October Taste Trunk - Gourmet Trunk

Taste Trunk is a food based subscription box. I love food, especially gourmet food so I didn't hesitate to sign up for this box. Taste Trunk actually has four different themed trunks you can purchase. They are Gourmet, Health, Sweet and BBQ trunk. I love that they have something for everyone. I get lots of health type foods and I don't need any sweets so I decided against these ones. I was torn between the BBQ one and the Gourmet one but ended up choosing the Gourmet one. The nice thing about Taste Trunk is you can switch your boxes at anytime so I may try the BBQ one at some point. The price of Taste Trunk is $29.00 plus $5.99 shipping making it $34.99 a month.

This subscription is available to the US only and ships from Discovery Bay, Ca.

The Good:

Products: The items in my box are gourmet and full size.

Info: They send info cards with products information and recipes.

Variety: I love that they have four different themed boxes.

Want more: They have an online store where you can purchase more of the things you love.

Change it up: Want a different trunk next month. You can change your trunks by emailing them

The Not So Good:

Skip: Doesn't look like there is a way to skip, only cancel.

Referral program: They have one but you have to enter the persons full name when you check out and they get 10% off their next box. I like referral that use links and have discounts or bonus items for both people.

Taste Trunk got into the Halloween spirit this month.

This box really says fall to me.

Contents of the Gourmet Taste Trunk with approximate retail price:

Southern Culture Foods, Bourbon Salted Pecan Pancake & Waffle Mix from Decatur, Ga. Value = $7.99

Shemp's Old Fashioned Brand Steak Sauce from Brisbane, Ca. Value = $5.00

Bountiful Pantry Pumpkin Chowder mix from Nantucket, Ma. Value = $8.50

Wooden Table Baking Co. Alfajores rolled in coconut. Value = $5.50 - These were really good but really crumbly. You can't take a bite without the whole thing falling apart.

Chateau White Garlic Marinade. Value = $5.00 - I poured this over chicken and baked it. The chicken didn't dry out and it had great flavor. Was even good the next day.

The total value of this Gourmet box from Taste Trunk is $31.99.  There is nothing in this box that I'm not excited about. I love pumpkin flavored foods during the fall and I've never had pumpkin chowder. We received the short stacks mix in another box but it was a different flavor. Maybe I will try this one with my new waffle stick maker. The alfajores looked delicious and I'll be honest I broke open this package right after taking the picture. It's a super crumbly cookie though so I advise using a napkin to catch the pieces. We will definitely use the marinade and steak sauce.

Verdict: I love this gourmet taste trunk box. I want to try the others but I think this is the best fit for me.
