July Play! by Sephora Box

Contents of the Play! by Sephora box:

.04 oz. Nest Fragrance in Citrine. Value = $3.20

1.7 oz. Ouai Wave Spray. Value = $8.84

BeautyBlender Blotterazzi. Value = $??

1 oz. First Aid Beauty Skin Rescure Deep Cleanser with Red Clay. Value = $5.11

.25 oz. Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer. Value = $9.75

.08 oz. Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer in Chocolate. Value = $7.50

Cute little bag to carry your treasures in.

The total value of the of the May Play! box is $34.40 plus the price of the beauty blender. This blender came with just one blender but the product you buy I think have two as well as a a mirror compact. I'm not too sure about this box. I used to love wave/sea salt sprays but lately they have really been drying my hair out and don't like the way it feels. I know some are better than others but I'm not sure I want to even try this one. I don't have any interest in a bronzer - it would be a disaster if I tried. I will definitely use the cleanser and maybe the pore minimizing primer.

Verdict: Great price but this bag was just ok.

I have colored hair and protecting it from fading is really important to me. I'm looking forward to trying the Sachajuan hair product. It says it protects your hair from the sun and only comes out when you wash it with shampoo. I thought the emoji napkins are really cute and I'll probably use them. I think the swan drink holder is super cute however don't have a pool. I have friends with pools though so maybe I'll gift it to them.

Verdict: This months PopSugar was just ok.

July Robb Vices Box

Robb Vices is a monthly subscription box focused on exceptional products, food, accessories, etc. Each box is curated and comes with a booklet that tells the story of the items in the box. This box is for those who enjoy the finer things and appreciate the history or story behind it. I only say that because this box is not inexpensive. The price is $74.95 per month plus shipping. I subscribe to the Robb Report and very much enjoy reading it. If you subscribe to the magazine the offer a discount on the box. I researched previous boxes and liked what I saw so I subscribed.

Price: $74.95 per month plus shipping w/discounts for 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions.

The Good:

Products: The products are high end, artisan and great quality.

Information: The include booklet is a wealth of information on the products.

Referral Program: Refer 3 friends and get a free box.

Alcohol: Sometimes they include alcohol which I'm a big fan of.

The Not So Good:

Price: The price is high for a monthly box of surprise items.

Auto-Renew. I don't care much for auto-renew especially on a box with a high price tag.

Don Q Rum Summer Rum Sampler

Contents of the Robb Vices Box:

The Pineapple Co. Large Pineapple Tumbler. Value = $99.00

The Pineapple Co. set of Pineapple Shot glasses. Value = $35.00

Envy Tropical Orange Drink. Value = $1.00

Envy Fruit Punch Drink. Value = $1.00

Melissa's Sugar Cane Swizzle Sticks. Value = $19.50

Don Q Rum Summer Rum Sampler. Value = $5.00

The total value of this box is $160.50. I couldn't believe it when I saw The Pineapple Company boxes inside. I thought "oh no, it's the tumblers again!" Well it was except this box had the large tumbler and the shot glasses. Now I have a complete set. The only bummer part is this box included the copper colored pineapples and the one from Bespoke Post is gold colored. I prefer the copper but I'm still ok with the mix of colors. This box also included rum from Don Q and I was surprised how inexpensive it was. A regular size bottle is only $10. I can't wait to try these to see how they compare to our normal brand. I thought the sugar can sticks were a nice addition. They will add a little natural sweetness to the drinks. And last but not least the Envy drinks. I was surprised to see these for sale on Amazon and for a very reasonable price since they are 100% juice.

Verdict: I love the Robb Vices box. I can't wait to see what's in store for August.

Price: $45 a month/with skip option.

This box ships to the US, Canada and Hawaii. Canadian shipping is an extra $10-$20 and Hawaii is $10.

The good:

The good:

Price: They send great products with a value of at least $100 that's 3-4 times the price of the box.

Referrals: If you refer someone that person gets $10 off a purchase of $30 or more and you get $10.

Discount: They offer a discount if you want to purchase an item from your box.

The not so good:

July BeautyFIX Box

Contents of BeautyFIX w/approximate retail price from Dermstore listed:

FULL SIZE Avene Micellar Lotion. Value = $20.00

Danielle Creations Therapeutic Gel Beads Eye Mask. Value = $10.00

1 sheet Skyn Iceland Blemish Dots. Value = $5.00

FULL SIZE Dr. Hauschka Night Serum. Value = $60.00

2 oz. Glytone Acne Treatment Spray for back and chest. Value = $20.00

FULL SIZE Neova CU3 Intensive Lip Repair. Value = $22.00

DS Laboratories Oligo.DX Cellulite cream. Value = $39.00

The total value of of this BeautyFIX box is $176.00. I have a gel eye mask that I use all the time in the spring and fall. I have seasonal allergies and my eyes itch so bad it makes them burn so I put one of these in the fridge and use them on my eyes to bring down the swelling and burning. I don't have a use for the acne treatment spray but I'm sure I can find someone who does. I like the Avene products but I use the facial wipes for convenience. Sadly I could probably use the cellulite cream. I've heard the creams don't work but since it came in the box I'll give it a try. I can't believe how much the Dr. Hauschka night serum is - let's see what it does!

Verdict: Great box for full size and high end products.

July PopSugar Mini Box

The PopSugar Must Have Mini Subscription has shipped it's second box! The mini box will contain 2 awesome full size products that will compliment the theme of the full size PopSugar box but at half the price. The price of this box is $18.95 (shipping included) and each box has a promised MSRP value of $30.

This subscription is available in the US only and ships from Gilroy, Ca.

The good:

Products: 2 full size products including a variety of beauty, home etc.

Booklet: The include an info booklet in each box about the products including the value.

Price: This box is under $20 a month which is a good price point for a monthly box.

The not so good:

So far this is a great box.

Contents of box with approximate retail price:

Sunnylife Pineapple Ice Tray set of 2 Value = $17.00

Let It Block Sunscreen SPF30. Value = $14.99

The value of this box is $31.99. I wasn't too thrilled with this box. The ice cube tray is cute and all but it has to lie flat and I don't know about you but I don't have flat spaces in my freezer. Also I have a built in ice maker which is a whole lot easier. I was super excited about the sunscreen though. And even more excited when I realized it was under 3 oz. and could fit in my quart sized bag in my carry on.

Verdict: This box was just ok since I only really liked the one item in the box PopSugar Mini Box. I decided to cancel this subscription.

June Robb Vices Box

The items come in a box with a handle. This is what it looks like when you first open it.

Inside the box.

This was under the salt block.

Salt Rocks

Salt Assortment.

Contents of the Robb Vices Box:

2 lb. bag Bitterman Salt Co. Fleur De Sel Sea Salt. Value = $12.00

Bitterman Salt Co. Buttery Popcorn Salt. Value = $5.00

Bitterman Salt Co. Fleur de Hell Salt. Value = $7.00

Bitterman Salt Co. Pinot Noir Sea Salt. Value = $7.00

Bitterman Salt Co. Kala Namak Salt. Value = $4.00

Bitterman Salt Co. Bali Reef Sea Salt. Value = $4.00

Bitterman Salt Co. Chocolate Salt. Value = $6.00

(2) Bitterman Salt Co. Raw Pink Himalayan Salt Rocks. Value = $1.00

Bitterman Salt Co. Round Salt Block. 9" x 1.5" thick. Value = $46.00

Lompoc Brewery C-Note IPA. Value = $6.00

The total value of this box is $98.00. As you can see this box was all about salt. I know salt doesn't seem very exciting but when you start experimenting with different types of salt it can be very exciting. The booklet included recipes for salt crust scallops and a antipasto spread. I already have two salt blocks that I've used for cooking so I'm going to save this one for cold items. I've made scallops and salmon on my salt blocks and they turned out really good. You could taste the salt that absorbed in the scallops. It's safe to say with this box I'm set for salt for quite a long time.

Verdict: I love the Robb Vices box. I can't wait to see what's in store for July.
