OuiPlease Volume 1.1 Paris, I Miss You

I was at work today and received an email from FedEx saying my OuiPlease box was delievered. I tell ya I couldn't wait to get home and open it. So after my errands were done and dinner was made I was able to sit down with my OuiPlease box and carefully open it.

If you haven't heard of OuiPlease it's the newest and much anticipated subscription box to hit the market. I think a big reason for all the chatter about the box is because of the price. The OuiPlease box ships 6 times a year and a single box is $175, a month-to-month subscription will run you $150 and a yearly subscription is $650. Now those prices are super high but the company announced that the first box would be valued at over $400. For a subscription box lover the temptation was too great. I was debating on which box to buy when a gift from the subscription box fairies fell out of the sky. I came upon a 20% discount code that worked for all levels of membership. The discount brought the yearly subscription down to $520.00 or $87.00 a box. I know it was a super duper splurge, especially at this time of year but since I'm a girl I can talk myself into and justify almost any indulgent purchase.

Per the OuiPlease website your special delivery will feature a surprise selection of products, including the very best France has to offer in beauty, jewelry, accessories, apparel, home and epicure.

Price: $108-$175 every two months depending on subscription commitment.

The Good:

Luxury products: The boxes are filled with name brands that would be considered luxurious.

Variety: This box isn't just beauty products. It will have jewelry, apparel, home goods, etc.

Information: They include their own magazine that talks about the products in the box as well as other products and even an interview with Chef Johann Giraud.

Pricing Structure: They offer one-time, monthly or yearly subscriptions. It would be nice to see a 6 month (3 box) subscription tier.

The Not So Good

Price: The price is way high but at the same time you will hopefully get what you pay for.

Referrals: I would like to see a referral program. If you can convince someone to spend this much money on a box you should get a little thank you treasure.

Since this is the first box of this subscription I took a whole bunch of pictures to try and give you the full experience.
This is the shipping box. It's hard to see but the tape used on the edges is a black fabric tape.

When I opened the shipping box this paper was on top.

When I removed the paper there was an envelope on top of another box.

This note was in the envelope.

This is the second box. It's hard sided and definitely could and should be reused.

After removing the ribbon and tissue paper this is what I saw.

This is the first item I took out. I wasn't sure what it was but it turned out to be perfume.

This perfume comes in a really nice case and a really interesting bottle.

Julie Sion bracelet

Sothys products adn a OuiPlease soap.

Truffle salt and Le Benefique tea.

Tassia Canellis earrings in light blue.

Charlottesometime leather wallet.

Christian Lacroix planner and PopUp candle.

Contents of the Volume 1.1 OuiPlease Box:

Alexandre.J Western Leather Perfume. Value = $150.00 - This is some really extravagant packaging. What do you do with the bottle when it's empty. I certainly wouldn't toss it.

Julie Sion bracelet. Value = $?? - I can't find this bracelet anywhere online and it's not in the magazine. - I actually like this bracelet, it's simple yet adds color.

Sothys Paris Soothing Lotion. Value = $30.00

Sothys Paris Refreshing Gel for Legs. Value = $20.00

Mineroche OuiPlease Scented Soap Stone. Value = $7.00

Maison de la Truffe Grey Salt from Guerande with Summer Truffle. Value = $25.00 - love, love love!

Le Benefique Tea. Value = $5.00 - I found this really interesting. It's handpicked dried herbs used for tea. The magazine also gave instructions for infusion vodka.

Tassia Canellis earrings. Value = $45.00 - These are so dainty and pretty. They are fantastic everyday earrings.

Charlottesometime leather wallet. Value = $40.00 - This is something I will totally use. I sometimes carry a small purse and don't want to carry my bulky wallet. This will be a nice addition to be purse/wallet collections.

Christian Lacroix Glam'Azonia 2015 Dated Diary. Value = $30.00

PopUp Scented Candle. Value = $35.00 - Every 50 candles has a .10-.25 oz. kimberly certified diamond in it. I really hope mine has a diamond.

The value of this inaugural box is at least $417.00. I say at least because the bracelet I received wasn't in the magazine or online. The bracelets start at $30 so that's what I added but it could be more.
My first thoughts; when I first opened the box I could smell truffle. I love truffle everything so I was going to be happy with whatever item I got. Turns out it was truffle salt which is delicious. I was surprised there wasn't an apparel item in the box like the website said there would be. I'm kind of happy about it because the sweatshirts that were included aren't my style. I was happy to get the Sothys products. I know The French Box had some makeup items from them but the spa I go to started advertising they carry Sothys and it seemed to be a big deal. I would like to have received a face mask or shower gel instead of leg gel but I'm going to try it anyway. I like Christian Lacroix but I don't used dated planners. It's cute but not useful to me so I'll trade it.

Things others got that I would've like are clutch but only if it has the chain. The passport case looked fun although I already have one so while I like it I'm kind of glad I didn't get it. I thought the tea spoon was cool, even though I have lots of loose leaf tea holders I don't have one like this. Maybe I can find someone who has this and trade for it.

After seeing what others got and what I got there are a couple of items I would change but overall I really like my box and it was a fantastic value at $87.00

Verdict: It's a lot of money but it definitely has value and some very luxurious items ($150.00 fancy boxed perfume?!?). I am definitely looking forward to the February box.
