August ipsy bag - Good Vibes Only

ipsy sends out a glam bag with 4-5 samples and a makeup bag for $10 a month with shipping included. If you sign up yearly it's $110 which brings the price down the $9.16 a month with shipping included.  I've been with them since 2011 and this is one subscription I am for sure keeping. They constantly have a high product value with products that I use.

Price: $10 a month with no option to skip. Discount offered for a yearly subscription.

This subscription is available to the US and Canada and ships from Harrisburg, NC.

The good:

The approximate value of this months bag is approximately $59.46.  This bag rarely disappoints. The only thing I'm not super excited about is the nail polish because I have so many. I'm on the fence about the eyeliner also but only because I have so many. I've been using finishing powder lately so I was happy to see that in my bag. I also like the little balm cosmetics eyeshadows.

Verdict: I'm very happy with this bag.

The total approximate value of the of the Play! box is $31.51. This bag was going to be the deciding factor on whether I kept this subscription. This months bag was ok for me but the 2 main items aren't things I would use. I do like the perfumes and the bum bum cream is interesting.

Verdict: This months was just ok. It has good value but I 've decided to cancel my subscription.

August GlossyBox

GlossyBox is a monthly subscription box for beauty items. Each month GlossyBox will send a box of 5 beauty products in a pink reusable box. Verdict: This box was a great box for me.

August Love with Food - Tasting box

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box filled with food. They offer a tasting size box and a deluxe size box. I had been a subscriber to the deluxe size box but the values were consistently low so I canceled that subscription. The tasting box is $9.99 a month and contains about 8 snacks in the box.

Price: $9.99 a month with a discount for 6 and 12 month plans. No option to skip.

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from Santa Clara, California.

The good:

Variety: You get a lot of variety in each box.

Discounts: You can earn points for discounts off future full size product purchases by submitting reviews on their website or referring new members.

The not so good:

I really can't think of anything I don't like about this box.

August Love with Food Tasting Box

Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouch.

Prince of Peace Ginger Honey Crystals.

Glee Gum

Barney Butter Smooth Almond Butter.

Westminster Cracker Whole Wheat Hearty Crackers.

Belgian Boys Mini Dutch Stroopwafel.

(2) Prince of Peace Ginger Candies

I didn't do a breakdown of this box. If you look at my previous reviews they usually come in at the $8-$10 range. This box is just a great box if you like snacks and trying new snacks. I've discovered quite a few things that we now purchase because of these boxes. Also LWF makes it easy because you can order direct from their website.

Verdict:  This Love with Food box had some yummy items in it.

The Allure Beauty Boxes are PACKED with tons of stuff for a low price. The products range from drug store to salon products and are a great deal.

The Allure boxes are seasonal and this fall box was priced at $59.95 plus $10 shipping for a total of $69.95. The also tell you what's in the box before you buy so you know what you're getting. Basically if there is $70 worth of products you will use it's totally worth it. This box said it was valued at over $250!

You could also buy a year subscription upfront for $199.00 plus $10 shipping per box. The total was $240 for 4 boxes which is $10 less per box if bought separately.

The total value of the Allure Fall 2017 Beauty Box is $311.56. Not a bad value for a $60 investment. The first thing I noticed was all the new items. The last box was a little disappointed because of all the repeat items in the box. This box on the other hand is full of new items to try. There are lots of brands in this box that are totally new to me which will be fun to try. The fun item in the box was the caboodles bag. I remember when Caboodles came out in the 80's, and I'm dating myself here because this year is Caboodles 30th anniversary! When they first came out they were so fun because the cases came in tons of colors and different shapes and you could customize them with your own nameplate. My name is not common so anytime I can customize I get excited. I opened the makeup bag and was super excited to see you can still get a customized nameplate for your caboodles by sending in a couple of bucks. I think I gave away all but one of my caboodles cases which makes me sad now but you can't hold on to everything forever I guess.

Verdict: Overall I'm still happy with this box. It's breaks down to about $2.50 per item and that's a bargain!

August BeautyFIX box

The BeautyFIX by Dermstore is a monthly subscription box for beauty items. Each month Dermstore will send out a BeautyFIX box filled with skin care, makeup and hair care with a value of at least $100. The price on the website shows $34.95 but if you sign up for a monthly subscription the price is $24.95. Both prices include shipping.

Price: $24.95-$34.95 a month with no option to skip.

Ships to US only, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico additional shipping charges apply.

The good:

Price: They send great products with a value of at least $100 that's 3-4 times the price of the box.

Want more: Since they have a retail website reordering is easy and all these products were easily found.

Referrals: If you refer someone that person gets $10 off a purchase of $30 or more and you get $10.

Discount: They offer a discount if you want to purchase an item from your box.

The not so good:

Price: This is one of the higher priced subscriptions but the products are usually high end.

Skip: Their website is not user friendly.  I couldn't find an option to skip or cancel.

Products: You are likely to end up with products you won't use. The good news is the value is so high it's usually still a good value.

Referrals: It's not a clickable link for referrals. You have to send an invite via email.

August BeautyFIX Box

Contents of BeautyFIX w/approximate retail price from Dermstore listed:

7 pack Keranique Daily Essential Supplements . Value = $11.43

Perricone MD Superberry Powder w/Acai. Value = $2.50

Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser. Value = $22.00

Foreo Luna Play. Value = $39.00

.18oz. Dermablend Loose Setting Powder. Value = $5.00

DCL Power Kit. Value = $40.67

The total approximate value of of this BeautyFIX box is $120.60. The value of this box is great but I'm not too excited by the products. I was so excited to try the Luna Play when I received it in a previous box but was quite disappointed by it. I preferred my konjac sponge and thought it did a better job, plus the battery on the luna doesn't last too long. I like juice beauty products but I already have a bottle of the blemish clearing cleanser that I don't use. I was pretty excited by the dermablend powder but that's only a $5.00 item. The other items are just extras for me to try, not exciting but new to me.

Verdict: This was not a great box for me.

PupBox - Customized monthly puppy box

PupBox is very helpful monthly subscription box to help you with the new fur pup babies in your life. This is straight from the PupBox website because I couldn't say it better myself "Each month you and your baby will receive a box filled with all of the toys, treats, accessories and training information you need to be the best puppy parent pawsible! Everything is customized, and will grow with your pup, changing based on your baby's changing needs" You will get training guides, treats, toys, chews, and accessories.

PupBox offered to send me a complementary box to review. The only issue was my pup isn't exactly a puppy anymore, in fact she is about 10 years old. No worries though! They sent me a 2 month old box kit which had plenty of items for Maddie to enjoy.

Price: $39.00 a month with discounted pricing for 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions

Bonus! Use this code ELAT10 for 10% off any subscription!!!!

The Good:

New pawrents? The first thing I thought is this would make an excellent gift for a new puppy parent or even a new adult pup parent.

Puppies can be overwhelming: The truth is puppies take a lot of time and energy and they need training. How nice is it to get age specific tools and tips to help raise your pup.

The Not So Good:

Picky pup: You might end up with something your pup doesn't like. You can always gift it to another lucky pup or a local shelter.

Maddie is patiently waiting to open her PupBox.

Maddie carefully inspected each item.

Maddie approved!

ooops left this out of the picture!
This card has a ton of information on it!

Contents of the PupBox:

Fizzion Stain & Odor Remover. Value = $8.99

Kong Comfort Snuggles-medium size. Value = $9.99

Earthbath All Natural Puppy Wipes. Value = $7.99

JW Teething Butterfly. Value = $2.99

Vital Essentials Chicken Breasts. Value = $8.99

Charming Balloon Latex Lily the Lion - Mini. Value = $4.99

2 month guide.

The total approximate value of this PupBox is $43.94. I said approximate because the training guides are worth something and it's hard to put a monetary value on them. All said this is what I call a break even box. You get the value of what you paid but the best part is you didn't have to do the shopping. Everything comes conveniently to your house in a nice little package once a month! That's worth something for sure. There were only two items in the box that I won't use. Maddie did not care for the latex lion but I think her cousin Daisy will love it. Next time we go for a visit I'm going to bring Daisy this new toy! The other item is the teething butterfly but only because my pup is well beyond her teething years. She went crazy for the chicken treats and I'm pretty sure she could smell them through the box! I'm a big fan of the doggie wipes, they work great for cleaning off paws and a quick refresher between baths. I'm actually excited to try the Fizzion because I have a cat with a sensitive stomach and doesn't always keep her food down. No need for concern though she gets checked by the vet every year and gets a clean bill of health.

Verdict: I think this is a great box for new puppy parents. I also think it would make a fantastic gift for the new pawrent in your life.

This little Kong bear has become one of Maddie's new favorite toys!

OuiPlease Vol. 3.1 Summer Box

The OuiPlease is a box full of Parisian treasures that ships 6 times a year. The price of the box is quite high at $150 per shipment. You can also subscribe yearly for $650 bringing the price of the box down to $108. Per the OuiPlease website your special delivery will feature a surprise selection of products, including the very best France has to offer in beauty, jewelry, accessories, apparel, home and epicure and have a value of at least $300.

Every now and then they have a 20%-30% off code that can be used on yearly subscriptions and brings the price down to $520 or $455. I was lucky enough to find one for 30% off so this box was only $75. The bad part is it's an overlap box with my previous subscription.

Price: $108-$150 every two months depending on subscription commitment.

The Good:

Luxury products: The boxes are filled with name brands that would be considered luxurious.

Variety: This box isn't just beauty products. It will have jewelry, apparel, home goods, etc.

Information: They include their own magazine that talks about the products in the box as well as other products.

Pricing Structure: They offer one-time, monthly or yearly subscriptions. It would be nice to see a 6 month (3 box) subscription tier.

The Not So Good

Price: The price is way high but at the same time you will hopefully get what you pay for.

Referrals: I would like to see a referral program. If you can convince someone to spend this much money on a box you should get a little thank you treasure.

OuiPlease Vol. 3.1

Up close of the bracelet.

Contents of the Volume 3.1 OuiPlease Box:

Les Néréides Paris Charm Bracelet in Royal Beetle. Value = $60.00

Mille et une Fouta 100% cotton Beach Towel. Value = $50.00

Gold 48K Paris Day Cream. Value = $200.00

Christophe Robin Lemon Cleansing Mask. Value = $30.00

Oui Love It! Langues de Chat cookie. Value = $10.00

Clara en Provence Savon de Marseile & Lavender bag. Value = $15.00

The value of this box is $365.00. The hero item in this box is the $200 day cream. The reason it's $200 is because it has pure gold in it. For $200 it better works miracles! I received an email before this box shipped telling me I could pick which bracelet and beach towel color I wanted. I like it when they do this because some things I would absolutely not use. The problem is, twice now OuiPlease has ignored my requests. I requested the lady bug bracelet and got the beetle. The worst part is the beetle is my least favorite and I will not wear it. I did receive the right color beach towel though. I am excited to try the cookies with my coffee this weekend. I think it's funny that they are named cat tongue cookies. The lavender scented items are ok. I will probably save them for a gift though because I have a 5 foot wide French lavender bush at my house that provides all the lavender I need.

Verdict: I'm not sure how many months left I have on my subscription but I'm leaning towards not renewing. The last 2 boxes have left me unexcited.

August Graze Box - 8 Snack Pack

Graze sends out a box of four snack size containers of dried fruit, nuts, crackers, dip and dippers, etc.  The boxes are semi-customizable meaning you don't actually get to pick which items you want but you can rate the items you receive from love to never send me this again.  The cost of the box is $11.99 per shipment. You can also choose how often you want the boxes. I have mine set up for every four weeks.

Price: $11.99 per 8 pack shipment or $6.99 per 4 pack. This subscription ships to the US only, except Hawaii and Alaska.

Use Code: ANISHA6PP and get your 1st and 5th Box Free!

The good:

Like Snacks: Are you a snacker like me?  These are perfectly proportioned snack size containers.

Nutritional info: The include nutritional info in each box. It's on the card in the package though, not the actual product which is kind of a bummer.

Skip: You can do this online through your account and it's super easy.

Semi-customizable: You rate items and that's how they choose which items to send you.

Special Diet or preference: You can choose from high protein, low carb, low sugar, low calories, savory, sweet treats, etc.

Gift: This is a great gift for a college student. I just send one to the teenager because she is always raiding our stash when she comes over.

The not so good:

Price: The costs ends up being $1.50 per package.  You're paying for convenience but I gotta be honest it was super convenient to pick up a pack and throw it in my lunch bag.

Contents of box:

Lemon Drizzle Flapjack.

Sweet Rhubarb Jam.

Spicy Sriracha Crunch.

Pizza Margherita.

Creamy Ranch Kern Pops.

Vitamin C Crush.

Vietnames Pho.

Carmel Apple.

Verdict: I'm really like my Graze boxes for convenient portable snacks.

August Macy's Beauty Box Debut Box!

Macy's recently stepped into the beauty box game with their own monthly beauty bag. Each month Macy's will send 5 deluxe beauty samples, one bonus item, a $5 off coupon in a makeup bag. I was anxious to try this box since I knew it would have beauty products that Macy's carries.

Price: $15 a month w/shipping included. Ships to 48 states excluding Alaska and Hawaii.

The Good:

Brands: Department store brands.

Makeup bag: Comes with a makeup bag every month.

Information: They provide a card with all the product info on it.

The Not So Good:

Skip: You can't skip a month. If you want to skip you have to cancel.

Price: I think the price is a little high.

2oz. Philosophy Purity facial cleanser. Value = $6.00

.05oz. Smashbox 2 color eye palette in golden hour. Value = $5.50

.03oz. Benefit Gimme Brow Volumnizing Fiber Gel. Value = $7.20

.23oz. Tarte Maracujá Oil. Value = $6.50

.05oz. Carolina Herrera Good Girl Perfume Spray. Value = $7.65

sample size MAC False Lashes mascara. Value = $5.00?

Gold makeup bag with "The In Crowd" written on it.

The approximate value of this debut Macy's Beauty Box is $37.85. I expected this beauty box to have a higher value. The Sephora and ipsy bags are $10 each and have a value in this range and sometimes higher. I will say the beauty bag is better than Sephora's and bigger than ipsy's. The great thing is I will use all of the items in this bag. I like the color of shadows and I'm out of brow gel. I have a ton of mascara but I've never tried MAC mascara.

Verdict: I'm on the fence about this one. I'm going to see what happens the next 2 times and see if they up their game.

The total value of this box is $10.45. I like that MightyFIX is sending some glass containers. I've been slowly getting rid of my old plastic containers and I'm really liking the glass. This container is about 16oz. and can fit a regular size sandwich, cut in half and stacked.

Verdict: I'm still very happy with this subscription.

GlossyBox - Tropical Beauty box

GlossyBox is a monthly subscription box for beauty items. Each month GlossyBox will send a box of 5 beauty products in a pink reusable box. I mention the box because it's very sturdy with minimal branding on it and can be reused for a multitude of things. I've reused them for packing gifts, storing jewelry and beauty items.

Price: $21 a month with discounts for 6 and 12 month subscriptions.

The Good:

Brands: Well known luxury brands including OPI, Crabtree & Evelyn, Sebastian, Too Faced, etc.

Sizes: deluxe sample size and usually 1 or 2 full size items.

The Box: I love the box the items come in!

Information: They provide information on each product with price.

Skip: There is no option to skip.

August GlossyBox

Contents of the GlossyBox:

FULL SIZE Dr. Paw Paw Multipurpose Soothing Balm. Value = $10.00

FULL SIZE Aerin Beach Cream for hair and body. Value = $45.00

FULL SIZE NCLA Clean Up Your Act. Value = $16.00

.5oz. La Roche-Posay Foaming Cleanser. Value = $.50

1.4oz. Luseta Beauty Coconut Milk Shampoo. Value = $1.17

1.4oz. Luseta Beauty Coconut Milk Conditioner. Value = $1.17

Doucce x Glossybox Freematic Small Case. Value = $10.00

Doucce x Glossybox Freematic Blush Mono. Value = $14.00

The total value of the GlossyBox is $97.84. This months box was a hit for me. The Aerin product is intriguing since it can be used on your hair or body. I tried the Sachuan product on my hair when I was in the Bahamas and I really liked the way it worked. I'm guessing this product is similar but being able to use it on your body is confusing. The only thing in the box that wasn't that exciting is the blush but only because I don't use blush. I really like the container that it came in though and I'm wondering if I can buy other products to put in it.

Verdict: This box was a great box for me.

Everyone Loves A Treasure
