October Taste Guru

Do you live a gluten free lifestyle? Or maybe you know someone who is gluten free? Taste Guru is a whole box of food that is gluten free. Taste Guru came about when the co-founder was diagnosed with celiac disease. Many of the gluten free foods they found tasted like cardboard and generally didn't taste very good. Through trial and error they found foods they love and mealtimes became enjoyable again. Each month Taste Guru sends out a box of 7-10 full size gluten free foods that have been tested and reviewed by those who live a gluten free life. The box is shipped monthly and the prices ranges from $25 to $34 a month depending on which plan you sign up for. All plans include shipping.

This box ships to the USA only from Denver, Colorado.

The good:

Gluten free made easy: This is a great way to try a whole bunch of gluten free foods.

Need a gift: I think this would make a great gift for the gluten free person in your life.

The not so good:

Want more: The products they send can be hard to find but an online store through their website is coming soon.

October Taste Guru Box

Contents of Taste Guru Box with approximate retail value:

Glutino Frosted Sensible Beginnings Cereal. Value = $6.79 - I tend to eat cereal out of the box because I'm not a fan of milk. I tried these plain and the flakes are really thick and crunchy. I think they would hold in milk great.

Alpine Avocado Vinaigrette. Value = $7.50

Fiona's Natural Foods Almond Millet. Value = $4.99

Bakery on Main Apple Pie Oatmeal. Value = $1.00

**That's It Bar. Value = $1.50

**Hummuz Crispz. Value = 1.50

Dang Toasted Coconut Chips. Value = $2.99 - yay, love these chips. I even have my mom buying them now.

**These two items aren't pictured because I had forgotten to take a picture before I put the stuff away. By the time I realized I needed a picture these items were already gone.

The total value of this box is $26.27. I keep seeing glutino products popping up. I wonder if it's a new brand. I thought this box was great with the exception of the granola because I have so much already. I need to find a recipe that uses granola and start getting rid of some of this stuff. The apple pie oatmeal sounds absolutely yummy. I love avocados. I have a friend who feels the same way and whenever we go out to eat we choose our food based on what has the most avocado or guacamole on it. I hope the vinaigrette tastes a delicious as it sounds.

Verdict: After receiving 2 boxes and liking them both I went ahead and subscribed.
