New addition to our family!

The boyfriend and I have been looking at adopting another fur baby. We looked at puppies but I felt like our work schedules are way to crazy to raise and train a puppy. We also debated on what type of dog to get. The boyfriend wanted a larger dog while I wanted a medium size dog. We both agreed we didn't want a tiny pup and we wanted a dark short haired dog since we wear dark clothes for work.

We searched online through petfinder and the local shelters and found lots of possibilities. We saved our favorites and I consulted with my friend whom also happens to be an animal control officer and has lots of experience with dogs. We went over our list of potentials and she basically said no to all of our choices for various (good) reasons. I told her what we were looking for and she said she had a dog at the shelter that she thought we should meet. I work in the same building as she does so she went to the shelter and brought the dog back to our office and I fell in love. The boyfriend also works at the same place so I called him and told him he had to come see what our friend had found for us.

We took her home for a sleepover to see how she got along in our house and with our kitties. I brought her back to work with me the next day and told our friend to start the process cause she she had found her new fur ever home.

Maddie keeping me company at work.

Look at those eyes.

All stretched out after a full day of playing with her toys.

Everyone keeps asking what type of dog she is but honestly I have no idea. She has the look and personality of many breeds. The shelter said she is a Chihuahua mix and our vet said she looked like a combination of miniature pinscher, shiba inu, jack russell, or some kind of terrier. He thought she was too big to have chihuahua. She is 18lbs 6oz and about 5-6 years old. We are thinking Manchester Terrier with miniature pinscher as the main breed with something else mixed in.

I have decided to have a doggy DNA test done because curiosity is getting the better of me. Anyone have any guesses?

    1. Thank you! She is amazing and fits perfectly in our house with our 2 cats. She's definitely going to need her own doggy box!

  2. She's so sweet, look at that expression, she melts my heart! Thank u 4 saving Maddie :) Personality would also help u guess the breed mix. I guess chihuahua +min pin.

    1. I know, how can you resist her sweet little face. She has the best expressions. Her personality is great. She is very mellow yet still likes to play ball and with stuffed toys. She gets along with all dogs, cats and people. She barks when appropriate and knows basic commands. She is very smart and picks up on things really fast. She travels well and is a total cuddle bug. I sent the test off today so we will see what it says. Of course we love her no matter what and are so happy we found each other.
