February Little Black Bag

LBB baited me with their buy one pair of shoes get two free promotion. It just seemed like too good a deal to pass up. The catch was that the shoes are all sales final, no exchanges and no returns. I opened my bag with a pair of boots which cost me $48.90 after tax and shipping. While my bag was open they sent me an email saying they have fixed all their warehouse issues with sending the wrong items and products being out of stock and info about their new guarantee if something you traded for ends up being out of stock. With the email they sent a code for $20 off. I figured since I had an open bag I would do an add to bag purchase which ended up costing me $7.31 out of pocket. I also had an exchange item that I ended up using. This bag ended up costing me $56.31.

Existing members are automatically VIP members. The basics of the VIP memberships is that you are charged $9.95 a month which you can put towards a bag or save your credits and open a bag when you're ready. If you don't want to be charged just be sure and skip by the 5th of every month. If you do end up getting charged they money just sits in your account until you are ready to use it.

Shipping is $5.95 in the US except Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO and Puerto Rico is $11.95 and Canada is $15.95.

The good:

Like to shop? It's fun looking though the gallery and picking out treasures. I have found trading to be extremely slow so I would say don't count on being able to trade your items quickly.

The value:  Your bag is guaranteed to be worth more than you paid.

The brands. The brands range from very well known to not so well known with price ranges to match and they are always adding more.  Also they add new products a few times a week.

Multiple treasures:  You can score multiple treasures and use them for gifts at a fraction of the cost.

Variety. They have handbags, sunglasses, cell phone cases, iPad cases, earrings, wallets, nail polish, home items, etc.  You will find something you like.

The price:  Depending on what you open your bag with the price is very fair.

Received your items but didn't like it:  LBB will let you return the item for an exchange or refund.

Referral program. They just changed their referral program so now when you refer people they get 25% off and you get a item worth $50 in your bag. What a great deal!

The not so good:

Pictures: They show pictures of the items and list the sizes but I would like to see them on a model (real or fake) to see the scale.  I have received a couple of pairs of earrings that were bigger than I thought they were going to be.

Want more, more more?:  For now you can only open one bag at a time however there is no limit to the number of bag you can open.

This is what the screen looks like just before you hit purchase. It shows me the item I picked, the VIP gifts, the stylists picks and I also had a referral item added to my bag.

Here is what happens after you click purchase. The first item are the shoes I picked, the second item are one of my free pair of shoes which I thought weren't bad at all. The earrings are a stylist pick. You can see the little button that says more, click that to see the rest of your bag.

Here is the second page of my bag. My second pair of free shoes (kinda cool), the eyeliner is a stylist pick and I had a referral item (Thanks Anne S.!) which ended up being the 4th pair of shoes.

This is what a trade looks like. I accepted this trade because I figured I would use the black pair more than the snake print ones.

I opened my bag with these boots but this offer was too good to pass up. I'll probably break a leg in these heels but I'll look good doing it!

I used my $20 credit to add this to my bag. It ended up costing me $7.31 extra.

Here is what my final bag looked like after seven days of trading (minus the shoes). The handcuff necklace was an exchange item** and I added the Hello Kitty hat and scarf to my bag with the credit they gave me.

If you send an item back for an exchange it sits in your account until you exchange it. The items you can exchange it for sometimes change daily so I check it all the time to see if there is anything I want. If you have an open bag you can just exchange the item and it gets added to your bag. If you don't have an open bag you can still exchange the item but you have to pay shipping.

Here are all the shoes I ended up with. The boots are real leather and super comfy, the heels are super sexy and the loafers are just too dang cute. Sometimes you just want to wear flats with a little sparkle.

All my Little Black Bag Treasures with retail price listed:

Loungefly Hello Kitty iPhone 5 Case. Value = $30.00 - I actually don't use a case on my phone because I like being able to see the gold exterior but I wanted a case to use when traveling.

HEX 15" Macbook Pro Sleeve. Value = $40.00 - I have a laptop bag but I wanted a sleeve for those times when I didn't want to bring the whole bag.

NCLA nail polish Buillon in a Bottle. Value = $16.00 - I thought this was a really pretty color.

Jules Smith Frisky Charm Necklace. Value = $59.00 - This was an exchange item so it really doesn't count towards the value of the bag.

Clairol Pro 4Flex Mousse. Value = $11.00 - I know items like this aren't popular but it's something I will definitely use.

Hello Kitty Hat & Scarf Set. Value = $50.00 - I was trying to trade for this but was having no luck. I didn't want to pay $25 for it because I don't really need it (of course I don't really need any of this stuff). Using the credit LBB gave me may it only $7 so I was totally ok with that.

Wanted Mallory Oxfords. Value = $60.00 - I thought these shoes were super cute. I have no idea where I will where them but I think they will look great with a pair of black pants.

Vince Camuto Graysen Booties. Value = $149.00 - Oh my goodness these are so much cuter in person. I like that they are real leather which usually seem to end up fit better.

Jessica Simpson Devin Pumps. Value = $99.99 - I still don't have any idea where I will wear these but I couldn't resist them.

The total value of this bag is $365.99. This doesn't include the Hello Kitty Scarf since I added it with a credit, the Jules Smith necklace since it was an exchange or the Macbook sleeve since I traded my original referral item for this. Not too shabby for a $50 investment. The shoes alone are worth $50! I am so glad all the shoes fit since they are all sales final. I love my Hello Kitty scarf it's soooo cute. The Jules Smith necklace is nice quality and not flimsy metal. The HEX product was advertised as a Macbook sleeve but it says it will fit any 15" laptop. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like it will fit just fine.

Verdict: Trading was a little slow but I ended up with items I love for a fantastic price!
