes for convenient portable snacks.
