June Little Black Bag

Once again LBB lured me into their web with a fabulous bag I couldn't resist. I thought about just purchasing the bag but for a few dollars more you get a couple of extra items and you get to play the trading game.

The cost of the whole bag depends on what you open with. The purse I opened with ended up costing $54.27 after my VIP discount, taxes and shipping. I also added a couple of items and had a exchange item. So since I had a whole bunch of stuff going on in this bag I thought I would do a detailed blog about it.

Existing members are automatically VIP members. The basics of the VIP memberships is that you are charged $9.95 a month which you can put towards a bag or save your credits and open a bag when you're ready. Now I believe members that existed before the change have the ability to skip the month and not be charged the $9.95. I'm not sure if that option is available to those who signed up before the change

Shipping is $5.95 in the US except Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO and Puerto Rico is $11.95 and Canada is $15.95.

Returns/Exchanges - This is the biggest change. I ended up returning a bracelet from the April bag while this bag was open so I can tell you all about how it works. Once LBB received my exchanged a button on the top of the page showed up that said "exchange". I clicked on the button and a gallery of items ranging from $15-$48 appeared. I didn't see anything I wanted so I didn't do anything. I checked it daily to see if the items changed and they did. I eventually found a purse I wanted that was also $48. I clicked exchange and the purse was added to my open bag and the exchange button disappeared. Easy peasy. If you don't have an open bag then you have to pay shipping on the exchange (both ways). If you are exchanging because of a defect or broken item they will pay shipping. You can trade your exchange item I didn't though because I was really happy with the purse and wanted to keep it.

The good:

Like to shop? It's fun looking though the gallery and picking out treasures. As I said trading has really slowed down so don't expect a whole bunch of trading going on.

The value:  Your bag is guaranteed to be worth more than you paid.

The brands. The brands range from very well known to not so well known with price ranges to match and they are always adding more.  Also they add new products two times a week.

Multiple treasures:  You can score multiple treasures and use them for gifts at a fraction of the cost.

Variety. They have handbags, sunglasses, cell phone cases, iPad cases, earrings, wallets, nail polish, home :items, etc.  You will find something you like.

The price:  Depending on what you open your bag with the price is very fair.

Received your items but didn't like it:  LBB will let you return the item for an exchange or refund.

Referral program. They just changed their referral program so now when you refer people they get 25% off and you get a item worth $50 in your bag. What a great deal!

The not so good:

Pictures: They show pictures of the items and list the sizes but I would like to see them on a model (real or fake) to see the scale.  I have received a couple of pairs of earrings that were bigger than I thought they were going to be.

Want more, more more?:  For now you can only open one bag at a time however there is no limit to the number of bag you can open.

As I said I had a whole bunch of stuff going on with my bag this month and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to show you what this whole LBB thing is all about.

This is my pick. I couldn't resist this super cute Hello Kitty purse. This screen shows what the price will be (not including shipping and tax) and information about the stylist picks. At this point you aren't committed to buy. Sometimes you can hit refresh on your browser and get different stylist picks.

I decided that combo and price looked pretty good so I hit the checkout button. Again at this point you aren't committed to buy on this page. This shows you a summary of what you will be getting. I also had a referral credit which shows up on this page. Once you hit purchase on this page you are committed to buy and the next page will show you all the items in your bag.

This is the screen that shows up once you hit purchase. It shows my pic and the stylist pic. If there are more than 3 items to show you will see a button that says more items. Click that to go to the next page .

This is the second page. I had more than 3 items because of my referral item. As you can see I got 2 iPhone cases. I have 7 days to trade one of them so I'm not worried.

Wouldn't you know it, the day after I opened this bag another bag popped up that I thought was super cute. They were going fast and I couldn't resist. If you have an open bag it's easy (maybe a little too easy) to add an item. The price to add this to my bag was $57.91. This screen just shows that it was added.

I decided to trade the purple case for this bracelet.

I sent back the shoes from last months bag for an exchange. What happens is a button will show up that says "exchange". It will have a gallery of items in the price range of the item you're exchanging. The gallery changes daily and there is no time limit on an exchange. If you have an open bag the item will be added to your bag. If you don't have an open bag you can still make an exchange but will have to pay shipping.

Ok so now onto what I finally ended up with

My super awesome Hello Kitty bag. I had to have this. When I first saw it I thought it totally looked like my Louis Vuitton bag but a lot less expensive! It even came with a cute dust bag.

How cute are these??

It even has feet!

I couldn't resist this bag. It's so cute. As gorgeous and expensive as this bag is it should be noted that it doesn't have feet on the bottom like my hello kitty bag.
This is the inside. It has a cell phone pocket that is set in the lining and not a pouch on the outside. I like that.
Here are my other goodies. I also added this BGBGeneration purse to my bag. It was on sale and for some reason I was really drawn to it.

As you can see it's a fold over bag with a zip top.

All my Little Black Bag Treasures with retail price listed:

Red Hello Kitty Embossed purse. Value = $70.00 - Love, love, love this purse.

RJ Graziano Diamond Dust Drop Earrings. Value = $60.00. These are really pretty and remind me of Christmas.

Skyn Iceland Facial Cloths. Value = $15.00 - I also traded for these in my last bag. Although they aren't my favorite facial cloths they do an ok job and I like to get items I will use as opposed to purses and jewelry all the time.

Pink Pewter Cassandra Headband. Value = $22.00 - This is much prettier in person. It had a thick velvet band which is nice padding.

Carol Dauplaise Pave Feather Ring. Value = $18.00 - I have had my eye on this ring since it came out. I'm so happy I was able to trade for it.

Ivanka Trump Evelyn Satchel. Value = $150.00 - I added this to my bag for for myself but the boyfriend thinks it would be a better fit for the teenager. She's into all things nautical and when I opened the bag she seemed to really like it. The add to bag price was $57.91.

BCBGeneration Foldover Sequin Clutch. Value = $68.00 - I added this to my bag for $9.54 which I thought was a bargain. I don't know why but I was really drawn to this.

The total ending value of my LBB is $321.00 not including the referral item (Lindsay T.!) or the exchange item. With those two items added the total value is $403.00. I paid $121.72 after my add ons taxes and shipping. I love the Hello Kitty purse, it's even more awesome in person. I love the feather ring, it's such a bright fun statement ring and it looks great on my middle finger. I don't plan on returning anything from this bag and I'm really going to try, try, try and not open another bag for awhile. No promises though.

Verdict: Love LBB!
