March Julep Maven Box

Julep is a monthly subscription company for nail polishes. When you sign up for Julep you take a little quiz and it figure out what your style profile is and how it should customize your box. Julep offers both nail and beauty products. The monthly Maven box will contain a $40 worth of products or you can opt for the Maven Luxe box that will contain $60 worth of products.

Price: $24.99-$39.99 a month with a discount for prepaid 3 month subscription.

The good:

The colors: If you like nail polish then it's a nice way to experiment with multiple colors

Need a gift? If you want to send your box to a friend there is an option to do so.  Just log on to your account and click send to friend.

Ingredients: Julep is 4-free which means it's formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene or DBP free.

Want the polish but not the commitment?  You can buy the polish online at The cost is $14 so if you like polish then becoming a Maven is a better deal.

Swatches: I love how every month Julep shows what the color looks like on actual nails and shows it on different skin tones.

Referral program. You earn "Jules" for referrals, purchases, anniversary, birthday and upgrades.

Skip a month? YES. They recently changed it so ALL mavens have the ability to skip after purchasing their first monthly box.

The not so good:

Now that they have brought back the skips I couldn't think of anything that wasn't so good.

My customized Maven box with lock down your brows eyebrow gel.

Close up of the colors.

Contents of Boho Glam box w/retail price:

Cecile, It Girl, Caribbean breeze holographic jelly. Value = $14.00/$11.20

Yiyi, Bombshell, pink freesia holographic jelly. Value = $14.00/$11.20

When pencil met gel, electric teal shimmer. Value = $16.00/$12.80

Lock down your brows. Value = $22.00/$17.60

The approximate value of my Bombshell Maven box is $44.00 or 35.20 not including my add-on which cost me $10.  The nice thing is I was able to customize my box so all of this is items I will actually use. I keep seeing swatches of the holographic jelly and they look awesome. I can't wait to try them out this weekend.

Verdict: I really like being able to customize my box.
