Spring WalMart Beauty Box

Walmart recently ventured into the subscription box market with a beauty box. The box will be shipped 4 times a year for spring, summer, fall and winter. The best part of this box is the price. Ready for it? It's just $5 per shipment to cover shipping and handling costs. Yep it's only $5 per box. My guess is these are brands that Walmart has a contract with and they probably get the items for free which is why the box is only $5 to cover shipping costs.

Price: $5 per season shipped 4 times a year.

The Good:

Price: $5, doesn't get much lower than that.

Drugstore brands: I love getting luxury products but they can be pricey to buy. This box will contain items that can be found at Walmart which means reasonably priced.

The Not So Good:

Drugstore brands: If you're not into drugstore brands then this is probably not the box for you.

Spring Walmart Beauty Box

Contents of the Walmart Beauty Box with Walmart prices listed:

.06 oz. Burt's Bees Renewal Intensive Firming Serum. Value = $3.33

L'Oréal Age Perfect Glow RenewalValue = $??

.31 oz. Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion. Value = $0.14

Garnier Ultra-Lift Miracle Sleeping Cream. Value = $??

.02 oz. Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfection CreamValue = $0.24

.04 oz. Lady Gaga Fame Black Fluid Eau De Parfum. Value = $1.56

.5 oz. Dial 7 Day Moisturizing Lotion. Value = $0.12

1.8 oz. Caress Adore Forever Body Wash. Value = $0.40

1.7 oz. L'Oréal Total Repair 5 Shampoo. Value = $0.54

1.7 oz. L'Oréal Total Repair 5 Conditioner. Value = $0.54

The total value of the Walmart box is $6.87 but that doesn't include the Garner cream or L'Oreal oil. Overall I'm happy with this box. Nothing too exciting but totally useful products. I've been wanting to try the Nivea in-shower lotion. I've heard it works great BUT makes your shower super slippery. The Caress body wash smells really good and it says the scent is long lasting. The shampoo and conditioner isn't exciting but something I will definitely use.

Verdict: Can't beat the price and I was happy with the products.

Like surprises?  You don't know what's in your box until you receive it.  When you sign up you take a little quiz and the items in the box are supposed to be customized to you.  I have seen pictures of other peoples boxes and they do receive different items.

Discounts: They have a system where you earn points for referrals and things you buy.  The points allow you to receive discounts on future full size purchases from their shop.  They offer free shipping on items from the monthly box and a $5 flat shipping rate for items that don't qualify for free shipping.  This is a nice feature because if you want to order several different brands you get free or $5 shipping for everything.

You can gift a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription or you can purchase a gift card in any amount.  There also have a nice option with the gift subscriptions where you can choose to have the 1st box shipped you for giving and subsequent boxes will be shipped directly to the recipient.  Great birthday/holiday gift!

The not so good:

March Birchbox - Creativity

Contents of box with approximate retail price/value listed.

1 oz. amika Bombshell Blowout Spray. Value = $3.00

.16 oz. Cover FX BB Gel Mattifying Anti-Blemish Treatment. Value = $7.26

.05 oz. Harvey Prince Sincerely Eau De Parfum. Value = $1.67

.05 oz. Mirenesse Glossy Kiss in Cheeky Kiss. Value = $0.79

Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo. Value = $3.76

Number 4 Reconstructing Masque. Value = $2.90

The total value of this box is $19.38. Other than the BB Gel this is a great box for me. I've been using and enjoying my Harvey Prince perfume samples. I don't mind getting shampoo/conditioner since they are things I use all the time. I was able to choose one of the items in my box this month so I picked the amika spray. I blow dry almost everyday for volume so I wanted to give this spray a try. The color of the lip gloss seems nice and again I like the small purse size.

The verdict: I thought this was a great box for me with only one item I won't use but I'm sure I'll be able to trade it.

The not so good:

Skip a month. Currently there is no option for this.  If you want to skip you have to cancel.

Contents of box with approximate retail value.

.17 oz. Eslor Soothing Refiner & Cleanser. Value = $2.38

.17 oz. Eslor Replenishing Scrub. Value = $2.80

.17 oz. Eslor Comforting Mask. Value = $3.80

The total approximate value of this month's box is $30.64. I've heard really good things about the Eslor brand. I still have a sample set that I haven't used yet. I'm really liking the color of the lip gloss. It's so bright and pink. The body cream will be good for traveling and I'll add the mascara to my mascara pile.

Verdict: This was ok. Nothing too exciting but a couple of useful things.

March Love with Food Box - Deluxe Box

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box filled with food. They now offer a deluxe size version of the box which contains 16-20 new snack foods. The price of this deluxe version is $19.95 a month with shipping included. You can also sign up for a 6 or 12 month plan each which will save you a couple of dollars a month. Also for each deluxe box purchased 2 meals are donated to hungry children in America.

Price: $19.95 a month with a discount for 6 and 12 month plans. No option to skip.

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from Santa Clara, California.

The good:

Bigger is better? I know some people don't like that the regular box is so small but it also comes with a small price tag. This deluxe box would be better suited for those with more than 2 people in their house. No more fighting over the tasty snacks!

Variety: You get a lot of variety in each box.

Discounts: You can earn points for discounts off future full size product purchases by submitting reviews on their website or referring new members.

The not so good:

I really can't think of anything I don't like about this box.

Contents of box with approximate retail value from Love with Food:

Miracle Tree Moringa Mint Tea. Value = $0.30

Miracle Tree Moringa Strawberry Tea . Value = $0.30

2 tsp. The Spice Hunter Herbes De Provence. Value = $??

1.5 oz. Beanfield's Ranch Bean & Rice Chips. Value = $1.25

Urban Remedy $10 gift card. Value = $0

The total approximate value of this box is $15.05. The theme of this box is Healthy Grocery Finds. I'm a little disappointed in the value. I think a couple of more items could have been added to make it closer to $20. With that being said all the snack were delicious.

If you use my referral link you can try the LWF snack box for just $2 shipping!

Verdict:  This Love with Food box is going to be delicious!

March GlossyBox

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends 5 travel size beauty items a month.  You can sign up monthly for $21/month, 6 months for $115 (breaks down to $19.16/month), or yearly for $220 (breaks down to $18.33/month).  Shipping is included in these prices. The price is higher than a lot of the other beauty companies but they include luxury items in their boxes. The company ships their boxes towards the end of the month so you will receive it at the end of the month or the beginning of the following month.

Price: $21 a month with discounts for 6 and 12 month subscriptions.

This subscription is available in the US (not including Alaska or Hawaii), Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

The good:

The brands: They have well known quality brands like OPI, Zoya, Burberry, C.O. Bigelow, Ahava, Sebastian and other brands specific to other countries.

The sizes: They send deluxe size samples and usually at least one full  size item.

The box: I know it's just a box but it's a really nice sturdy box. The regular boxes are pink and the special collaboration boxes vary in design in color. It's a perfect box for reusing to store items or for a gift.

Information. They provide information on the products you receive and how much the full size is priced at.  I like knowing this info up front and not having to search for it.

Free stuff: If you provide feedback on your products you earn glossydots which will eventually earn you a free box. You can also earn glossydots from referrals. You have to claim your free box before your subscription ends and becomes inactive. This can be tricky because you don't want to receive duplicate boxes.

The not so good:

The price: This can be a little high for some people but if you want to receive known/quality brands it's worth it.

Skip: There is no option to skip a month.

March GlossyBox

Contents of the GlossyBox with retail price:

FULL SIZE So Susan Cosmetics Concealer Quad. Value = $30.95

FULL SIZE Pop Beauty Kajal Pen in Inky Purple. Value = $10.00

FULL SIZE Bellápierra Cosmetics Cheek & Lip Stain in Pink Value = $19.99

8.5 oz. Nexxus New York Color Assure Shampoo. Value = $7.54

(2) Orogold Cosmetics 24k Multi-Vitamin Day Moisturizer. Value = $?? but sells for $178.00 for 1.7oz.

Caseable gift card. Value = $5.00

The total value of this GlossyBox is $68.48 plus the value of the Orogold product. This box was just ok for me. I like the shampoo and the eye pencil but I probably won't use the concealer quad and I already have the lip & cheek stain. I was trying to find out what size the little pots of the Orogold product were and while searching the product I found lots of negative reviews about their business practices. This product is sold at a lot of mall kiosks and apparently they give you the hard sell. The product itself had decent reviews though. I was super bummed my caseable gift card was only worth $5. I won't use it but if someone out there in internet land wants it email me and I'll send you the code (expires 4/30).

Verdict: This box was just ok. I'm happy with the eyeliner and shampoo.

Spring 2015 FabFitFun Box

FabFitFun is not a monthly subscription but quarterly meaning 4 times a year. Each season you will receive hand-picked, high-end and exclusive gifts including beauty, fashion and fitness products. The items are full sized and premium with a value of $200+. The cost of this box is $49.99 billed every 3 months.

Price: $49.99 every 3 months. Discount for yearly subscription.

This subscription in available in the US only and ships from Los Angeles, Ca.

The good:

The Products: You will receive mostly full size and premium products in each box and not just beauty items.

The Brands: They send well known premium brands

Quarterly: This is nice because monthly boxes can cause overload.

Info: They send a nice color information sheet that has all the product info and prices on it.

The not so good:

Price: The price is a sticker shock, but it's only 4 times a year as opposed to monthly.

Spring 2015 FabFitFun Box

Contents of the FabFitFun box with approximate retail price/value:

Jules Smith Scarf in Watercolor. Value = $42.00

OFRA Cosmetics brush #11 concealer/eyeshadow. Value = $15.95

OFRA Cosmetics brush #20 wide shadow/foundationValue = $29.95

Palmetto Derma Collagen Booster and Restoration Serum. Value = $48.00

Merrithew 3 DVD set Intense Body Blast Pilates Interval Training. Value = $35.95

Merrithew gift card. Value = $25.00

Princess Flash Tattoos. Value = $20.00

ORLY Nail BB Cream. Value = $15.00

ORLY Nail Polish in Cake Pop. Value = $8.50

Rifle Paper Co. Cities Coasters Set. Value = $16.00

Miracle-Gro gro-ables seed pods (Basil). Value = $1.49

Cosmos Creations Premium Puffed Corn. Value = $1.49

Vow to be Chic BOGO dress rental. Value = $125.00**Requires purchase

Hello Fresh Gift Card. Value = $40.00**Requires purchase

The total value of the first FabFitFun box is $259.33. I didn't include the Vow to be Chic or Hello Fresh cards because they require a purchase. Since I have a yearly subscription I was able to choose which scarf I wanted. I like the watercolor one but I didn't realize it was going to be so small. I guess I'm used to the big winter scarfs and this is more geared towards spring/summer. It's really pretty. I've got quite a collection of makeup brushes but I think I have enough now that I can keep a second set in my travel case. I really want to like the Pilates DVD but I'm so bad about doing workout DVD's at home. I am going to use the gift card though, I already found a few things I might want. I'm not impressed with the temporary tattoos. I have zero use for them. I like ORLY nail products although the light pink color is very light. I'm excited to try the BB for nails though. I'm thinking it will be similar to Juleps Oxygen treatment. The last time I received the Rifle coasters in the mail I gifted them and they recipient liked them very much. I think I might keep these ones though because they have cities on them and that is more my style. One thing I'm super excited about is the Miracle-Gro pod. I was just in my garden yesterday and noticed my basil has died. I can't seem to keep basil alive at all. I'm going to plant this and hope for the best.

Verdict: This spring box had a definite spring feel to it. I'm excited to try the nail BB cream and the basil pod.

March Allure Sample Society Box

The Allure Sample Society beauty box is a monthly service for beauty products that promises 5 fresh deluxe sized samples from luxury brands designed for multiple uses.  You also receive a coupon each month for $15 off a $50 purchase from Beauty Bar and a 12 month subscription to Allure magazine.  The cost for this subscription is $15.00 a month with shipping included.

Price: $15.00 a month with no option to skip.

The good:

The samples: You get deluxe sized samples from luxury brands.

Magazine: You get a free 12 month subscription to Allure magazine.  If you already subscribe they will extend your subscription and if you don't want it you can mail in a form for a refund on the value ($12)

Coupon: They send you a coupon with each box for $15 off a $50 purchase. The catch is your order has to include at least one item from a brand you received that month.  It doesn't have to be the item you received just the same brand.

Referrals: It's a win/win. You get a $5 credit on your account or you can donate that to charity and the person you refer gets a 20% discount on their first purchase at Beauty Bar.

The not so good:

Skip a month: There is no option to skip a month, only cancel.

Contents of box with approximate retail value.

.5 oz. Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer. Value = $11.25

.1 oz. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. Value = $8.00

1.5 oz. Oscar Blandi Pronto Texture & Volume Spray. Value = $11.00

FULL SIZE Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm. Value = $13.00

FULL SIZE Cargo Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Taos. Value = $16.00

The total value of this box is $59.25. This was a great box in products and value. I'm wondering if I'm going to see a bunch of Benefit mascara samples in other boxes since it's a new product. I'm ok with that even though I have enough mascara to last the next 5 years it seems. This is the third M+G mojito lip balm I've received in the past couple of years and I've traded them all. Maybe I will keep this one this time. I will definitely use the texture spray. I'm not thrilled with the color of the lip gloss. It's very beige and I don't think it's my color at all. I'll toss that in the trade pile.

Verdict: This box almost always fun products and a great value.

Hello Fresh - Weekly Meal Delivery Box

I'm sure some of you have received some type of advertising for Hello Fresh in one of your sub boxes lately. It seems like they are everywhere! So If you haven't tried Hello Fresh yourself here is what you can expect.

Hello Fresh is a weekly meal delivery. They create the recipe, purchase the ingredients, pack it up and send it to you. You can choose between the classic box which has meat options of the veggie box if you are meat free. Each week you will get 3 meals for either 2 or 4 people. The classic box for 2 people is $69.00, 4 people is $129.00. The veggie box for 2 people is $59.00, 4 people $109.00. All prices include shipping. Each week you will get an email with that weeks selections. There are about 5 options to choose from with 3 of them being the chef's choice. If you don't choose your items then you will be sent the chef's choice. There is also an option to skip that week and you can skip up to 10 weeks ahead. I always opt to skip as far ahead as I can because I would rather miss out then get a box I wasn't prepared to get.

Price: $59.00-$129.00 per week depending on plan with option to skip. Check Hello Fresh for delivery areas.

Hello Fresh sent me invitations to send out 3 free meal kits. You will get 3 meals that each serve 2 people. You have to sign up of the service but skipping meals or canceling is very easy. If you want to try Hello Fresh send your first name and email address to pixiepowered@hotmail.com. I'll update this post as the boxes are are claimed or offer expires. **all invites claimed**

The Good:

Not into cooking? This makes it easy. All the ingredients are in the box for you as well as easy to follow directions. They do assume you have salt, pepper, olive oil and butter but other than those thing everything is included.

Busy? This is great for those busy weeks where you just don't have time to shop, prepare and cook.

Counting Calories? Each recipe has nutritional information.

Recipes: They work on recipe development with Michelin star restaurant Aquavit in New York as well as a team of in house chefs who have graduated from culinary school and worked at such places as Momofuku and Eleven Madison Park.

The Not So Good:

Price: It's a little on the spendy side but it's darn convenient.

Pan-Fried Shrimp Gyozas - ingredients

Pan-Fried Shrimp Gyozas

Swedish Meatballs - ingredients

Swedish Meatballs

Pan-Fried Gyozas with Spring Edamame Succotash.

Swedish Meatballs over Egg Noodles & Portobellos.

Sage-Butter Roasted Pork with Roasted Butternut Squash and Charred Broccoli. (not pictured)

I didn't do a breakdown of cost on this box like I did the first one. If you want to read my first review click here

I'm happy with this meal subscription box. The recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients are packed well and taste great. The only downfall for me is I skip my deliveries as far out as possible so I don't forget. I've noticed on the weeks I've skipped I don't get an email notifying me that the meal choice is open. I have to remember to check. Blue Apron sends and email whether you skipped or not which is nice because sometimes after seeing the menu I un-skip.

If you are thinking about giving Hello Fresh a try and don't already have a discount code use my referral code BQ3TA4 and you will get $40.00 off your first box (any size). This would make a classic box for 2 people $29.00 or about $10 for each meal. Can't beat that!

Verdict: I won't use it every week but I'll definitely stay a customer.

Everyone Loves A Treasure

March Ipsy bag - Floral Fantasy

Ipsy bag sends out 4-5 samples and a makeup bag for $10 a month with shipping included. If you sign up yearly it's $110 which brings the price down the $9.16 a month with shipping included.  I've been with them since 2011 and this is one subscription I am for sure keeping. They constantly have a high product value with products that I use.

Price: $10 a month with no option to skip. Discount offered for a yearly subscription.

This subscription is available to the US and Canada and ships from Harrisburg, NC.

The good:

The samples: Usually you get at least one full size product in each bag.

The packaging: Each month the products come in a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

Semi-customized: You take a little quiz and your bag is semi-customized with products you will enjoy.

Points: You can earn points for reviews and referrals. You can redeem points for extra goodies in your bag.

The not so good:

Skip a month? There is no option to skip a month.  You have to cancel.

Renewal. If your a yearly subscriber they automatically charge your credit card for another year when the paid for year is up. I think they should sent out an email prior reminding you that your year is almost up and it will automatically renew.

March ipsy bag - Floral Fantasy

Contents of bag with value and approximate retail price:

FULL SIZE NYX Butter Lipstick in Hunk. Value = $6.00

.13 oz. Boo-Boo Cover-Up Concealer. Value = $7.69

1 oz. Pur-lisse pur-delicate soy milk cleanser. Value = $6.43

.25 oz. Dr. Brandt pores no more anti-aging mattifying lotion. Value = $8.82

FULL SIZE Vintage by Jessica Liebskind illuminating face highlighter. Value = $13.00??

floral makeup bag.

The approximate value of this months bag is $41.94. This months bag wasn't too exciting for me. The only thing I will definitely use is the Pur-lisse cleanser and I'll probably try the Dr. Brandt product because I like other things from that brand. The concealer is not something I use and I don't use highlighter/blush either. I will say I've tried it but I didn't see much of a difference and while I wear makeup I don't wear a lot of it. I have way too much lipstick but I like this color.

Verdict: This was just an ok bag for me this month.

O's Circle of Friends - Test and Keep Product

Back in October Oprah 2014 launched her new O's Circle of Friends subscription. The subscription has three levels of membership and each one offers a little something different. The basic membership is $39 the prime membership is $99 and the premier membership is $199. The prime membership has all the bell and whistles but it's also expensive. I debated on which one to sign up for but because Oprah has the magic touch when it comes to products I opted for the premier membership. I was intrigued by the "test (and keep!)" products component. The total value of the premier membership is $597.00

I finally received a test and keep product this month. I'm happy with the item itself but I certainly hope there is more to come.

The good:

Oprah: Pretty much everything associated with Oprah turns to gold.

Price: Three different price levels.

The not so good:

Value: So far I'm not seeing the value in the premier membership.

First test (and keep) product.

This is my first test (and keep) product. I'm a fan of Burt's Bee's and will definitely use this. The value of this is $13.00

Here are the items I've received so far with this subscription:

One year subscription to O Magazine print & digital. Value = $16.00

(2) Gift subscription to O Magazine. Value = $16.00/ea.

Keepsake Gift Box of luxury items. Value = $122.27

Surprise Gift (Sequin Bangle). Value = $28.00

Test (and keep) product (Tips and Toes Kit from Burt's Bees). Value = $13.00

By my calculations I should be getting more items totaling $385.73 coming my way in the next 6 months if they want to honor the $597 value promised.

Verdict: I'm still not too impressed so far. I really hope more "test (and keep)" products make their way to my mailbox.

March Nibblr Box

Nibblr is a snack box company very similar to Graze box. They send portion control snacks all wrapped up in a little sealed box. Each shipment contains four snack boxes. You can choose to receive a shipment every week, every other week or once a month. You don't get to choose which snacks you receive but they have rating system on their website for the snacks they send. Your ratings will determine snacks in future shipments. They have 59 different boxes so they is surely something for everyone. The price per shipment is $6.99 which includes shipping. You can choose to pay for four boxes at at time for $23 ($5.75/shipment) or twelve boxes for $66 ($5.50/shipment). Last April I found a deal through Gilt City to get twelve shipments for $40 which makes it under a $1 per snack pack or $3.33 per shipment. That sounded like a great deal to me. I opted to have my boxes shipped once a month. This is my last month of Nibblr. I'm not going to re-subscribe because I get a better deal through Graze.

Price: $6.99 per shipment with discounts offered for prepaying for 4 or 12 boxes. Ships to the US only (except Alaska and Hawaii) from Bohemia, NY

The good:

Snacker? If you're a snacker like me this is a perfect little box. Portion controlled and portable.

Nutritional info: Printed on the back of the container which I love.

Customize shipments: You can choose how often you want a box. Choose wisely though I couldn't see a way online to change it back. Also you get to rate the items and say love it, like it, interested or no thanks.

Referral: Use my referral code 4051 when signing up and you will get a free box.

The not so good:

Price: Depending on how you pay the price ranges from $1.37-$1.75 a box.

Skip: I couldn't find any sort of skip or vacation hold option although it says they have one online.

March Nibblr Box.

Contents of the Nibblr box:

Autumn Crisps, mini crisps with cranberries, pecans, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.

Lemons, lemon coconut macaroons. - apparently I missed this one that last time it came because when I opened the box the boyfriend said "oh, those ones are good". Turns out he was right and this time I ate them all!

Olive You, mini crisps with pumpkin seeds, dates, and olives.

PB&J, grape infused raisins, peanuts, and peanut wafers snack mix.

Verdict: I like these boxes for the convenience and portability but the price is high.

March RawSpice Bar - Persian

Do you love cooking with new foods and spices? Then you have to check out RawSpiceBar. Last month they sent me a complimentary package to review and I liked it so much I subscribed. Each month you will receive 3-4 whole spices or spice blends along with a recipe to use them. Each recipe will use the include spice and will make 8-10 servings. The price of this subscription is just $6.00 a month with shipping included. You have to sign up for a minimum 3 month subscription.

Price: $6.00 a month (minimum 3 month subscription) w/ shipping included. Discounts for 6 and 12 month subscriptions. Ships to US and Canada.

The good:

Love to cook: If you love cooking with new foods and spices this a fun way to do it.

Know someone who loves to cook: This makes a great gift!

Price: $6 is a great low price.

Reduce waste: It's such a terrible thing to buy a jar of spice and have it go to waste. This allows you to try the spice without buying a whole jar.

The not so good:

Skip: I don't see an option to skip or pause your subscription.

March RawSpiceBar - Persian Spice

Contents of the RawSpiceBar envelope:

.3 oz. packet Advieh Khoresht.

.3 oz. packet Mast-O-Khiar Herbs.

.003 oz. packet Saffron Threads.

Last month I looked up these spices on a website where I regular purchase spices from. Matter of fact I they have a store in Napa and when I was there last week I stocked up on some things. This month I decided not to put a value #1 because I've never even heard of two of these spices and #2 it's not accurate. The value would definitely be less than $6 if you could find and purchase these spices in bulk. This workouts out to be $2 a packet which is less than you would paying buying full jars. RawSpiceBar also includes recipes using the spices which is awesome because again I have no idea what two of these spices even are. The other spice, saffron, I know and love.

These spices are used in Tehran, Iran and were chosen in celebration of Nowruz, the Persian New Year. The recipes are:

Braised Lamb Shanks with Advieh
Mast-O-Khiar with Rose & Mint
Sabzi Polow with Dill & Saffron

I'm not a fan of lamb but I think I might try it with with pork shanks.

Verdict: I think this is a great subscription and I'm excited to try these new spices.

PopSugar Must Have - Special Edition Resort Box

PopSugar Must Have Box announced a special edition resort box earlier this year. As with most of their special edition boxes this one was $100 plus tax. The resort boxes always have a summer/travel theme. The price is high but the value is always well over $100.

This is the train case. It's tall to accommodate taller bottles. I didn't open the Jane Iredale product because I might trade it. This is what it looks like though. It has lip gloss, blush and bronzer.

Lele Sadoughi Pendant.

Contents of the PopSugar Special Edition Resort 2015

Stephanie Johnson White Dot Train Case. Value = $60.00

Jane Iredale My Steppes Makeup Kit in Warm. Value = $58.00

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum. Value = $80.00

Lele Sadoughi Half-Moon Pendant (PopSugar Exclusive). Value = $110.00

Jacobsen Salt Co. Pure Sea Salt Cocktail Salt. Value = $14.00

Sloane Stationary Passport Holder (PopSugar Exclusive). Value = $48.00

The total value of this Holiday Special Edition Box is $370.00. What a great value. That makes each thing and average of about $18. I love train and makeup cases. This one is different because it's tall and most train cases are rectangular or square. The only thing I don't like about it is the color. I feel like the white is going to get dirty fast. The Jane Iredale compact is super cute but I don't think I will use it so I didn't open it. Going to save that one for a trade. I've never heard of Drunk Elephant products and this stuff isn't cheap! I definitely try it but since it doesn't have sunscreen I'll use it at night. The necklace is super pretty and would look great on a casual summer outfit. The other day the boyfriend and I made margaritas with and the cocktail salt we had was horrible. I'm excited to try this one by Jacobsen Salt Co. They make great salt so I'm sure this one is delicious. I can't believe how expensive this passport holder is. I already have a passport holder but I'm not sure the teenager does and we have a trip to Denmark/Norway planned for this summer. Maybe I'll save this for a graduation gift.

Verdict: This is definitely worth the $100 price in my opinion.

March Rainbow Honey Mystery Bag - Large

Rainbow Honey is a nail polish that is sold mostly online. I believe they have one retailer in the US in San Diego, CA. Each Rainbow Honey mystery bag will have sneak peaks and preview of new lacquers, unreleased samples of future collections and exciting new products made by the Rainbow Honey Lab! They have two sizes of mystery bag mini and full size. The mini mystery bag is $10 plus shipping which I think is $3.95. The full size  mystery bag is $25 and includes shipping. The difference between the two bags, besides price is size of the products. The mini mystery bag will have the mini size bottles of nail polish and smaller versions of whatever is included in the bag. I debated on which one to get because I actually like the smaller bottle of nail polish. I have so many polishes that I never finish a bottle so the small ones are perfect for me. Then I thought for only $11 more I can get full size versions of everything. Decisions, decisions. Finally I decided on the full size mystery bag.

Price: Small $13.95, Full size $25. Also available as a free gift with $65 purchase.

The good:

Price: $25 is kind of a lot on a subscription but $14 (with shipping) isn't so bad. I like that  they have two different price points.

Love what you got: The have a website full of stuff you can order.

Booklet: The include a booklet with info on the products.

The not so good:

Skip a month: I don't see a skip option.

Each month the products are shipped in a bubble wrapped envelope and the items are bubble wrapped.

Treasures in the RH bag this month.

Crystal Sword, Kozmic Blue, Lemon Honey and Tea Biscuit Scented Top Coat.

Contents of the large mystery bag.

FULL SIZE nail polish in Crystal Sword, a jelly pink base packed with holographic glitters and timed butterflies in a sea of glittering gold, crystals and holos. Value = $10.00

FULL SIZE nail polish in Kozmic Blues, sneak peek of upcoming Galaxy Nails Set Part II, a deep cosmic blue packed with holo hex and precious metal pigments! Value = $10.00

FULL SIZE nail polish in Lemon Honey, a beautiful sunny lemon yellow lacquer with a touch of honey, gently packed with micro gold flakes. Value = $10.00

FULL SIZE Tea Biscuit Scented Top Coat. Value = $8.00

FULL SIZE Petit Four Perfume Oil Rollerball. Value = $12.00

FULL SIZE Rose Macaron Solid Perfume. Value = $10.00

The value of the mystery bag is $60.00. I love the pink and blue colors. The yellow one is pretty but I find yellow doesn't go well with my skin color. The rollerball and solid perfume are perfect for purse, gym bag or traveling. I haven't opened them yet but I imagine they have a sweet scent. I was super happy that the top coat wasn't part of the 3 colors they send. It's always kind of a bummer to not get that third color but not this time. Color me happy three colors AND a top coat. WOW!

Verdict: I still enjoy these bags and I now have quite a large RH collection.

March BeautyFIX by Dermstore aka Blush Beauty Mystery Box

The Blush Beauty Mystery Box is now called BeautyFIX by Dermstore. I'm not sure why the name is changed but everything else seems to be pretty much the same. Each month Dermstore will send out a BeautyFIX box filled with skin care, makeup and hair care with a value of at least $100. The price on the website shows $34.95 but it used to be if you signed up for a subscription it dropped to $24.95. This months box is all sold out so I can't tell if the lower price is still an option. I was only charged $24.95 so I'm guessing it is.

Price: $24.95-$34.95 a month with no option to skip.

Ships to US only, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico additional shipping charges apply.

If you want to try this box and haven't purchased from Dermstore before send me your email address to pixiepowered@hotmail.com and I'll send the link for $10 off. It doesn't say you can't use it on the BeautyFIX boxes but your total has to be $30 or more.

The good:

Price: They send great products with a value of at least $100 that's 3-4 times the price of the box.

Want more: Since they have a retail website reordering is easy and all these products were easily found.

Referrals: If you refer someone that person gets $10 off a purchase of $30 or more and you get $10.

Discount: They offer a discount if you want to purchase an item from your box.

The not so good:

Price: This is one of the higher priced subscriptions but the products are usually high end.

Skip: Their website is not user friendly.  I couldn't find an option to skip or cancel.

Referrals: It's not a clickable link for referrals. You have to send an invite via email.

Contents of BeautyFIX by Dermstore w/approximate retail price from Dermstore listed:

FULL SIZE Julien Farel Hydrate Shampoo. Value = $23.00

FULL SIZE Medicell Labs Advanced Youth Serum Concentrate. Value = $60.00

.13 oz. SkinMedica Vitamin C + E Complex. Value = $13.06

.13 oz.? SkinCeuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector. Value = $12.00

.13 oz.? SkinCeuticals Eye Cream. Value = $13.73

FULL SIZE SmartFX Smartlash Advanced. Value = $39.95

FULL SIZE JeNu Active-Youth Lip Serum. Value = $22.00

The total value of of this BeautyFIX box is $183.74. These boxes are such a great value if you use the stuff. Admittedly I have an overload of serums, creams, and such but I love trying all of it. Recently my friend asked what I thought about botox as she is unhappy with the lines between her eyes. I'm thinking there has to be something in my drawer of goodies that can help her out. If anyone has had luck with a wrinkle reducing product let me know. The Medicell product in this box says for fine lines and wrinkles so maybe this will work? So the first thing I noticed is the little black bag that came with every Blush Beauty box was missing. I really liked those bags and actually used them to store the products I'm swapping. I have quite a few of them though so I guess I'm fine with them being gone. Summer really brings out my pigment issues. I know it's not technically summer but here in California it seems to always be sunny. I've started using a serum that I can't remember the name of right now but I'm also going to give this SkinCeuticals product a try. I tried the Smartlash product that was or is similar to this one and I didn't see any amazing results. I'm wondering what the difference is. This one also says you can use it on your eyebrows.

Verdict: The first BeautyFIX by Dermstore box has an incredible value and has items I will for sure use.
