September Kona Kase

Kona Kase is priced at $15 a month with shipping included. They also offer a 3 month plan for $41 ($13.66 a month), 6 months for $77 (12.83 a month) or 12 months for $145 ($12.08 a month). The 3,6 and 12 month plans need to be paid for in full.  Each month Kona Kase will send a Kase of premium endurance products and boxes ship between the 10th and 18th of every month.

This subscription ships to the US and Canada (additional $8 shipping). Ships from Oakland, Ca.

The good:

Don't know what to buy: This is a great way to try protein bars, food, snacks and healthy stuff without having to go out a buy it.

Variety: They send a nice variety of products and I don't know if this is usual but it was all food and not supplements, pills or such.

The not so good:

Skip: There is no option to skip. You can cancel and restart.

September Kona Kase Box

Contents of the Kona Kase box with approximate retail value:

Crum Creek Soy bites breadsticks. Value = $0.52

Skratch Labs lemon lime hydration pack. Value = $1.95

Ojio electrolyte mix in berry flavor. Value = $0.53

Ojio electrolyte mix in citrus flavor. Value = $0.53

.9 oz. bag Surf Sweets Jelly Beans. Value = $0.75

Wai Lana Tropical Macadamia bar. Value = $2.99

Balance Bar in Almond Brownie. Value = $1.09

Clif Crunch in Chocolate Peanut Butter . Value = $0.70

Nature's Bakery Fig Bar in Blueberry. Value = $0.75

The total value of this Kona Kase is $9.79. I'm not really thrilled with the value of this box. The other boxes have been decent in value so I'm going to let this one slide but we will see what happens next month. I am excited to try the Wai Lana bar, I love macadamia nuts. Crum Creek must be doing to ad burst for their breadstick bites cause I'm seeing these pop up all over the place. I've been giving the electrolyte mixes to the boyfriend because he's on a motorcycle all day and sweats all day long. I figured he could use the mix more than me. So far he hasn't found one he likes.

Verdict: I'm happy with the products in this box but the value needs to be stepped up a bit.

  1. Is it me or most boxes are getting crappier and crappier. And half the time the value is okay but the items are eh...or you just get a box with a really low value.

  2. I often wonder what the average "lifespan" of a subscription box is.

    1. I think the more popular ones survive but at the same time so many keep popping as well.
