January Taste Guru Box

Do you live a gluten free lifestyle? Or maybe you know someone who is gluten free? Taste Guru is a whole box of food that is gluten free. Each month Taste Guru sends out a box of gluten free foods that have been tested and reviewed by those who live a gluten free life. The box is shipped monthly and the prices ranges from $20 to $24 a month depending on which plan you sign up for. All plans include shipping.

I am happy to report that my shipping issues have been resolved and I received this box on time. The downside is this is my last box...for now anyway. I have been enjoying the products.

Price: $24 a month with discounts for 3, 6 and 12 month plans.

This box ships to the USA only from Denver, Colorado.

The good:

Gluten free made easy: This is a great way to try a whole bunch of gluten free foods.

Need a gift: I think this would make a great gift for the gluten free person in your life.

The not so good:

I'm was having issues with my subscription but I'm hoping that's not typical with everyone else.

January Taste Guru Box.

Magazine included in the box.

Contents of Taste Guru Box with approximate retail value:

.8 oz. Simply 7 Lentil Chips. Value = $0.73

.8 oz. Simply 7 Quinoa Chips. Value = $0.73 - These are light, crispy and slightly addicting.

(2) NoGii D'Lites Chocolate Bar in Chocolate Caramel. Value = $1.25/ea.

2 oz. bag Boulder Granola in Original. Value = $2.70

2 oz. bag of Boulder Granola in CranberryValue = $2.70

Oven Baked Organics Pancake Mix. Value = $5.00

1/8 oz. Tabasco Original. Value = $0.55

6 oz. bag Old School Mill Grits. Value = $1.69

1 tub Wowbutter peanut butter replacement. Value = $0.24 - yep it tasted like peanut butter. what a great thing for those with peanut allergies!

Wyoming Authentic Jerky in jalepeño flavor. Value = $1.25 - I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn't mouth burning hot. I really enjoyed it.

Living Without's Gluten Free & More September-October 2014 issue. Value = $5.95 - Kind of strange that this is a few months old but I'll still read it.

Bonus Item:

.75 oz. Funny Face's Choo Choo Cherry Cranberries. Value = $2.67 - These are always delicious but a little pricey.

The total value of this box is $26.71. I like the Simply 7 chips, they are light and airy and delicious. I thought the wowbutter peanut butter replacement tasted great. It tasted just like peanut butter. I would buy again and bonus, they make it in crunchy variety. I grew up eating grits with butter and a fried egg on top. I know it's not the healthiest thing for you but as an adult I've axed the butter and I fry the egg with a little pan spray so it's not so bad now. I've never tried this brand but I'm excited about it.

Verdict: I'm looking forward to trying the stuff in this box. I was super happy the beef stick wasn't super!

January Blue Apron Box

Blue Apron is a weekly delivery service of fresh ingredients to make meals. I've tried it a couple of times and done price breakdowns to see if it's worth the money or should I just go to the store and buy the stuff myself. What I figured out is you're not getting an incredible deal as far as getting more value than you paid but you are getting convenience and it doesn't cost much more than if you went and bought all the stuff yourself.

Blue Apron (named after the blue aprons apprentice chefs in France used to wear) sends fresh ingredients to make 3 meals that will serve 2-6 people each week. This is how is works. Once you sign up you can choose to receive meat and fish or vegetarian dishes and you choose how many servings (2,4 or 6) you want for each dish. You will receive 3 meals per week with enough ingredients for the servings you request. The prices vary depending on what you order. For 2 people it's $59.94, 4 people is $119.88 and 6 people is $179.82 per week with shipping included. This works out to $9.99 per meal per person. It's less than going to a restaurant but may more than going to the grocery store and getting the ingredients yourself. They send out the menus weekly and you can also log on to your account and skip deliveries 6-8 weeks in advance. I went into my account and skipped all the weeks because I would rather skip and miss something than forget to skip and get something I don't want. I can't justify getting this every week so I look at our calendar to see what kind of week is coming up and if the menu looks good and it's a busy week I will unskip the week. If it's not a busy week, the menu isn't my thing or we are going to be out of town I leave it as skipped.

Price: $60.00-$180 a week depending on size of box. Option to skip weeks.

The good:

Busy: This is great for busy people. The ingredients are fresh, on hand and the meals take on average 35 min to prepare.

Don't cook?: The included recipe cards are not only beautiful they have very easy to follow instructions complete with pictures.

Counting Calories: The calorie info is included and each meal is 500-700 per serving.

Ingredients: fresh ingredients from artisan purveyors with an emphasis on sustainable practices

Need a specific delivery day: You can choose between Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and even Saturday delivery. Also the food is well packed on ice packs in an insulated box.

The not so good:

Price: It's a bit pricey but you're paying for convenience.

Organic, free range, grass fed: I couldn't find anywhere where these types of items were used. I also went to the Tradesman Premium Cuts website and it looks like it's specific for Blue Apron but doesn't have a whole lot of info about it. I usually buy grass fed, free range meats because I think it taste better and I feel better about eating it.

Banana Leaf Steamed Cod with Spiced Rice, Yu Choy & Coconut ingredients.

Banana Leaf Steamed Cod with Spiced Rice, Yu Choy & Coconut.

Korean-Style Tteok with Spicy Pork "Ragu" & Gai Lam

Banana Leaf Steamed Cod - This was just ok. The spice was a little too spicy for me. Yu Choy was new to me though and I enjoyed it.

Korean-Style Ttoek - This dish is the reason I ordered the box this week and it did not disappoint! I loved this dish, the boyfriend loved it and we will totally be making this again. It was savory, delicious and so easy to make.

Chicken Charlemagne - I was going to make this last night but long story short I didn't. The nice part about it is that I can freeze the chicken and the other ingredients should keep a few more days. Below is what the dish looks like.

I'm not going to do a complete price breakdown like I did on my first review. If you want to read it click here. For me, I feel like there is value in these meals and they are working out great for those busy weeks. I logged into my account and skipped all weeks. When Blue Apron sends out the email with the menu information I can simply go back into my account and unskip. This works for me and I'm less likely to get a shipment I didn't want.

***Blue Apron has sent me invitations to share with 3 people. If you're interested in trying it Blue Apron will send you 1 weeks worth of meals which consists of 3 meals with 2 servings each. When you accept the invitation you will have to provide a credit card and will be signed up for their service. You can keep the service as is or go into your account like I do and skip the meals ahead of time, or cancel completely. If you are interested in trying it send me an email at I will update this post when the meals are claimed.***

**ALL INVITED CLAIMED!!** Bon Appétite

Verdict: I'm enjoying the food and flexibility of this subscription.

I thought this was interesting. It was a sticker on the side of the box listing the ingredients and where they came from.

January Taste Trunk - Gourmet Trunk

Taste Trunk is a food based subscription box. I love food, especially gourmet food so I didn't hesitate to sign up for this box. Taste Trunk actually has four different themed trunks you can purchase. They are Gourmet, Health, Sweet and BBQ trunk. I love that they have something for everyone. I was torn between the BBQ one and the Gourmet one but ended up choosing the Gourmet one. The nice thing about Taste Trunk allows you to switch your boxes at anytime. I keep thinking I'm going to try the BBQ one at some point but I'm really liking this trunk.

Price: $35.00 a month with no option to skip.

The good:

Products: The items in my box are gourmet and full size.

Info: They send info cards with products information and recipes.

Variety: I love that they have four different themed boxes.

Want more: They have an online store where you can purchase more of the things you love.

Change it up: Want a different trunk next month. You can change your trunks by emailing them

The Not So Good:

Skip: Doesn't look like there is a way to skip, only cancel.

Referral program: They have one but you have to enter the persons full name when you check out and they get 10% off their next box. I like referral programs that use links and have discounts or bonus items for both people.

Contents of The Fancy Food Box with approximate retail price listed:

A & A Organic Farms Wet Rubz Santa Maria Style Marinade. Value = $6.99

La Tourangelle Thai Wok Oil. Value = $7.99

Brianna's Champagne Caper Vinaigrette. Value = $3.99

Un Mondi Spanish Style Chorizo. Value = $6.50

Volpi Pinot Grigio Salami. Value = $7.50

The total value of this months box is $32.97. When I saw the wok oil I remembered I have some of this in my pantry but it must be tucked in the back somewhere because I haven't seen it in awhile. The Wet Rubz marinade is new to me and I love a good marinade. I was super excited to see the chorizo because I found a recipe I wanted to make last weekend but I needed chorizo and this kind is hard to find at my local store.

Verdict: This box is on the pricier side but if you like cooking it's a great box.

January Urth Box

The Urth box tagline is "Discover a Healthier You". Well who doesn't want to do that?  Each month Urth box sends a box of healthy full size snacks for you to try. They have different types and sizes of boxes the choose from. You can choose a gluten free, diet, classic or vegan box. From that point you choose which size box you want. They have a small box (7-10 items) for $29 a month, medium box (12-15 items) for $39 a month, large box (20-24 items) for $59 a month. Shipping to US is included. If you choose a 3 or 6 month plan you can save up to $10 a month.

I know in my last post I said I wasn't going to renew but I accidentally forgot to cancel so it auto-renewed for 6 months. This review is for the small box under a 6 month plan so the box cost me $19 a month.

Price: $29-$59 a month depending on size of box with discounts offered for 3 or 6 month subscriptions.

This box is available to US and Canada but extra shipping fees apply to Canada.

The Good:

Variety: They have a variety of boxes to choose from depending on your dietary needs.

Products: They send full size products which is awesome!

The Not So Good:

Price: The price is a little high for a monthly box.

Skip: It doesn't appear there any way to skip.

January Urth Box.

Contents of the Urth Box:

50 pk. Jean Pierre Facial Tissues. Value = $1.99

Wow Baking Co. Snickerdoodle cookie. Value = $1.99

1.63 oz. Jollyoak Blueberry Crunch Granola. Value = $2.47

.70 oz. GoVida Freeze Dried Grapes & Pineapple. Value = $2.50

Mantitoba Hemp Hearts. Value = $0.73

3 oz. Creative Snack Co. Toasted Coconut Chips. Value = $3.38

1 oz. Fabz Fava Beans. Value = $0.82

1 oz. Sunrise Fresh Dried Cherries. Value - $?? - This isn't sold anywhere online.

The total value of this box is $23.79. This box was so packed full of stuff I was surprised the value wasn't more. It has a couple of favorites, a couple of not so favorite and lots of new stuff for me to try. Who knew there was a drink to help your eyes. I wonder how much you have to drink to actually see results.

Verdict: This box was great since I only paid $19 but at the regular monthly price of $29 it would've been disappointing.

January Bestowed box

Bestowed was created by nutritionist and author Heather Bauer in an effort to answer the question everyone had when it comes to health food.."which one of these is really the best?" Each month, Heather and her team of health and diet experts carefully curate 7-10 healthy snacks, beverages and lifestyle item and send them to you. Bestowed has also partnered with The Food Trust and for each box sold they supply a kid in need with a days worth of snacks. The price of this box is $20.00 a month with shipping included. They also have 3 and 6 month plans that offer a 10-15% discount.

Bestowed offered this box to me for review for a discounted price of $10.00

Price: $20 a month w/no option to skip. Discounts for 3 and 6 months prepaid plans.

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from New York.

Bestowed is offering 10% off any subscription using code LOVEHEALTHY.

The good:

Variety: I liked that there was some variety to this box. It wasn't just limited to food or products, you get both!

Good size samples: The samples are full size or close to it.

Information: They include a sheet with product info and tips on usage.

The not so good:

Skip a month: I didn't see an option to skip a month.

January Bestowed Box.

Contents of box with approximate retail value:

.53 oz. Bare Snacks Crunchy Apple Chips. Value = $1.39

Coco Libre Protein Drink. Value = $1.99

Good Greens Bar in Wildberry. Value = $0.99

.88 oz. Lesser Evil Buddha Bowl Himalayan Pink Popcorn. Value = $0.62

2 oz. Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts. Value = $2.99

(2) Miracle Tree Mooring Organic Tea. Value = $0.32/ea.

PrepDish One-month subscription. Value = $14.00

Urban Remedy Gift Card $15.00. Value = $0.00 - Requires a minimum $50 purchase.

The total value of this months box is $22.62 or $8.62 not counting the PrepDish subscriptionI didn't think this box of goodies was too great. The PrepDish is for new customers only so some people may not be able to use it. I was looking forward to trying the popcorn but the boyfriend got to it before me. The one item I'm not a fan of is the hemp hearts. I just don't like the flavor. I'm also a little leery of the protein drink because it has coconut water in it. I do not like plain coconut water at all so I'm hoping the chocolate will take care of that. I have a free month of PrepDish I received in another box that I haven't used yet. I intended to use it but the service they offer is pretty much what I do at home anyway.

Verdict: I didn't feel this box was worth the $10 I paid let alone the regular $20 price.

January Conscious Box - Classic Box

Conscious box offers 3 types of boxes. The classic, vegan and gluten free.  Each box contains a wide variety of items from food to beauty products to household goodies.  The price is $19.95 a month with shipping included. They also have a 3, 6 and 12 months plans. The 12 month plan is the only one that offers a discount.

Price: $19.95 a month. The 12 month pre-paid plan offers a discount.

This box is only available to ship to the US including Alaska and Hawaii and ships from Portland,

The good:

Variety: You get a wide variety of items and the box was packed!

Vegan: If your vegan the vegan box is great for you.

Gluten free: If you live a gluten free life the gluten free box would be great for you.

Information: They now include an information card with product details on it.

Points: You can earn points for rating products. The points earn you discounts should you want to purchase something you like.

The not so good:

The price: It's on the high side for subscription boxes but I would consider this a specialty box for sure.

Sample size: Some of the sample sizes are really small and not enough to really evaluate the product.

January Conscious Box

Contents of Conscious Box

Amazing Grass Chocolate Chip Coconut Whole Food Energy Bar. Value = $4.00

5ml Carolla's Beeswax Skin Créme. Value = $1.67

10g Sant Superfruit Beverage. Value = $1.20

1 oz. Ips All Natural Sea Salt & Black Pepper Egg White Chips. Value = $1.75

(2) .1 oz. Natralia Dry Skin Lotion. Value = $0.12/ea.

(2) Kleenmaid Naturezway Bamboo Perforated Towel. Value = $0.18/ea.

.24 oz. Barklogic Tick & Flea Pet Wash. Value = $0.37

6 oz. bag Saffron Road Korean BBQ Crunchy Chickpeas. Value = $5.19

2 tsp. Spice Hunter Organic Oregano. Value = $??

.75 oz. Vaska Perfect Laundry Detergent in Lavender. Value = $0.32

The total approximate value of this months box is $15.10. I was happy to see the chickpeas because I just opened I bag I got from another box and dang if those things aren't delicious! I like the idea of the bamboo towels but I'm afraid they will accidentally get tossed by people thinking they are regular disposable towels. I received the bees wax creme in this box a month or so ago and they are right, a little goes a long way. It works really well though so it's a keeper. My Maddie girl just happens to be in need of a bath so I will give this pet wash a try this week. I am very interested trying the Sant superfruit beverage. It looks like dried fruit pieces that get re-hydrated in water. This package says it will make 10 drinks.

Verdict: I'm not thrilled with the value but the products are useful.

January Moxie Box

I hadn't heard much if on the Moxie Box from Moxie Boutique too much but when I saw a deal on Living Social I took a chance. The deal is for 3 months of Moxie Box for $55 which makes each box $18.33 each. The way Moxie Box works is each month you will receive a box of accessories picked for you based on your response to the questionnaire you fill out when you sign up. The box could contain jewelry, scarves, shirts, wallets, etc. Each box has a retail value of at least $40.00. The price of the boxes start at $30 a month plus $2.99 shipping with discounts for 3, 6 and 12 month plans.

I had a little trouble when I signed up. I didn't fill out the questionnaire because I didn't realize I could scroll through the questions. I know it sounds odd but I'm using a Mac and sometimes things work different on a Mac, not to mention I'm still learning how to use it. I went back and filled out the questionnaire so I don't know if this shipped before of after I filled out the form because I never received a confirmation email showing I signed up.

Price: $32.99 a month including shipping. Discounts for 3,6,12 months plans.

The good:

Support Small Business: This is a small business based in Delaware. This really is a small store with a few employees who are boxing up your goods.

Done with beauty products: Most subscription boxes are filled with cosmetics this one is not.

The not so good:

Website: The website could use some work, it's a little difficult to navigate.

Value: $40? I don't see it.

Price: It's on the pricey side.

Contents of the Moxie Box.

Close up of the earrings and candle.

Contents of the Moxie Box with approximate retail value:

Purple Infinity Scarf. Value = $10.00??

Wicks + Wax Hazelnut Macchiato candle. Value = $8.00 - This smells so delicious, I can't wait to burn it.

Moxie Boutique large black studs. Value = $5.00??

Moxie Boutique faux pearl studs. Value = $5.00??

The only thing I know for sure is the price of the candle which is $8.00. The scarf didn't have any type of tag on it so I don't know where it's from. The scarf is really pretty and I love that it's light weight but I wouldn't value it at more than $10 on the high side. The earrings are kind of plain and not very exciting. They don't say what the post is made of or if it's hypoallergenic so I would value the at $5 max. I feel like it's something you could easily find at a place like Claire's. The website says the value is at least $40 which would mean the earrings and scarf have a combined value of $32.00. The candle smells absolutely wonderful. It actually made me crave coffee.

Verdict: I'm not too impressed with this box. Stayed tuned for the next two boxes.

January PetBox - Dog Box

I love all the different boxes out there for the fur babies but I stopped subscribing because Maddie had an overload of toys and snacks. I found a deal for a three month subscription to PetBox and I thought what the heck it's been awhile since she's received mail. PetBox is a monthly subscription offering items for your dog and or cat. You can choose to be surprised or you can pick the items out yourself. I'm guessing if you are subscribing for a dog and cat then picking out the items yourself would be beneficial. For this subscription I only signed Maddie up and chose the surprise me option. They offer 4 different size boxes ranging from $9.95-$59.95 a month with discounts offered for 3 months and 12 month plans. Shipping is included in all plans. This review is for the snack box.

Price: $9.95-$59.95 a month depending on size of box.

The good:

Pets - Lots of people have dogs and it can be hard to figure out what products work.  This is a great way to try stuff out without spending a ton of money.

Semi-customized - your 10lb. Chihuahua won't be receiving a toy larger than it's whole body.  (Although I know lots of Chihuahua's that like to think they are bigger than they are and would love the challenge)

Need a gift - It's like a shower gift for someone with a new fur baby.  How cool is that.  Congrats on your new bundle of fur, here's 3 months of goodies to get you started.

Pricing options: I like that they have different pricing structures with one as low at $9.95 a month.

Dog like surprises? - Dogs usually love surprises. Everything is a surprise to them.  They can join in the surprise fun with you when you open their box cause you won't know what you get until it gets to you.

Donation - They donate a weeks worth of food to a shelter each week.

Points: You earn points based on the size of the box you buy. I'm not sure if you get points every month or just once when you subscribe.

Need more goodies: You can redeem your points for more toys, treats, supplies, etc and add them to your box with no additional shipping fees.

The not so good:

Skip a month: There doesn't appear to be an option to skip.

Contents of the PetBox:

Pet Green Treats Savory Beef Recipe. Value = $7.98

Earth Rated 120 Lavender Scented Poop Bags. Value = $6.99

Sadie's Sweet Pawtato Chips sample. Value = $1.00??

The total value of this box is $15.97. I would say Maddie is pretty set on her poop bags for awhile. She ate the Pawtato chips right up. She's getting to be a big fan of the veggies. I haven't given her the Pet Greens treats yet but they look like something she will like.

Verdict: This box had a great value for the price paid. I like that it had something that is totally useful in it like poop bags. All good dog owners know you never leave the house without these.

January AgLocal - Farmer's Pick Box

Do you like knowing where your food comes from? Do you enjoy grass fed proteins? I know I do. Eating local, grass fed, free range and all that good stuff comes at a price but sometimes that price is worth it. I try really hard to buy local, free range, grass fed and all that good stuff. I shop sales, I look at label and spend a little extra when I can. It doesn't always happen and sometimes I buy the mass produced commercial proteins but I do try. When I saw an ad for AgLocal I knew it was something I wanted to check out.

AgLocal lets you buy pasture raised meat from independent family farms. AgLocal does all the work in checking out the family farms, their practices and they publish all of the info on their website.

AgLocal offers a monthly subscription box full of proteins from family run farms that promote low-stress natural environments and the symbiotic relationship between animal, land and people. The box price starts at $85 for a small box and $150.00 for a large box. Currently they offer six different boxes to choose from. Each box has different cuts of meat, sausage or chicken in it. Do you like to grill? There is a grill box. Prefer the leaner cuts of meat then go with the fit and lean box. Are you all about the bacon? Then the bacon box is for you. I decided to go with the farmers pick box because it had lesser known cuts of meat that you may not find in the supermarket. I'm all about trying new things so this is perfect for me.

Price: $85.00-$150.00 per month shipping included. You must email to skip.

This currently ships to California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada & Arizona. Ships from San Francisco, CA.

The good:

Family farm raised with all the good stuff.

Information: They provide a ton of info on the products and the farms they come from.

Skip or pause: You can put you subscription on skip or pause but you have to email.

The not so good:

Price: This doesn't come cheap but you can feel good about buying it.

Limited delivery area: Limited to 5 West coast states for now but hopefully they will expand as they grow.

Skip or pause: I wish you could do it online but at least you can email as opposed to calling.

The meat is shipped frozen in an insulated box with dry ice packs.

Inside the box was all kinds of info about the farms, the cuts of meat and recipes.

How cute is this paperclip!

This is the small farmer's pick box.

Contents of the Farmer's pick box:

2.64lbs. Beef Brisket from SunFed Ranch in Sacramento, CA.

2.50lbs. Beef London Broil from Open Space Meats in Newman, CA.

2.07lbs. Denver Lamb Ribs from Anderson Ranches in Brownsville, OR.

4 pack Sweet Italian Pork Sausage from Circle Star Ranch in Roseburg, OR.

I don't really have a way to calculate the value of the box since there are so many variables. I did do a quick search at Safeway and priced these items at about $64.00. The products I found though were not premium, local farm, grass fed, antibiotic free, etc. This box cost $85.00. So I asked myself. Would I pay an extra $20 for the benefit that AgLocal brings? The answer is yes I would. I know that is not possible for a lot of people. I grew up in a single parent household where my mom made things like creamed tuna casserole and added extra pasta to pot so it would stretch a little farther and maybe we would have leftovers for lunch. An extra $20 was not something we discarded. I am very fortunate that as an adult I have the extra income to purchase items like this. We don't typically eat a lot of meat but when we do I want to try my best to do the right thing and eat responsibly. I also want to support small farms and farmers who provide and quite frankly do the work I don't want to do. Farming is hard back breaking work and the pay isn't great. I figure the extra $20 is my way of saying thanks farmers, I appreciate you.

If you're interested in giving AgLocal a try you can subscribe (cancel anytime) or they now offer by the cut orders. You can choose want you want and shipping is free with orders over $100. Use my referral link to get $5 off your first order.

Verdict: I won't order every month but this is something I'm definitely interested in and will be purchasing from in the future.

Tanith, Classic with a Twist, Warm putty with gold microglitter. Value = $14.00/$11.20

Shari, Classic with a Twist, Delicate sweet pea créme. Value = $14.00/$11.20 ***I received two of these.

Aurora, It Girl, Melted platinum chrome. Value = $14.00/$11.20 ***This was missing from my box.

The total value of this is $118.00 or $94.40 maven pricing.

Contents of Add-On #1: $4.99 with promised value of $14.00

Lilou, Bombshell, Lemon Chiffon Créme. Value $14.00/$4.99

The total value of this is $14.00 or $4.99 maven pricing.

Contents of the Mystery Add-On: $9.99 with promised value of $20.00

Moisture Mask Trio. Value = $20.00/$16.00

The total value of this is $20.00/$16.00 maven pricing.

Contents of the Mystery Add-On: $11.99 with promised value of $54.00

Blank Canvas eye primer. Value = $28.00/$22.40

Gel eye glider in Smoky Taupe. Value = $12.80/$12.80

Gel eye glider in Rich Brown. Value = $$12.80/$12.80

The total value of this is $53.60/$48.00 maven pricing.

In the end I got $205.60 or $163.39 maven pricing and I paid $49.00. The things I'm really happy about are the eye gliders, moisture mask trio and Tanith. Those 4 things add up to $52.00 which is just over what I paid so everything else is a bonus basically. I'm curious about the night shift mask. I've heard real mixed reviews on it and I already have stuff I use at night. I think I would've like the plush pout more in a different color. That pink is a little to pink for me. The lip primer is new to me. Has anyone tried it? Does it really pump up your lips?

Verdict: All in all not a bad deal but I got a lot of dupes in the polish.

PopSugar Must Have Special Edition Target Box

A couple of times a year PopSugar does a special edition box in addition to their regular monthly subscription. They have done fall, summer, resort and of course the Neiman Marcus boxes but this one was completely new. This time they teamed up with Target for a Fit, Fresh, Fun box. As soon as  I heard about this I jumped on it. I had a feeling this one would sell out fast!

The price of the box was $65.00 plus taxes is applicable. I live in California so I'm always plagued with taxes. This made the box $69.88 for me.

Contents of the with retail price:

Laneige Advanced Hydration Trial Kit. Value = $10.00

Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity and Sleep Wristband. Value = $99.95 - I think this is awesome. I have the Fitbit One that clips onto my pants. I opted for that one because I didn't want to always wear something on my wrist.

Gaiam Icy Marrakesh Yoga Mat. Value = $21.99

C9 by Champion Non-Slip Headband. Value = $6.99 - I was excited to get this because I needed a new one but dang it's tight! I hope it loosens up.

Brita Blue Sport Bottle. Value = $8.99 - I have a ton of water bottles but I like that this one has a filter. I think I'm going to bring it with me when I travel.

Simply Balanced Organic Dark Chocolate Trail Mix. Value = 6.99

10 pack Burt's Bees White Tea Towelettes. Value = 2.99 - I'm a fan of these for sure.

$20 Target Gift Card. Value = $20.00 - A target gift card? Who couldn't use that!

The total value of the PopSugar Target box is $177.90. First I want to start off with what an awesome box this is. I mean a Fitbit? How cool is that?!? The only problem for me is that I already have a Fitbit One so a Fitbit Flex is not something I will use. I know I will have no problem trading or selling it though. The other thing that was super cool except that I already have three of them is the yoga mat. I'm tempted to keep it because I love the design but that seems silly to have 4 yoga mats. They do make decent camping mats though and I'm sure 4 of them stacked together would be quite cushy. The was happy to get the headband because I needed a new one but it's kinda tight. I'm hoping it loosens up but I like that it has 3 straps to hold your hair down. The Brita bottle will come in handy for traveling. We have a couple of trips planned this year one of them being international. It doesn't hurt to take an extra precaution.

Verdict: Great collaboration box. I would totally buy this again if offered.

January Love with Food - Deluxe Box

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box filled with food. They now offer a deluxe size version of the box which contains 16-20 new snack foods. The price of this deluxe version is $19.95 a month with shipping included. You can also sign up for a 6 or 12 month plan each which will save you a couple of dollars a month. Also for each deluxe box purchased 2 meals are donated to hungry children in America. I decided to cancel my regular snack size box and subscribe to just this larger
size box.

Price: $19.95 a month with a discount for 6 and 12 month plans. No option to skip.

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from Santa Clara, California.

The good:

Bigger is better? I know some people don't like that the regular box is so small but it also comes with a small price tag. This deluxe box would be better suited for those with more than 2 people in their house. No more fighting over the tasty snacks!

Variety: You get a lot of variety in each box.

Discounts: You can earn points for discounts off future full size product purchases by submitting reviews on their website or referring new members.

The not so good:

I really can't think of anything I don't like about this box.

Contents of box with approximate retail value from Love with Food:

(2) 1 oz. Britt Dark Chocolate Cocoa Nibs. Value = $1.33/ea.

(2) Luna Bar Chocolate Dipped Coconut Mini bars. Value = $1.11/ea.

4.5 oz. Big Slice Energy Kettle Cooked Apples.  Value = $2.20

(2) 2 oz. Somersault Snack Company Somersaults. Value = $0.58/ea.

1.5 oz. Ginnybakes Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Bliss Ginnyminis. Value = $1.08

.5 oz. My Super Cookies Chocolate Heroes. Value = $0.83

(2) Stash Tea Breakfast in Paris Tea. Value = $0.22/ea.

(2) .8 oz. Wai Lana Cassava Pops. Value = $1.66/ea.

(2) Alter Eco Velvet Truffles. Value = $0.67/ea.

Alter Eco Black Truffles. Value = $0.67

1 oz. Eatrageous Crunchy Mac n' Cheese. Value = $1.10

(2) 1 oz. Bobalu In-Shell Almonds. Value = $0.76/ea.

The total approximate value of this box is $18.54. As always this box is full of fun snacks to try. Some of these I've had before from other boxes but some are new. For instance the big slice apple pouch looks really interesting. I'm a fan of the Luna bar and combing coconut and chocolate is never wrong.

If you use my referral link you can try the LWF snack box for just $2 shipping!

Verdict:  This Love with Food box is going to be delicious!

January GlossyBox

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends 5 travel size beauty items a month.  You can sign up monthly for $21/month, 6 months for $115 (breaks down to $19.16/month), or yearly for $220 (breaks down to $18.33/month).  Shipping is included in these prices. The price is higher than a lot of the other beauty companies but they include luxury items in their boxes. The company ships their boxes towards the end of the month so you will receive it at the end of the month or the beginning of the following month.

Price: $21 a month with discounts for 6 and 12 month subscriptions.

This subscription is available in the US (not including Alaska or Hawaii), Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

The good:

The brands: They have well known quality brands like OPI, Zoya, Burberry, C.O. Bigelow, Ahava, Sebastian and other brands specific to other countries.

The sizes: They send deluxe size samples and usually at least one full  size item.

The box: I know it's just a box but it's a really nice sturdy box. The regular boxes are pink and the special collaboration boxes vary in design in color. It's a perfect box for reusing to store items or for a gift.

Information. They provide information on the products you receive and how much the full size is priced at.  I like knowing this info up front and not having to search for it.

Free stuff: If you provide feedback on your products you earn glossydots which will eventually earn you a free box. You can also earn glossydots from referrals. You have to claim your free box before your subscription ends and becomes inactive. This can be tricky because you don't want to receive duplicate boxes.

The not so good:

The price: This can be a little high for some people but if you want to receive known/quality brands it's worth it.

Skip: There is no option to skip a month.

January GlossyBox

Contents of the GlossyBox with retail price:

.17 oz. Skin & Co Roma Truffle Therapy Serum. Value = $13.61

Teeez Trendy Cosmetics Beautiful Flat Brush Stiff. Value = $23.50

FULL SIZE Kueshi Revitalizing Face Toner. Value = $13.30

1 oz. Vichy Pureté Thermale 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser. Value = $2.91

FULL SIZE Lollipops Eye Pencil in Goodbye Moon. Value = $17.70

The total value of this GlossyBox is $71.02. I'm a fan of the Skin & Roma brand and I'm happy to get samples from them because their products are on the pricey side. I use a face toner everyday and I've never heard of this brand. It smells really good though, kinda fruity. The Vichy product is a good travel size and I've never tried it before. The eyeliner is actually really cool. It's in a plastic case and it twists up. I've been getting a lot of eye shadow brushes lately and I really don't need a new one but this one is super colorful and fun!

Verdict: This had a great value and great products.
