OuiPlease Vol. 3.2 Fall Edition

The OuiPlease is a box full of Parisian treasures that ships 6 times a year. The price of the box is quite high at $150 per shipment. You can also subscribe yearly for $650 bringing the price of the box down to $108. Per the OuiPlease website your special delivery will feature a surprise selection of products, including the very best France has to offer in beauty, jewelry, accessories, apparel, home and epicure and have a value of at least $300.

Every now and then they have a 20%-30% off code that can be used on yearly subscriptions and brings the price down to $520 or $455. I was lucky enough to find one for 30% off so this box was only $75. The bad part is it's an overlap box with my previous subscription.

Price: $108-$150 every two months depending on subscription commitment.

The Good:

Luxury products: The boxes are filled with name brands that would be considered luxurious.

Variety: This box isn't just beauty products. It will have jewelry, apparel, home goods, etc.

Information: They include their own magazine that talks about the products in the box as well as other products.

Pricing Structure: They offer one-time, monthly or yearly subscriptions. It would be nice to see a 6 month (3 box) subscription tier.

The Not So Good

Price: The price is way high but at the same time you will hopefully get what you pay for.

Referrals: I would like to see a referral program. If you can convince someone to spend this much money on a box you should get a little thank you treasure.

Close up of the earrings.

Contents of the Volume 3.1 OuiPlease Box:

Iles Formula Haircare set w/shampoo, conditioner and comb. Value = $25.00

Lull Paris Regenerating Hand Cream. Value = 62.00

Les Nereides Diamantine Earrings in opal. Value = $66.00

Red Beret. Value = $59.00

PopUp Candle in Desert. Value = $40.00

Les Cocotte Paris pochette in Luxembourg print. Value = $50.00

Oui Love It Les Boudoirs. Value = $30.00

The value of this box is $332.00. I've been contemplating canceling this box at the end of my year because I haven't been too excited with the items. This month was a whole different story. Besides the beret, which I can't pull off at all, I loved everything in the box. I think the earrings, while not real opal are really pretty. I love, love, love the les cocotte pouches. I think the prints are super cute and they are great for traveling. I've burned a few of the PopUp candles and still haven't found a diamond but at least I got a nice candle out of it. The booklet included a recipe for tiramisu using the lady fingers in the box. They had better be delicious for $30 a box!

Verdict: I'm not sure how many months left I have on my subscription but I'm leaning towards not renewing. The last 2 boxes have left me unexcited.

November ipsy bag

ipsy sends out a glam bag with 4-5 samples and a makeup bag for $10 a month with shipping included. If you sign up yearly it's $110 which brings the price down the $9.16 a month with shipping included.  I've been with them since 2011 and this is one subscription I am for sure keeping. They constantly have a high product value with products that I use.

Price: $10 a month with no option to skip. Discount offered for a yearly subscription.

This subscription is available to the US and Canada and ships from Harrisburg, NC.

**I have 5 invites for a free ipsy bag. This is for new subscribers only**

The good:

The samples: Usually you get at least one full size product in each bag.

The packaging: Each month the products come in a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

Discounts: The almost always offer a discount on any additional purchases you want to make.

Semi-customized: You take a little quiz and your bag is semi-customized with products you will enjoy.

Points: You can earn points for reviews and referrals. You can redeem points for extra goodies in your bag.

The not so good:

Skip a month? There is no option to skip a month.  You have to cancel.

Renewal. If your a yearly subscriber they automatically charge your credit card for another year when the paid for year is up. I think they should sent out an email prior reminding you that your year is almost up and it will automatically renew.

November ipsy bag.

Contents of ipsy bag w/approximate value:

.05 oz. Tarte cosmetics Amazonian clay 12-hour blush. Value = $7.77

.09 oz. Manna Kadar HD Perfecting Powder. Value = $5.27

Crown Brush C141 Small Chisel Brush. Value = $5.69

golden yellow makeup bag.

The approximate value of this months bag is approximately $45.41.  This bag was just ok for me.  I liked the perfecting powder and the moisture mask. The good thing for me is the moisture mask was the big ticket item.

Verdict: Although I wasn't super excited about all the items it was totally worth the $10 price.

November Love with Food - tasting box

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box filled with food. They offer a tasting size box and a deluxe size box. I had been a subscriber to the deluxe size box but the values were consistently low so I canceled that subscription. The tasting box is $9.99 a month and contains about 8 snacks in the box.

Price: $9.99 a month with a discount for 6 and 12 month plans. No option to skip.

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from Santa Clara, California.

The good:

Variety: You get a lot of variety in each box.

Discounts: You can earn points for discounts off future full size product purchases by submitting reviews on their website or referring new members.

The not so good:

I really can't think of anything I don't like about this box.

November Love with Food tasting box.

Contents of Love with Food tasting box.

MadeGood Apple Cinnamon Granola Bar.

One Potato Two Potato Sweet Potato Chips.

Dilettante Chocolates Blood Orange Truffle Cremes.

Enstrom Milk Chocolate Almond Toffee.

Emmy's Organics Vanilla Bean Coconut Cookie.

Gratify Everything Thins Pretzel.

Smashmallow Cinnamon Churro marshmallows.

Purell Multi Surface Disinfectant.

I didn't do a breakdown of this box. If you look at my previous reviews they usually come in at the $8-$10 range. This box is just a great box if you like snacks and trying new snacks. I've discovered quite a few things that we now purchase because of these boxes. Also LWF makes it easy because you can order direct from their website. The Purell was a little something different this month, meaning not a food item. I didn't mind it though since I travel a lot of take disinfectant with me.

Verdict:  This Love with Food box had some yummy items in it.

October Allure Beauty Thrills box

The Allure Beauty Boxes are PACKED with tons of stuff for a low price. The products range from drug store to salon products and are a great deal.

The Allure boxes are seasonal and this fall box was priced at $49.95 plus $10 shipping for a total of $69.95. The also tell you what's in the box before you buy so you know what you're getting. Basically if there is $70 worth of products you will use it's totally worth it. This box said it was valued at over $250!

You could also buy a year subscription upfront for $199.00 plus $10 shipping per box. The total was $240 for 4 boxes which is $10 less per box if bought separately.

32 oz. Wen Hair and Body care by Chaz Dean Winter Cranberry Mint Cleansing Conditioner. Value = $72.00

16 oz. Wen Hair and Body care by Chaz Dean Winter Vanilla Mint Cleansing Conditioner. Value = $32.00

The total value of the Allure October 2017 Beauty Box is $445.90. As you can see the big ticket items in the box are the Wen products. I'm so torn about these products ever since they had the lawsuit from people who said their hair fell out. Has anyone had any personal experience with Wen, good or bad?

Verdict: Overall I'm still happy with this box. It's breaks down to about $2.50 per item and that's a bargain!

November Robb Vices Box

Robb Vices is a monthly subscription box focused on exceptional products, food, accessories, etc. Each box is curated and comes with a booklet that tells the story of the items in the box. This box is for those who enjoy the finer things and appreciate the history or story behind it. I only say that because this box is not inexpensive. The price is $89.95 per month plus shipping. I subscribe to the Robb Report magazine and very much enjoy reading it. If you subscribe to the magazine they offer a discount on the box. I researched previous boxes and liked what I saw so I subscribed.

Price: $89.95 per month plus shipping w/discounts for 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions.

The Good:

Products: The products are high end, artisan and great quality.

Information: The include booklet is a wealth of information on the products.

Referral Program: Refer 3 friends and get a free box.

Alcohol: Sometimes they include alcohol which I'm a big fan of.

The Not So Good:

Price: The price is high for a monthly box of surprise items.

Auto-Renew. I don't care much for auto-renew especially on a box with a high price tag.

November Robb Vices Box

Contents of the Robb Vices Box:

Groth Wines Cabernet Sauvignon. Value = $59.99

Sempli Vaso-Vino Decanter. Value = $50.00

Urbani Stringozzi Pasta. Value = $9.00

Lark Fine Foods Salted Rosemary Shortbread Cookies. Value = $6.00

Artstar $100 Gift Card. Value = $0

New York Prime Beef $125 off. Value = $0

The total value of this box is about $124.99. I very rarely include the price of gift cards and discount codes because they usually require and out of pocket expense. I searched the website of both Artstar and New York Prime Beef and while you can save a lot you still have a minimum out of pocket expense of $25.

I was very excited about the other items in the box. The first thing I noticed was the Groth wine. I'm a fan of this wine and the winery is within a couple hours of my house. The next thing I noticed was the decanter which matches the wine classes that came in a previous box. I love it! I'm also familiar with the Urbani and Lark cookies and was super happy to see those in the box. I can't wait to try the pasta.

Verdict: This Robb Vices box was a win for me. I will use all the tangible items in the box and probably order a few steaks also.

In addition your MightyFix box is guaranteed to have a value of at least $10 and they are not samples but full size products. The Good:

Full Size: The items sent are NOT samples. They are full size items and things that are sold in their online shop.

Donation: 15% of every purchase, including the subscription box goes back to a school of your choice.

Gift: Need a gift? They offer 3, 6, or 12 months subscriptions.

The Not So Good:

You might end up with a product you don't need or use.

Contents of the MightyFix box:

Moso Natural Air Purifying Bag. Value - $10.99

The total value of this box is $10.99. I was actually pretty excited to try this little treasure out in my closet. The boyfriend rides a motorcycle for work and tends to sweat a lot in the summer. This makes for a not so pretty smelling closet sometimes. It's a large walk-in closet and we do our best to keep it aired out but sometimes it gets a little musty in there. I put this in the closet and in the first week I noticed a difference. I will say the weather where we are has cooled down a lot so his clothes aren't as sweaty but I still think it's helped because I can't smell anything in that closet now.

Verdict: I'm sold on this product and so glad I was able to try it in this box.

15ml. BLAQ charcoal face mask. Value = $7.25

.1oz. tarte Lifted waterproof mascara. Value = $9.50

Burgundy makeup bag with lace print.

The approximate value of this months bag is approximately $38.00. This is a low value for an ipsy bag but I love all the products except the nail polish. I'm not a fan of the color. The peach hand cream smells deliciously peachy. I love a good face mask and I've been dying to try a charcoal mask!

Verdict: I'm super excited about the face mask in this box.

October Macy's Beauty Bag

Macy's recently stepped into the beauty box game with their own monthly beauty bag. Each month Macy's will send 5 deluxe beauty samples, one bonus item, a $5 off coupon in a makeup bag. I was anxious to try this box since I knew it would have beauty products that Macy's carries.

Price: $15 a month w/shipping included. Ships to 48 states excluding Alaska and Hawaii.

The Good:

Brands: Department store brands.

Makeup bag: Comes with a makeup bag every month.

Information: They provide a card with all the product info on it.

The Not So Good:

Skip: You can't skip a month. If you want to skip you have to cancel.

Price: I think the price is a little high.

Macy's beauty box.

Contents of the Macy's beauty bag.

.5oz. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. Value = $4.00

.5oz. Lancome Energie De Vie Moisturizing Cream. Value = $16.00

.04oz. YSL Black Opium perfume. Value = $3.40

.25oz. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. Value = $8.00

.35oz. Strivectin Multi-Action. Value = $12.00

.17oz. Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster Value = $11.40

Makeup bag.

The approximate value of this debut Macy's Beauty Box is $55.00. This is way better than the previous months, perhaps they are getting word that they needed to step up their values. I also noticed the brands and products were higher end than previous boxes. Again a step in the right direction. This box is all face product though and I would like to have seen at least one makeup item or at least a bath product. I know it sounds picky but with so many subscription boxes out there you have to be a little picky.

Verdict: While this box had a high value I just wasn't impressed with the overall contents. I've giving up this subscription for now and will watch for changes in the future.

Fall RawSpiceBar Envelope

It's been awhile since I've reviewed RawSpiceBar but it's not for a lack of enjoying the products!

RawSpiceBar has recently changed up their subscription format and I for one think it's awesome. Instead of sending monthly packages they are now quarterly and you get more spices. When you sign up you have a choice of 4 diet types; eat anything, healthy& light, vegetarian & vegan or paleo. This will help them send personalized recipes using your new spices!

Price: $26.00 every 3 months or $88 a year. Each shipment contains 6 large spice packets. Shipping included.

If you use my referral link you will get $10 off your subscription.

The good:

Love to cook: If you love cooking with new foods and spices this a fun way to do it.

Know someone who loves to cook: This makes a great gift!

Reduce waste: It's such a terrible thing to buy a jar of spice and have it go to waste. This allows you to try the spice without buying a whole jar.

The not so good:

Skip: I don't see an option to skip or pause your subscription.

Buy: I really want them to have a shop on their website where you can purchase more of the spices you like.

Fall RawSpiceBar envelope.

Contents of the RawSpiceBar envelope:

1.1oz. Umpumpkin Pie Spice.

1.1oz. Punjabi Garam Masala.

.75oz. Salt Free Greek Seasoning.

1.1oz. Shichimi Togarashi.

1.1oz. Kashmir Chilies Tandoori.

1oz. Freshly Ground Chiles Taco.

This first thing to notice is the packets are big, in fact all but one over 3 times the weight of the previous packets. This is great for trying multiple recipes. Another change is the recipes are now sent to your email and not printed out. I'm not sure I like this as I'm a bit old school and still use recipe cards and books. I get it that it's more eco-friendly though. However, I did find their pinterest board which has tons of links to great recipes and I love me some pinterest!

Verdict: Overall I like this new subscription format.

October MightyFIX box.

Contents of the MightyFix box:

Soapwalla Déodorant Créme. Value - $14.00

The total value of this box is $14.00. I am allergic to aluminum so I've been using Crystal deodorant since my high school days. I like crystal because it's a spray and easy to apply. Since this is a aluminum free product I'm going to give it a try but I'm not a fan of having to use my hands to apply.

Verdict: Even though I'm a little skeptical of this product I'm still very happy with this subscription.

October Graze Box - 8 Snack Pack

Graze sends out a box of four snack size containers of dried fruit, nuts, crackers, dip and dippers, etc.  The boxes are semi-customizable meaning you don't actually get to pick which items you want but you can rate the items you receive from love to never send me this again.  The cost of the box is $11.99 per shipment. You can also choose how often you want the boxes. I have mine set up for every four weeks.

Price: $11.99 per 8 pack shipment or $6.99 per 4 pack. This subscription ships to the US only, except Hawaii and Alaska.

Use Code: ANISHA6PP and get your 1st and 5th Box Free!

The good:

Like Snacks: Are you a snacker like me?  These are perfectly proportioned snack size containers.

Nutritional info: The include nutritional info in each box. It's on the card in the package though, not the actual product which is kind of a bummer.

Skip: You can do this online through your account and it's super easy.

Semi-customizable: You rate items and that's how they choose which items to send you.

Special Diet or preference: You can choose from high protein, low carb, low sugar, low calories, savory, sweet treats, etc.

Gift: This is a great gift for a college student. I just send one to the teenager because she is always raiding our stash when she comes over.

The not so good:

Price: The costs ends up being $1.50 per package.  You're paying for convenience but I gotta be honest it was super convenient to pick up a pack and throw it in my lunch bag.

Contents of box:

Soy Roasted Seeds.

Apple & Cinnamon Flapjack.

Cinnamon Apple Pie.

Peanut Butter & Jelly.

Dill Pickle & Pepper Crunch.

Snickerdoodle Dip.

Hickory Smoked BBQ.

Grilled Cheese.

Verdict: I'm really like my Graze boxes for convenient portable snacks.

.16oz. Pixi by Petra Fresh Face Blush in BeachRose. Value = $8.00?

.5oz. LXMI Créme Du Nil moisturizer. Value = $24.00

.25oz. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in Radiance. Value = $9.75

.02oz. Elizabeth Mott Pop! Goes the Shadow in Toasted  Value = $3.94

Textured spike makeup bag in black.

The approximate value of this months bag is approximately $58.12. The LXMI must be some fancy moisturizer because it's pretty expensive. I'm looking forward to trying everything in this bag except the blush because I don't use blush. I like the color of the eyeshadow. The smashbox primer in this color is also new to me and I'm been experimenting with foundation primers lately.

Verdict: I'm very happy with this bag.

Quarterly Co. - Mixed Up

Quarterly Co. is a slightly different kind of subscription box company.  The way it works is you pick a contributor you would like to receive a curated gift from anywhere from $50-$100 and every 3 months you will receive your item in the mail from them.  With each gift you receive the story behind it. This subscription is for the Culinary box. Each shipment is curated by a different person in the food field.

This months box featured editors of the book "Mixed Up", Nick Mamatas and Molly Tanzer.

Price $75 every 3 months.

The good:

Variety: There are lots of different curators to choose from.

Something different: This is definitely different from other subscription companies

Commitment issues? Don't want to make a monthly commitment but still want a treasure?  You can get a quarterly treasure.

The not so good:

Don't like waiting: If you don't like waiting this may be torture for you.

Quarterly Co. Culinary Box

Contents of box with approximate retail price:

Mixed Up exclusive annotated edition. Value = $14.97

Liber & Co. Real Grenadine. Value = $10.00

Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. Vermouth Brined Olives. Value = $14.00

Royal Rose Natural Cocktail Syrup. Value = $8.00

Fabbri's Amarena Wild Cherries in Syrup. Value = $6.95

Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. Aromatic Bitters. Value = $12.00

The approximate value of this box is $65.92. I was pretty excited about this box. One of my goals this year was to try as many different cocktails as possible. When we travel we always bring back alcohol that is specific to that area of the world or something we can get in USA. Now we have quite the alcohol collection and I need some inspiration for drinks. The Mixed Up book isn't even out yet so that's pretty exciting AND it has sticky notes throughout that won't be in the store version. Everything in this box is great except the olives. I'm not a fan of olives and especially not green olives. The boyfriend likes them though so they won't go to waste.

Verdict: This box has great bar theme. I can't wait to start mixing!

Fall FabFitFun box

FabFitFun is not a monthly subscription but quarterly. Each season you will receive hand-picked, high-end and exclusive gifts including beauty, fashion and fitness products. The items are full sized and premium with a value of $200+. The cost of this box is $49.99 billed every 3 months.

The good:

The Products: You will receive mostly full size and premium products in each box and not just beauty items.

The Brands: They send well known premium brands

Quarterly: This is nice because monthly boxes can cause overload.

The not so good:

Price: The price is a sticker shock, but it's only 4 times a year as opposed to monthly.

FreshCare Flushable Cleaning Cloths. Value = $1.00

The total value of the summer FabFitFun box is $387.45. I love the scarf in this seasons box! I read somewhere they suggest washing it before using it because it sheds. My other favorite item is the hot/cold gel pack. I know most people probably won't like it but we use these packs all the time in my house. I think I'm going to see if I can trade for a couple of more so we can keep one in the freezer. I got to pick the color beanie I wanted but I don't wear beanies so I'll probably trade it. I'm very curious about the carbon toothpaste. I like the idea of it being natural but I hope it doesn't taste icky. I'm a big fan of cuticle oil. I can't stand any dry parts around my nail beds so I try and use cuticle oil a few times a week, usually before bed. The gym bag is cute but I have so many gym bags I won't use this one. It would make a great gift though. I love the shade of lip crayon I received and the magnetic top is so cool!

Verdict: Overall this quarters box was great and well worth the money!
