August Beauty Army Box

Here's how Beauty Army works.  You get to choose up to 6 items to try out from a selection of 9 items. The selection window is open for 5 days based on the day you signed up.  I happened to sign up on the 1st of the month so my window starts then.  They update their stock daily so what's available one day may not be available the next.  The price is $12 a month and that includes shipping. They also offer a yearly deal for $132 which means your 12th month is free dropping the price down to $11 a month. This month I checked the website everyday for things I may want EXCEPT on the 5th day. Since I didn't pick or skip they picked for me. The same thing happened last month. I wish they would send a reminder email on the last day if you haven't picked anything. I guess I need to start flagging the email or setting a reminder.

The Good:

The brands: You will get options from well known brands. They also say they use brands from emerging companies which is also fun.

The box/kit: I am very impressed with the little box it comes in. It's a well made sturdy reusable box hat can be used for gifting treasure boxes of your own making, keeping your treasures organized, etc.

The price: $12 Shipping included seems reasonable to me to be able to try a useful amount of product. Also you are picking the items out so theoretically you will always get something you will use.

Customer Service: I've had to email customer service for an issue and they were very prompt in responding and fixing the issue.  They seem to really care about their customers happiness with their products.

Skip a month: Not feeling it this month? unexpected bills? now you can skip the month. If you are a yearly member and skip the month then another month will be added to the end.  Yay!

The not so Good:

Skipping: Since they change their items everyday I usually don't forget to pick on the first day. Twice now I've forgot to check on the last day and was sent items they picked for me. I wish they sent a reminder email on the last day.

                                                        Beauty Army picks

Contents of box with approximate retail value listed:

1 ml. Marula Facial Oil. Value = $1.56

.1 oz. Adonia Bronzing lotion. Value = $1.63

3 Remington hair bands. Value = $2.50

.03 oz. Colorsmash Gold Rush hair chalk. Value = $4.50

FULL SIZE Addiction NV lipgloss in Girls Night Out. Value = $16.00

3 ml. Skiin Shop Skin tightener & line filler. Value = $7.99

Mighty Leaf Tea in Ginger Peach. Value = $1.17 - This was a bonus gift they included in the boxes this month.

The total value of my kit is $35.35.  This box wasn't too bad considering I didn't pick anything. I am definitely ok with the hair bands and hair chalk. I tried to look up the Addiction NV lip gloss and their webpage says their products are no longer available. I am always a little leery when companies send out items from defunct businesses. The bronzing lotion is ok, I'm going boating next week so I might try it out. The skin tightener and filler is really tiny and I don't really need it so I definitely wouldn't have picked it. I like the mighty leaf tea, this was a cool free gift!

Verdict:  Even though I didn't pick the items myself it wasn't a bad box.

    1. its easy to do! This one is nice because you can pick your samples or skip if you don't want anything.

  2. Most of the samples you picked are the ones available for my selection window except for the lip gloss which I already have two a red and a nude color one. BTW Addiction NV Cosmetics now go by Hey Saylor Cosmetics according to their Facebook page. They also stated that a new website should be coming soon.
