November Conscious Box - Classic Box

Conscious box offers 3 types of boxes. The classic, vegan and gluten free.  Each box contains a wide variety of items from food to beauty products to household goodies.  The price is $19.95 a month with shipping included. They also have a 3, 6 and 12 months plans. The 12 month plan is the only one that offers a discount.

Price: $19.95 a month. The 12 month pre-paid plan offers a discount.

This box is only available to ship to the US including Alaska and Hawaii and ships from Portland,

The good:

Variety: You get a wide variety of items and the box was packed!

Vegan: If your vegan the vegan box is great for you.

Gluten free: If you live a gluten free life the gluten free box would be great for you.

Information: They now include an information card with product details on it.

Points: You can earn points for rating products. The points earn you discounts should you want to purchase something you like.

The not so good:

The price: It's on the high side for subscription boxes but I would consider this a specialty box for sure.

Sample size: Some of the sample sizes are really small and not enough to really evaluate the product.

November Classic Conscious Box - Treat Yourself

(2) Naked Wines $100 voucher. - I have a ton of these cards. I've used one and it was a pretty good deal but I can't use the rest. If anyone wants one just email me at

Urban Remedy $15 voucher. - The juices have a minimum order and basically you have to spend $75 to use this.

The total approximate value of this months box is $18.12. The nice thing about this months box is that most everything is new to me. I'm very curious about the Berry Sleepy product. I don't have trouble sleeping in the daytime much anymore but now I have trouble at night during my days off. I think I'm going to give this a try. My mom has psoriasis so I'm going to pass on the Natralia products to her. She is always looking for new products to try. I'm debating if I want to order the free bottle of sweet wheat capsules. It's a 30 day supply for $8. I've have tried the Own products before and they were ok but nothing fantastic. All of the other stuff I'll use here and there.

Verdict: This box was a good one for me. I will get use out of everything in it.

November Urth Box

The Urth box tagline is "Discover a Healthier You". Well who doesn't want to do that? I recently found a deal on on Gilt for a 6 month subscription for $69. I thought for $12 a month, heck why not. Each month Urth box sends a box of healthy full size snacks for you to try. They have different types and sizes of boxes the choose from. You can choose a gluten free, diet, classic or vegan box. From that point you choose which size box you want. They have a small box (7-10 items) for $29 a month, medium box (12-15 items) for $39 a month, large box (20-24 items) for $59 a month. Shipping to US is included. If you choose a 3 or 6 month plan you can save up to $10 a month. So as you can see I got a really great deal on the small box plan.

Price: $29-$59 a month depending on size of box with discounts offered for 3 or 6 month subscriptions.

This box is available to US and Canada but extra shipping fees apply to Canada.

The Good:

Variety: They have a variety of boxes to choose from depending on your dietary needs.

Products: They send full size products which is awesome!

The Not So Good:

Price: The price is a little high for a monthly box.

Skip: It doesn't appear there any way to skip.

November Urth Box

Contents of the Urth Box:

2 oz. bag 180 degrees Cranberry Pomegranate Clusters. Value = $2.00

.9 oz. Goldbaum's Multigrain Quinoa Crisps. Value = $0.95 - I liked these a lot. I thought they were a perfect crunch while being light and delicious.

Snap Fusion Supercandy. Value = $1.99

1.06 oz. Pop Gourmet Cascade Mix Popcorn. Value = $1.60

(2) Smarty Pants Gummy Vitamins.  Value = $0.53/ea.

1.5 oz. Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips in Nacho flavor. Value = $1.30

2 oz. Lovely Candy Co Super Fruit Chews. Value = $1.67

Go Healthy New York Date Bar. Value = $1.40 - I didn't care for this but I'm not a fan of dates. The boyfriend thought it was ok though.

.74 oz. Laiki Black Rice Crackers. Value = $1.25 - These crackers are so good.

8 oz. Guru Natural Energy Drink. Value = $2.04

Kyotofu Vegan Brownie. Value = $1.00??

Hana Raspberry Shortbread Cookies. Value = $3.00??

The total value of this box is $19.26 give or take because I couldn't find the vegan items on the Kyoto website. This box had some pretty tasty snacks in it. This is the second box with the Laiki crackers in it but since they are so delicious I hope I get more in other boxes. I had already eaten a sweet snack for the night so I didn't try the vegan items but they looked ok. I tried to get the boyfriend to try it but he wouldn't touch it and mumbled something about brownies being natural. I'll get him to try it though.

Verdict: I really like the items in the box but I'm not liking the value. My last box from my deal will be in December and I don't think I will subscribe after that.

November Love with Food - Deluxe Box

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box filled with food. They now offer a deluxe size version of the box which contains 16-20 new snack foods. The price of this deluxe version is $19.95 a month with shipping included. You can also sign up for a 6 or 12 month plan each which will save you a couple of dollars a month. Also for each deluxe box purchased 2 meals are donated to hungry children in America. I decided to cancel my regular snack size box and subscribe to just this larger
size box.

Price: $19.95 a month with a discount for 6 and 12 month plans. No option to skip.

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from Santa Clara, California.

The good:

Bigger is better? I know some people don't like that the regular box is so small but it also comes with a small price tag. This deluxe box would be better suited for those with more than 2 people in their house. No more fighting over the tasty snacks!

Variety: You get a lot of variety in each box.

Discounts: You can earn points for discounts off future full size product purchases by submitting reviews on their website or referring new members.

The not so good:

I really can't think of anything I don't like about this box.

November Baby, It's Cold Outside Love with Food Deluxe Box

Contents of box with approximate retail value from Love with Food:

(2) 1.76 oz. Fruit Bliss Dried Mini Figs. Value = $1.83/ea.

(2) Jers Groupies Chocolate Milk Chocolate Peanut Cluster. Value = $1.25/ea.

(2) Guylian Marbled Signature Hazelnut Truffles. Value = $0.68/ea.

(2) .88 oz. Dick & Jane Baking Company States and Capitals Educational Snacks. Value = $0.90/ea.

(2) .74 oz. Grains of Health Laiki Red Rice Chips. Value = $1.25/ea.

(2) 1.5 oz. Chipz Happen Cinnful Sweet Heat Tortilla Chips. Value = $1.90/ea.

Brix Chocolate for Wine Extra Dark Brix Bite. Value = $0.68

Brix Chocolate for Wine Smooth Dark Brix Bite. Value = $0.68

Cisse Trading Co Dark Chocolate with Cinnamon with Cinnamon Hot Cocoa. Value = $2.17

Everyday with Rachael Ray 30 Fast & Fun Recipes. Value = $3.00??

Le Tote $25 off your first month. Value = $0.00

The total approximate value of this box is $31.15 for the food. I wasn't sure what to value the cookbook at since there is no price listed. The top says it's a supplement to EveryDay with Rachael Ray but I get that magazine and there was no mention of this. I valued it at $3.00 which would make the box value about $34.15. I didn't include the Le Tote gift card because the service is $50 a month and the clothing size doesn't go above a dress size of 12.
Let's talk about the box. I was super excited to see that almost everything in here was new to me. I am very curious about the red rice crackers. Whole Spice is a brand I use often but I've never tried their all purpose seasoning. I can't wait for this weekend. I am going to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee with my chocolate biscotti.

If you use my referral link you can try the LWF snack box for just $2 shipping!

Verdict:  This Love with Food box had lots of new stuff for us the try and the cookbook was a great bonus!

November GlossyBox

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends 5 travel size beauty items a month.  You can sign up monthly for $21/month, 6 months for $115 (breaks down to $19.16/month), or yearly for $220 (breaks down to $18.33/month).  Shipping is included in these prices. The price is higher than a lot of the other beauty companies but they include luxury items in their boxes. The company ships their boxes towards the end of the month so you will receive it at the end of the month or the beginning of the following month.

Price: $21 a month with discounts for 6 and 12 month subscriptions.

This subscription is available in the US (not including Alaska or Hawaii), Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

The good:

The brands: They have well known quality brands like OPI, Zoya, Burberry, C.O. Bigelow, Ahava, Sebastian and other brands specific to other countries.

The sizes: They send deluxe size samples and usually at least one full  size item.

The box: I know it's just a box but it's a really nice sturdy box. The regular boxes are pink and the special collaboration boxes vary in design and color. This box is perfect for reusing or for a gift box. I've also used them to store my extra beauty products.

Information. They provide information on the products you receive and how much the full size is priced at.  I like knowing this info up front and not having to search for it.

Free stuff: If you provide feedback on your products you earn glossydots which will eventually earn you a free box. You can also earn glossydots from referrals. You have to claim your free box before your subscription ends and becomes inactive. This can be tricky because you don't want to receive duplicate boxes.

The not so good:

The price: This can be a little high for some people but if you want to receive known/quality brands it's worth it.

Skip: There is no option to skip a month.

November GlossyBox

Contents of box w/approximate retail value.

.67 oz. Kneipp Herbal Bath: Balancing in Lavender. Value = $4.00

1.5 oz. 12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment. Value = $5.00

FULL SIZE So Susan Cosmetics Universal Blush Value = $23.29

FULL SIZE OPI Nail Laquer in Pink Outside the Box for GlossyBox. Value = $9.50

.5 oz. Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Moisturizer. Value = $11.25

The total value of my Glossybox is $53.04. Everything in this box was perfect for me except the blush. I don't normally wear blush but this color is really pretty and I think I could make it work with my skin color. The nail polish is a really light pink but it will be good to wear when my nails are short. The lighter the color the less noticeable the shortness is. I'm currently using this Juice Beauty moisturizer twice a day. I go to work when it's dark and I come home before the sun rises so I haven't been using SPF moisturizers. I'm all about hair treatments since my hair is colored and bleached. I try and use a mask once a week or so and I use leave in conditioners, argan oil, moroccan oil and all that good stuff to keep it healthy looking. It seems to work because my stylist says my hair is super healthy. The lavender bath stuff smells just like a lavender field. I had a goal at the beginning of the year to take bath once a week which was working for awhile but then life got in the way. I'm going to have to make an appointment with myself and relax with some lavender.

Verdict: Glossybox is pricier than other beauty boxes but it has great brands and value.

November Birchbox

Birchbox is a monthly subscription service for beauty items like makeup, skincare, fragrance, etc.  Each month you will receive 4-5 generously sized samples and sometimes full size beauty products.  The cost of this service is $10 w/shipping included.  They also have a yearly subscription which is $110 for the year bringing the cost down to $9.16 a month. I had canceled this subscription last year because I didn't like what they were sending me. A friend signed up and was getting some pretty cool items so I decided to sign up again.

Price: $10 a month or $110 a year pre-paid.

This subscription is available in the US only.

The good:

Name Brands.  You will receive items from Benefit, Stila, Pür, Essie, Kerastase, Tarte, etc.

Cost.  For $10 you can give yourself a little beauty treat.

Like surprises?  You don't know what's in your box until you receive it.  When you sign up you take a little quiz and the items in the box are supposed to be customized to you.  I have seen pictures of other peoples boxes and they do receive different items.

Discounts: They have a system where you earn points for referrals and things you buy.  The points allow you to receive discounts on future full size purchases from their shop.  They offer free shipping on items from the monthly box and a $5 flat shipping rate for items that don't qualify for free shipping.  This is a nice feature because if you want to order several different brands you get free or $5 shipping for everything.

Need a gift? You can gift a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription or you can purchase a gift card in any amount.  There also have a nice option with the gift subscriptions where you can choose to have the 1st box shipped you for giving and subsequent boxes will be shipped directly to the recipient.  Great birthday/holiday gift!

The not so good:

Skip a month?  Currently there is no option to skip a month only cancel.

November Birchbox

Contents of box with approximate retail price/value listed.

.7 oz. Amika Nourishing Hair Mask Value = $4.56

.079 oz. Cynthia Rowley Creamy Lip Stain in Heartthrob. Value = $9.30

1.35 oz. Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Lotion. Value = $2.53

.33 oz. Royal Apothic Cuppa Cuppa Firming Tea Treatment Mask. Value = $9.67

theBalm Cosmetics Cindy-Lou Manizer. Value = $1.60

Dang Toasted Coconut Chips. Value = $1.47 - I love getting these in boxes, they are so good!

The total value of this box is $29.13. This box was almost tailor made for me. The coconut chips are so good and calorie wise they are only 115 calories per serving. There is a lot of worse things I could eat that's for sure. I've used the Amika hair mask before and while I didn't notice life changing effects I didn't think it could hurt. Body lotion in a travel size is appreciated. Also the lip stain is perfect pocket size and the color is really nice. I love a good face mask and this cuppa cuppa mask is made with tea which I've heard is really good for the face. At first I thought the Cindy-Lou product was an eyeshadow but my friend pointed out that it's a highlighter. I think it could be used for both but I'll give the highlighter function a try.

The verdict: This box was perfect for me and the value is fantastic!

November PetBox - Dog box

I love all the different boxes out there for the fur babies but I stopped subscribing because Maddie had an overload of toys and snacks. I found a deal for a three month subscription to PetBox and I thought what the heck it's been awhile since she's received mail. PetBox is a monthly subscription offering items for your dog and or cat. You can choose to be surprised or you can pick the items out yourself. I'm guessing if you are subscribing for a dog and cat then picking out the items yourself would be beneficial. For this subscription I only signed Maddie up and chose the surprise me option. They offer 4 different size boxes ranging from $9.95-$59.95 a month with discounts offered for 3 months and 12 month plans. Shipping is included in all plans. This review is for the snack box.

Price: $9.95-$59.95 a month depending on size of box.

The good:

Pets - Lots of people have dogs and it can be hard to figure out what products work.  This is a great way to try stuff out without spending a ton of money.

Semi-customized - your 10lb. Chihuahua won't be receiving a toy larger than it's whole body.  (Although I know lots of Chihuahua's that like to think they are bigger than they are and would love the challenge)

Need a gift - It's like a shower gift for someone with a new fur baby.  How cool is that.  Congrats on your new bundle of fur, here's 3 months of goodies to get you started.

Pricing options: I like that they have different pricing structures with one as low at $9.95 a month.

Dog like surprises? - Dogs usually love surprises. Everything is a surprise to them.  They can join in the surprise fun with you when you open their box cause you won't know what you get until it gets to you.

Donation - They donate a weeks worth of food to a shelter each week.

Points: You earn points based on the size of the box you buy. I'm not sure if you get points every month or just once when you subscribe.

Need more goodies: You can redeem your points for more toys, treats, supplies, etc and add them to your box with no additional shipping fees.

The not so good:

Skip a month: There doesn't appear to be an option to skip.

Miss Maddie thinks all he boxes are for her. This time she was right. Her sniffer works like a champ and she was all over this box.

Ohhhh Maddie smells food.

November PetBox (snack box)

Contents of the PetBox:

Cocotherapy Fruit Crunch, freeze-dried fruit with coconut oil. Value = $11.65

Minty Double Tug (medium size). Value = $6.99

The total value of this box is $18.64. The regular monthly price of this box is $9.95. I was shocked to see how expensive the dog treat are. I could tell they weren't Maddie's favorite treat ever but she ate them anyway. They are little pieces of fruit so I'm thinking I will just add a little to her regular food to jazz it up a bit. The dog toy says it's minty so it will improve your dogs breath as they play with it. Maddie wasn't too interested in this toy but it could be because she was more interested in smelling the treats. I'll have to give it another try. If she doesn't like it I'm sure she has friends who will.

Verdict: I like the different sizes offered and that you can mix and match it for dogs and cats.

November Fancy - Food Box

The Fancy Food Box includes 5 or more gourmet artisan food products. The Fancy Food box is priced at $39.00 plus $7.95 shipping. This is a little high but if you are into food products they send out some really cool stuff and so far the value has been over the $48 price of the box. I also think this would make a great holiday gift for the food lover in your life.

Price $47.95 a month with no option to skip.

This subscription is available worldwide, shipping prices vary on location.

The good:

Sizes: You get full size food items! Also every now and then they throw in a kitchen gadget.

Information: They include a nice card with the product information and picture.

Products: They really do sent gourmet and artisan foods and products.

The not so good:

Skip: There is no option to skip a month, only cancel but the cancel process is online and super simple.

Price: The price is a little high but the value always surpasses the price paid.

November Fancy Food Box

Contents of The Fancy Food Box with approximate retail price listed:

McCLURE'S Kettle Cooked Potato Chips in Blood Mary. Value = $1.50

My Brother's Salsa in Cranberry Orange. Value = $6.99

Wing-Time Buffalo Wing Sauce. Value = $4.59

Three Jerks Original Filet Mignon Beef Jerky. Value = $14.99 - I can't believe how expensive this is but I guess it is made of filet mignon so there's that. The boyfriend liked it. I thought it was a little spicy.

Popbar Hot Chocolate on a Stick Vanilla Chocolate. Value = $2.99

Popbar Hot Chocolate on a Stick Milk Chocolate. Value = $2.99

Popbar Hot Chocolate on a Stick Dark Chocolate. Value = $2.99

The Cravery Cookies Birthday Cake Cookie. Value = $2.00

The Cravery Cookies Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie. Value = $2.00

The Cravery Cookies Salted Caramel Cream Cookie. Value = $2.00

The total value of this months box is $43.04. I have been having a serious craving for chicken wings. I would make them myself but I really don't want to fry them at home. Sometimes we bbq them then put the sauce on but it's just not the same. Has anyone tried the Philips air fryer? I was watching an infomercial last night (hazards of working nights) and they were advertising it. The reason I bring it up is because they made chicken wings that looked fantastic without all the oil. I really don't need another kitchen gadget but I am curious about it. The salsa looks like it would be good over a nice warm brie. Those cookies! Those cookies look sooooo good, especially the birthday cake one. I don't know what it is about sprinkles but they make everything look fun. The popbars I've had before and I'll be honest I'm just as happy putting them milk as I am eating it right off the stick.

Verdict: The Fancy boxes are always full of yummy things to try.

November Allure Sample Society Beauty Box

The Allure Sample Society beauty box is a monthly service for beauty products that promises 5 fresh deluxe sized samples from luxury brands designed for multiple uses.  You also receive a coupon each month for $15 off a $50 purchase from Beauty Bar and a 12 month subscription to Allure magazine.  The cost for this subscription is $15.00 a month with shipping included.

Price: $15.00 a month with no option to skip.

The good:

The samples: You get deluxe sized samples from luxury brands.

Magazine: You get a free 12 month subscription to Allure magazine.  If you already subscribe they will extend your subscription and if you don't want it you can mail in a form for a refund on the value ($12)

Coupon: They send you a coupon with each box for $15 off a $50 purchase. The catch is your order has to include at least one item from a brand you received that month.  It doesn't have to be the item you received just the same brand.

Referrals: It's a win/win. You get a $5 credit on your account or you can donate that to charity and the person you refer gets a 20% discount on their first purchase at Beauty Bar.

The not so good:

Skip a month: There is no option to skip a month, only cancel.

Subscription discounts: They don't offer discounts for multiple months unless you gift a 12 month subscription. Then you get 12 months for the price of 11.

November Sample Society Box

Contents of box with approximate retail value.

1 oz. Malin + Goetz Bergamot Body Wash. Value = $2.25

.04 oz. Calvin Klein Reveal. Value = $1.97

.20 oz. Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Omega+ Nourishing Oil. Value = $4.49

.14 oz. Lorac Cobra Mascara. Value = $11.43

.17 oz. MD Solar Sciences MD Créme Mineral Beauty Balm. Value = $5.39

The total value of this box is $25.53. This box is just ok for me. Normally I would be excited by the mascara but I'm swimming in the stuff. I will use the body wash and I actually like the little bottles of sunscreen moisturizer. They are great for traveling and it allows me to try different brands. I have a ton of little perfume vials but I actually like them. I have them in a little bowl in my bathroom and not only do they look fun in the bowl I get to try new scents. The hair oil I will use but it's a tiny bottle. I have thick hair so it may not last me too long.

Verdict: This was just an ok box. Some good products but nothing super exciting.

November Taste Trunk - Gourmet Trunk

Taste Trunk is a food based subscription box. I love food, especially gourmet food so I didn't hesitate to sign up for this box. Taste Trunk actually has four different themed trunks you can purchase. They are Gourmet, Health, Sweet and BBQ trunk. I love that they have something for everyone. I was torn between the BBQ one and the Gourmet one but ended up choosing the Gourmet one. The nice thing about Taste Trunk allows you to switch your boxes at anytime. I keep thinking I'm going to try the BBQ one at some point but I'm really liking this trunk.

Price: $35.00 a month with no option to skip.

The good:

Products: The items in my box are gourmet and full size.

Info: They send info cards with products information and recipes.

Variety: I love that they have four different themed boxes.

Want more: They have an online store where you can purchase more of the things you love.

Change it up: Want a different trunk next month. You can change your trunks by emailing them

The Not So Good:

Skip: Doesn't look like there is a way to skip, only cancel.

Referral program: They have one but you have to enter the persons full name when you check out and they get 10% off their next box. I like referral programs that use links and have discounts or bonus items for both people.

November Fancy Food Box

Contents of The Fancy Food Box with approximate retail price listed:

Beer Flats Porter Crackers. Value = $6.99

Gourmet Du Village Rosemary Garlic Bread Dipping Oil. Value = $8.50

Northwest Finest Chicken & Thyme Soup. Value = $4.95

San Francisco Salt Company Hawaiian Lava Salt. Value = $5.39

Cucina & Amore Peruvian Huancaína Veggie Sauce. Value = $7.00

The total value of this months box is $32.83. I have never heard of Huancaína veggie sauce. My family is pretty good about eating their veggies but anything to make them more exciting is always appreciated. I'm not a big fan of dark beer so I'm hoping these crackers don't have a dark beer flavor. I'm not sure what to put on it. I'm thinking some type of robust heavy cheese. Soup mixes are always great to have on hand. With our non-traditional working hours keeping stuff like this on hand to throw in a crockpot is always handy. I love trying different salts, no joke I probably have 12 different varieties of salts in my pantry. I'm surprised I don't have Hawaiian lava salt already but I don't. I also love dipping bread in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. In addition to different salts I have several flavors of olive oil and balsamic vinegars on hand at all times. I think I'm going to make a gift of this bread dipping oil. A little bread bowl packaged with this oil would be cute.

Verdict: I may not have actively gone out and searched for these items but they are definitely things I want to try.

November Cricut Mystery Box

Cricut is a personal electronic cutting machine used in card making, scrapbooking, and crafting of all types. Cricut started selling mystery boxes which when they contain the cartridges are a terrific value! The cartridges that are needed to use the machine run anywhere from $30-$60 a piece. As you can see, adding to your collection of cartridges can add up quick.

The description said: The October Mystery Box. The contents are a mystery, but the box includes cartridges and supplies to keep you crafting all winter long. This month's mystery box is over a $120 value.

The price of this months cricut mystery box was $29.99 plus shipping of $7.95. This month they has a deal. Buy two boxes and get $10 off and I found a code for free shipping. The total cost of both boxes were $53.61 or $26.80 each. I bought an extra because I had a feeling my friend might want this one. If she doesn't no worries. I'm sure I can find someone who wants it or there is always eBay.

Cricut German Carbide Premium replacement blade. Value = $12.99/7.79

Wrap It Up cartridge. Value = $39.99/14.99

Teddy Bear Parade cricut lite cartridge. Value = $39.99/19.99

The total value of this box is $120.94 or $54.54 using the current sale prices. Finally the box met the promised $120 value. Even though all of this stuff is on sale I know they are basing the value on regular price. Luckily I don't have either one of the these cartridges so they had value to me. The cuttables material lets you cut out stencils. A lot of people will use them to paint walls, fabrics, windows or whatever they want a stenciled picture on. The overlay is used with the older cricut machines and the new cartridges. I already have one and since you only need one I don't really have a use for this. The replacement place is more durable than their regular blades so I'm cool with having this on hand. The tool organizer is cute but as of right now I don't have a dedicated craft space in my house so I don't have anywhere to put it. The Wrap It Up cartridge has lots of various images and tag cutouts. The Teddy Bear care has all kinds of bears in different costumes.

Verdict: If you are into Cricut and don't have a lot of cartridges the mystery boxes with cartridges in them is a great deal.

November Beauty Box 5 - Gracefully Grounded

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription service for beauty products including makeup, skin care, fragrances, nail care, body care, beauty tool and just about anything else beauty related.  Each month you receive 4-5 samples of beauty related items.  They have three ways to subscribe.  You can pay monthly for $12 a month, or quarterly $30 which brings the price down to $10 a month or yearly for $100 which brings the price down to $8.33 a month.  Shipping is included in all these prices.

Price: $12 a month with no option to skip. Discounts for 3 and 12 month plans.

This subscription ships the the US and Canada from Austin, Texas.

The good:

The brands.  Well known brands including some eco-friendly ones.

The pricing structure.  I like the options they have, monthly, quarterly and yearly.  Even the quarterly gives you a little bit of a discount.

Information: They have started including an information cards on the products in the boxes which I love

The not so good:

Skip a month. Currently there is no option for this.  If you want to skip you have to cancel.

November Beauty Box 5 - Gracefully Grounded

Contents of box with approximate retail value.

After feather 2 oz. Refillable Travel bottle. Value = $4.48

DenTek Floss Picks + Case. Value = $1.25

18 ml HASK Macadamia Revitalizing Shine Oil. Value = $2.99

Laura Ashley Sweet Peony Body Butter. Value = $3.33

1.8 oz. Dove Deep moisture Body Wash. Value = $2.27

The total approximate value of this month's box is $14.32. I thought they curated a great travel box. I like the dental picks box, although carrying a box of floss is just as easy but I'm still going to use this. I love macadamia and organ oil and when I travel I usually don't take it with me because I have a large bottle. I think I will use this and just refill it from my larger bottle. The Dove body wash is also perfect travel size which I love. At first I wasn't to into the refillable travel bottle but I don't hassle with the bag and bottles carryon rules. It's just easier not to take it. The bottle is really pretty though so I'm going to fill it with something, mouthwash maybe?

Verdict: I'm super happy with this months box. It had items I will definitely use.

November Rainbow Honey - large mystery bag

Rainbow Honey is a nail polish that is sold mostly online. I believe they have one retailer in the US in San Diego, CA. Each Rainbow Honey mystery bag will have sneak peaks and preview of new lacquers, unreleased samples of future collections and exciting new products made by the Rainbow Honey Lab! They have two sizes of mystery bag mini and full size. The mini mystery bag is $10 plus shipping which I think is $3.95. The full size  mystery bag is $25 and includes shipping. The difference between the two bags, besides price is size of the products. The mini mystery bag will have the mini size bottles of nail polish and smaller versions of whatever is included in the bag. I debated on which one to get because I actually like the smaller bottle of nail polish. I have so many polishes that I never finish a bottle so the small ones are perfect for me. Then I thought for only $11 more I can get full size versions of everything. Decisions, decisions. Finally I decided on the full size mystery bag.

Price: Small $13.95, Full size $25. Also available as a free gift with $65 purchase.

The good:

Price: $25 is kind of a lot on a subscription but $14 (with shipping) isn't so bad. I like that  they have two different price points.

Love what you got: The have a website full of stuff you can order.

Booklet: The include a booklet with info on the products.

The not so good:

Skip a month: I don't see a skip option

All the nail goodies in this months large mystery bag.

The nail polishes included. It was hard to get he colors to show up since they are so dark.

Contents of the large mystery bag.

FULL SIZE nail polish in Aurora inspired by the Aurora Borealis, gleaming glitter polish with green and blue fluorescent hues, packed with silver, gold, diamond dust, shimmers and pigments. Value = $10.00

FULL SIZE nail polish in Grayscale, a modern graphite lacquer packed with white crushed diamond and silver glitters. Value = $10.00

FULL SIZE Frozen Flame cuticle oil. Value = $12.00

FULL SIZE Frozen Flame Perfume Oil Rollerball. Value = $12.00

FULL SIZE lemon honey nourishing lip balm. Value = $5.00

FULL SIZE Frozen Flame Hand Sanitizer. Value = $??

The value of the mystery bag is at least $49.00 plus whatever the hand sanitizer is. It's a new product for Rainbow Honey so they don't have a price listed yet. I use some type of cuticle oil almost everyday so I was happy with this. The scent is also not too strong. I can't place it but it's familiar to me.  It's not musky, fruity or flowery. I'm not too sure about the gray nail polish color. It's definitely a winter color but I like a little more color on my nails. The blue looks really pretty though. The hand sanitizer is quite a large bottle. I'll be honest I'm not to into hand sanitizer on a daily basis. I carry a small bottle in my purse but I have friends that practically bathe in the stuff and guess what? they get sick at least a few times a year. The last time I had a cold was 2 years ago. Say what you will but I think some germ exposure is a good thing.

Verdict: I still enjoy these bags and I now have quite a large RH collection.

November ipsy bag - Girl Meets Glitter

Ipsy bag sends out 4-5 samples and a makeup bag for $10 a month with shipping included. If you sign up yearly it's $110 which brings the price down the $9.16 a month with shipping included.  I've been with them since 2011 and this is one subscription I am for sure keeping. They constantly have a high product value with products that I use.

Price: $10 a month with no option to skip. Discount offered for a yearly subscription.

This subscription is available to the US and Canada and ships from Harrisburg, NC.

The good:

The samples: Usually you get at least one full size product in each bag.

The packaging: Each month the products come in a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

Discounts: The almost always offer a discount on any additional purchases you want to make.

Semi-customized: You take a little quiz and your bag is semi-customized with products you will enjoy.

Points: You can earn points for reviews and referrals. You can redeem points for extra goodies in your bag.

The not so good:

Skip a month? There is no option to skip a month.  You have to cancel.

Renewal. If your a yearly subscriber they automatically charge your credit card for another year when the paid for year is up. I think they should sent out an email prior reminding you that your year is almost up and it will automatically renew.

Girl Meets Glitter Bag.

This picture doesn't do the bag justice. It's sparkly!

Contents of bag with value and approximate retail price:

2 oz. Cake Beauty Be Delectable vanilla & cream body wash. Value = $2.50

.17 oz. CK one high-shine lip gloss in tender. Value = $11.11

Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine Waterproof Eyeliner in glitterati. Value = $17.99

.11 IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye waterproof concealer. Value = $9.45

Nicole by OPI in guys & galaxies, exclusive to ipsy. Value = $9.50

Silver sparkly makeup bag.

The approximate value of this months bag is $50.55. This was really a fun bag this month. First off the glitter makeup bag is so sparkly and pretty. The body wash is something I will use for sure and it smells yummy. I love the little size lip glosses because I never finish a full size tube and they are pocket perfect. At first I didn't think I would keep the waterproof eyeliner because generally I don't like waterproof and I thought it was black but they I looked closer and it's black glitter. Gotta keep that one. I don't normally wear concealer but I had a sample of Benefit erase paste and one day I was sporting some pretty dark under eye circles so I have it a try. I have to admit that stuff worked! I'm going to hold on to this little bottle and I hope it works just as well. I was always super happy to see the nail polish. It matches the sparkly bag perfectly and it's perfect for the holidays!

Verdict: This months bag was fantastic!

November PopSugar Must Have

The PopSugar Must Have Box is a monthly subscription box that is geared toward many aspects of your lifestyle.  It includes, food, beauty, fashion, tech, and all kinds of other treasures. The price of the box is $39.95 a month w/shipping included.  They also have 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions and each one saves you a little bit of money.

Price: $35.78-$39.95 a month with no option to skip.

This subscription is available in the US only and ships from Gilroy, Ca.

The good:

Products: Full size products as promised and a nice variety of beauty, home etc.

Booklet: The include an info booklet in each box about the products.

Pricing structure: They have monthly, 3, 6 and yearly subscriptions.  Each one (except monthly) saves you a little bit of money.

Referrals: The offer a generous referral program.  Refer 2 people get a month free. 5 people 3 months free and 10 people is 6 months free.  I've was super lucky and 10 people used my referral link so I got 6 months free way back when I first started subscribing.

The not so good:

The price: $40 is a little high for a monthly box but you do get some really cool stuff with a value of way more than $40

Skip a month: There is no option to skip, only cancel.

Max Referrals: They only reward you for the first 10 referrals. I think they're referral program is very generous but I would like to see something beyond 10 referrals. Maybe some type of point system or discount.

November PopSugar Must Have

Contents of box with approximate retail price:

The Secret Recipes by Dominique Ansel. Value = $35.00

Sorial Saffiano Wallet on a Chain. Value = $49.00

K. Hall Simpatico Ambergris Shea Butter Cream. Value = $22.00

Tiny Prints Thoughtful Hearts Stationary, exclusively for PopSugar. Value = $15.00

Coupon for $25.00 off Tiny Prints. Value = $25.00 (shipping costs $6-$9)

Wine Glass Writer 3 pack, exclusively for PopSugar. Value = $9.95

G.H. Cretors Chicago Mix Popper Corn. Value = $3.69

The value of this box is $134.64 or $159.64 with the coupon from Tiny Prints. I had seen spoilers for this box but I was still in awe when I saw the cookbook. This is right up my alley. I love cookbooks like this. I love the writing, the food styling, the recipes, all of it. This book is absolutely stunning! I also liked the wallet/purse more than I thought I would. I'm not sure it's worth $50 but it's a nice purse that can be used as a crossbody. My first thought was that it would be perfect to take on cruises.  I usually take my small handheld but a small crossbody would be nice. It fits my iPhone, some cash and ID without being bulky. You can also use it in a large purse for items you don't want to get lost. The hand cream looks fancy but the description says it's a sweet musky scent and I'm not too into musky scents. I may just trade it for something I know I will like. The note cards are cute but I have lots of note cards, they might make a nice gift though coupled with a nice pen. The wine glass markers are super cool. I have little jewels on the bottom of my glasses but I can never remember which color is mine. I am assuming this works on any glass and we have a kegerator and beer glasses. At parties people are always miss placing their beer. This will solve all their (and my) problems!

Verdict: This months PopSugar had me at the cookbook. Love it!

PopSugar Must Have - Neiman Marcus Special Edition

Recently PopSugar put up their Neiman Marcus special edition box. This box is the most expensive box they offer priced at $250!! Last year they promised a value of at least $600 but this year they didn't say. I debated on getting this box this year because it's so darn expensive. I went ahead and ordered it hoping I would get some gifts out of it.

This is the box it shipped in. It's a nice sturdy box that can be reused.

As always, the special edition box comes with silver tissue paper.

Each item is individually wrapped making the experience of opening it even more exciting.

Here are the items in the box minus the clutch.

The Clare V. foldover clutch.

The clutch fully opened on the blue side. The other side is black.

Contents of the PopSugar Neiman Marcus box with prices from Neiman Marcus, second price listed is current sale price as of this writing:

Swing Design Mia Glass Storage Box (medium). Value = $40.00/$28.00

Clare V. Foldover Clutch. Value = $220.00

Missoni Home by Apothia Candle in Marrema. Value = $88.00

Monica Rich Kosann Cream Enamel Frame for 5x7 photo. Value = 100.00

Marilee Aztec Hot Chocolate Tin. Value = $26.00

Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in Love. Value = $33.00

Chantecaille Supreme Cils Mascara. Value = $52.00

Lancer, The Method: Nourish. Value = $125.00

The total value of this special edition box is $684.00 or $672.00 with the sale price of the storage box. This is a great value but I'm just not sure about this box. It has some fun items but then I think I would never spend $88 on a candle and why in the heck is this candle $88 anyway. I guess if you consider it serves a dual purpose because the container is reusable then it's not so bad but it's still not something I would buy. The storage box is really pretty and I'm sure I will find a use for it. The photo frame is nice but I would never spend $100 on a 5x7 photo frame. Again I'm not even sure what makes it a $100 frame, although it is silver plated. I will definitely use the hot chocolate this summer. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the mascara was $52, I would never spend that much on mascara but not I'm super curious about it. Same goes for the face cream. $125, better work miracle for that price. The big ticket item is the clutch which I half to admit is really, really soft leather. I like the colors but I am so not a clutch girl. I'm going to have to try and figure out what I want to do with this. Maybe I should learn to adapt and be a clutch girl because it really is soft and pretty.

Verdict: This box definitely had a great value but I'm not sure the items in it are a fit for me. I think I'm going to have to play with the clutch and see if I could get used to it.

November Blush Beauty Mystery Box

Blush is a company that is associated with Dermstore and Blush offers a monthly mystery beauty box.  You can make a one time purchase for $34.95 or subscribe monthly for $24.95.  Both prices include shipping. It made absolutely no sense to me to pay $10 more when I could just cancel the subscription if I didn't like it.  Each month Blush says they will send a box full of products handpicked by their panel of beauty experts of mostly full size and some travel-size products worth at least $100.

Price: $24.95-$34.95 a month with no option to skip.

I believe this subscription is available to the US only, they don't really say on their website.

The good:

Price: If they continue to send great products with a value of at least $100 that's 4 times the value.

Want more: Since they have a retail website reordering is easy and all these products were easily found.

The not so good:

Price: This is one of the higher priced subscriptions but the products are usually high end.

Skip: Their website is not user friendly.  I couldn't find an option to skip or cancel.

November Blush Beauty Mystery Bag.

Contents of Blush box w/approximate retail price listed:

FULL SIZE Julien Farel Haircare Hydrate Restore. Value = $33.00

.1 oz. Miracle Skin Transformer Face Spotlight BB Cream. Value = $3.20

FULL SIZE Lauren B. Beauty Nourishing Hand Créme with Orchid and Peony. Value = $24.00

2 oz. Traditions by Nick Chavez Prickly Pear Restoring Mist leave in conditioner. Value = $6.00

.17 oz. Laura Geller Beauty Cool Lids Cream Shadow in Silver Sands. Value = $12.42

.07 Skinmedica TNS Eye Repair. Value = $14.00

FULL SIZE Jane Iredale Eye Gloss in Aqua Silk. Value = $15.50

.54 oz. Nuxe Clarifying Cream-Mask with Rose Petals. Value = $9.29

The total value of of this blush beauty bag is a $117.41. This box had a lot of stuff I'm going to use. The only thing I probably won't use is the BB cream but it's a super small tube so I'm not worried about it. I received this same Julien Farel product but in zero frizz formula. I don't have a real issue with frizz so I haven't used it yet. I would be curious what the difference is in formula. The Jane Iredale eye gloss is really blue in the tube so I thought it would be too bright but when I swatched it on my hand it definitely smoothed out. I also like the Laura Geller color but I swear I have that color already somewhere in my stash.

Verdict: Blush beauty always has a great value and often sends 2-3 full size products.

Blue Apron Box

Blue Apron is a weekly delivery service of fresh ingredients to make meals. I've tried it a couple of times and done price breakdowns to see if it's worth the money or should I just go to the store and buy the stuff myself. What I figured out is you're not getting an incredible deal but you are getting convenience and it doesn't cost much more than if you went and bought all the stuff yourself.

Blue Apron (named after the blue aprons apprentice chefs in France used to wear) sends fresh ingredients to make 3 meals that will serve 2-6 people each week. This is how is works. Once you sign up you can choose to receive meat and fish or vegetarian dishes and you choose how many servings (2,4 or 6) you want for each dish. You will receive 3 meals per week with enough ingredients for the servings you request. The prices vary depending on what you order. For 2 people it's $59.94, 4 people is $119.88 and 6 people is $179.82 per week with shipping included. This works out to $9.99 per meal per person. It's less than going to a restaurant but may more than going to the grocery store and getting the ingredients yourself. They send out the menus weekly and you can also log on to your account and skip deliveries 6-8 weeks in advance. I went into my account and skipped all the weeks because I would rather skip and miss something than forget to skip and get something I don't want. I can't justify getting this every week so I look at our calendar to see what kind of week is coming up and if the menu looks good and it's a busy week I will unskip the week. If it's not a busy week, the menu isn't my thing or we are going to be out of town I leave it as skipped.

The good:

Busy: This is great for busy people. The ingredients are fresh, on hand and the meals take on average 35 min to prepare.

Don't cook?: The included recipe cards are not only beautiful they have very easy to follow instructions complete with pictures.

Counting Calories: The calorie info is included and each meal is 500-700 per serving.

Ingredients: fresh ingredients from artisan purveyors with an emphasis on sustainable practices

Need a specific delivery day: You can choose between Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and even Saturday delivery. Also the food is well packed on ice packs in an insulated box.

The not so good:

Price: It's a bit pricey but you're paying for convenience.

Organic, free range, grass fed: I couldn't find anywhere where these types of items were used. I also went to the Tradesman Premium Cuts website and it looks like it's specific for Blue Apron but doesn't have a whole lot of info about it. I usually buy grass fed, free range meats because I think it taste better and I feel better about eating it.

This is the shipping box. Inside is insulation and cold packs.

Parmesan-Crusted Chicken w/Kale Ceasar Salad and Toasted Hazelnuts.

The finished dish.

Rice Flake-Crusted Salmon with Miso-Smashed Japanese Sweet Potatoes & Mustard Greens.

The finished dish.

Cheesy Broccoli Rotini Casserole

I forgot to take a picture of my finished dish so this is a photo from Blue Apron. The finished dish looked almost exactly like this only in a square dish.

Parmesan-crusted chicken salad - I really liked this. I am definitely going to keep that recipe and make it again. Even the boyfriend ate it and he's not a kale person.

Rice flake-crusted salmon - This one I was excited to try but I actually didn't care much for it. The salmon itself was delicious but the rice flakes added way too much crunch to the fish. The sweet potatoes were delicious but the mustard greens were very bitter. I ended up salting them more and eating them with a bite of potatoes which made them much better.

Cheesy Broccoli Rotini Casserole - I actually messed up this recipe which you would think would be impossible. I guess that's what happens when you try and cook after working all night. I only put in one cup of milk and it called for 2 cups so while it wasn't as creamy as it could have been I thought it was pretty good. I had added pasta water to the sauce so while it could have been creamier it wasn't dry. The recipe said to use a 10x7 pan which I don't have so I used an 8x8 pan. It also says it serves 3 but I made a salad to go with it and cut the dish into 4 squares. I thought it worked out great. I would make it again but maybe add some chicken or tuna.

I'm not going to do a complete price breakdown like I did on my first review. If you want to read it click here. For me, I feel like there is value in these meals and they are working out great for those busy weeks. I logged into my account and skipped all weeks. When Blue Apron sends out the email with the menu information I can simply go back into my account and unskip. This works for me and I'm less likely to get a shipment I didn't want.

Verdict: I'm enjoying the food and flexibility of this subscription.
