June Julibox - Collection #10 Honey Bee Lemonade and Sangria Parisienne

Julibox is a subscription box for those who like the beverages of the adult variety. Each month Julibox sends out a recipes for two different cocktails and all the ingredients necessary to make them (minus any fresh fruit).  Each cocktail will be enough to serve two people so basically you get four cocktails per box.  Julibox cost $40 if you do a month to month membership and can go as low as $36 a month if you sign up for a 6 month membership.  Shipping is included in all prices.  The nice thing about the 3, 6 or 2 month memberships is they don't bill you in advance they bill you once a month.  I sign up for 6 months at a time which takes the price down to $36.00 billed monthly.

They say you can buy more of anything you like in their shop but when I clicked on their store page the only thing for sale were some older boxes which were all sold out.

This subscription only ships in the US and only to certain states that don't have restrictions on alcohol shipments.  The package ships from Brooklyn, New York via UPS and requires adult of 21 years or older to sign.

The good:

Like new drinks: This is a great way to try new drinks without buying a full size bottle of alcohol.

Need a gift: You can gift Julibox. What a better way to say thanks than with a cocktail.

Monthly billing: I like that if you sign up for 3 months or longer they still bill you monthly.  If you cancel before the end of the subscription term they will charge you $15.00 This seems like a fair deal to me.

The not so good:

Price: The price ends up being $9-$10 per drink which is right around regular bar prices.  The benefit is you can drink in the comfort of your own home.

Don't like the drink: Well at least you don't have full size bottle lying around not being used.

Honey Bee Lemonade and Sangria Parisienne

Cocktail #1 Honey Bee Lemonade

(2) 50 ml bottles Wild Turkey American Honey Liqueur. Value = $1.45/ea.

50 ml bottle Caravella Limoncello. Value = $3.99

Total value = $6.89 for 2 drinks.

Cocktail #2 Sangria Parisienne

50 ml bottle Espirit De June. Value = $3.99

50 ml bottle Grey Goose L'Orange Vodka. Value = $5.99

187 ml bottle Woodbridge Sauvignon Blanc. Value = $1.99

Total value = $11.97 for 2 drinks.

The total value in this box is $18.86. Needless to say I was less than thrilled with the value of this box. I mean really? That's like half! The drinks look tasty and all but heck throw a little something extra in here. There were nice enough to include recipes using full size bottles should you want to make a pitcher of tasty cocktails for your next party.

Verdict: Drinks look delicious but I'm a little disappointed in the value.

June Beauty Box 5

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription service for beauty products including makeup, skin care, fragrances, nail care, body care, beauty tool and just about anything else beauty related.  Each month you receive 4-5 samples of beauty related items.  They have three ways to subscribe.  You can pay monthly for $12 a month, or quarterly $30 which brings the price down to $10 a month or yearly for $100 which brings the price down to $8.33 a month.  Shipping is included in all these prices.

I had let my subscription expire but I decided I really like this box for the price so I subscribed again.

This subscription ships the the US and Canada from Austin, Texas.

The good:

The brands.  Well known brands including some eco-friendly ones.

The pricing structure.  I like the options they have, monthly, quarterly and yearly.  Even the quarterly gives you a little bit of a discount.

Like surprises? Boxes ship out on the 15th of every month and you never know what's going to be in it.  I like surprises so this is a positive for me.  Also since this ships out in the middle of the month you get a little treasure towards the end of the month.  Most monthlies ship at the beginning.

Information: They have started including an information cards on the products in the boxes which I love

The not so good:

Skip a month. Currently there is no option for this.  If you want to skip you have to cancel.

Doubles: Sometimes they send two of one item which I'm not a fan of (see below)

June Beauty Box 5
Contents of box with approximate retail value.

1 oz. Coolway Cool Cleanse Shampoo. Value = $2.91

1 oz. Coolway Cool Cleanse Conditioner. Value = $2.91

(2) .27 oz. packets Just Being Sexy Body Bronzer. Value = $2.21/ea. - Wow, this is really bronze! I used it on my legs and they certainly were shimmery. I used one packet over 3 days on my legs. A little goes a long way with this stuff.

.5 oz. Aveeno Protect + Hydration Sunscreen. Value = $1.67

small pot Brazen Cosmetics Eyeshadow in commando. Value = $?? - This is a purple color and it's ok but I like my shadow a little more pigmented. It makes a nice base color though.

The total value of this month's box is $11.91 plus a little more for the eyeshadow. I'm happy with the shampoo and conditioner. With all the shampoo and conditioner I've received in various boxes I haven't needed to buy any in several months! I really like Aveeno products and I use sunscreen everyday. The body bronzer I'm not not excited about. I guess if you are going to bronze your whole body then two packets would be necessary but I usually only use these on my legs.

Verdict: This months box had useful items. I hope next month is a little more exciting though.

June Nature Box

Nature Box is a food related monthly subscription that sends 15-20 servings of delicious snacks from 4-6 different items.  Their products contain no high fructose corn syrup, no partially hydrogenated oils, no trans fat, no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors.  The cost for this subscription is $19.95 shipping included.  In addition for every Nature Box sent out they donate a meal through Feeding America.

This subscription is available to all US states and ships from San Carlos, California

The good:

Good for you: You get snacks for you and your family that are good for you.

Variety: There is something for everyone, fruit, nuts, rice crackers.

Skip a month: Yes you can skip a month or have your box sent to a friend.  The not so good is you have to call or email in order to do this.  There is no online option for this feature but they are working on it.

Need a gift: You can send a 3, 6 or 12 month gift subscription.  Perfect for college students, frequent travelers, moms, singles, really anyone!

Customize: You can now customize your box.

The not so good:

Want more: Love you snack and want to order more?  Currently they don't have an option to purchase more but they are working on making that a possibility.

My personalized Nature Box Treasures.

Contents of my Nature Box:

(3.5) 6 piece servings Yogurt Dipped Pretzels. - These are really good. They taste like they have some lemon in them although no citrus is listed in the ingredients.

(3) servings Fancy Dried Figs. - I love me some figs but these seem a little dry to me.

(5) Whole Wheat Figgy Bars.

(5) 1/4c Far East Rice Crackers. - These are always a favorite around my house.

(5) 1/3c BBQ Kettle Kernels. - What I liked about these is they didn't have the strong smell like corn nuts usually do. They also weren't hard on your teeth. They had a nice light crunch. I think they could have used more flavoring though.

Bonus Snack

(4.5) 9 piece Italian Bistro Pretzels.

I don't know why I'm getting a bonus bag. Does anyone else get a bonus bag in their box? I won't attempt to determine a value of the products because there is so much variation in this type of food.  I looked at a couple of organic dried fruit items online and they were about $4.50 a bag.  I know when I've purchased nuts before in a package or bulk it's about $3-$5 depending on the brand, etc. The yogurt dipped pretzels are yummy! I'm going to skip next month because somehow we are on snack overload!
Verdict: Great variety of items and great healthy snacks and I'm thrilled with the customizing option.

June Eco-Emi Box

Eco Emi is a monthly subscription service that sends a minimum of 5 eco-friendly/conscious products to your door for $15 a month w/shipping included.  The products range from beauty, household, food, etc.  They send a really nice variety of items including food, beauty etc. You get a little bit of everything. It's something everyone is your house could enjoy.  My Eco Emi boxes are always nicely packaged and stuffed full of treasures.

This subscription is available in the US only and ships from St. Peters, Missouri

The good:

Price: Eco-friendly product samples can be difficult to find.  I appreciate being able to try these products for a fraction of the price of purchasing full size.

Eco-friendly: Every little bit helps

Variety: Not just beauty products.  You get food, home, drinks, etc.

Want more: Sometimes they have left over boxes that they sell after the subscriptions have been sent out.  The cost of these is $15 w/shipping included.  Kinda cool if you really like or know someone that would really like that months box.

Skip a month:  You can put your account on pause if you want to skip.

Information: They put a card in every box with information on the products as well as the price.

The not so good:

Payment: You have to set up a recurring payment through PayPal.  I don't like this because PayPal makes you use your PayPal balance before they take money from your checking/credit card.  I like to save my PayPal balance for misc eBay purchases.

This months box was planned around the 4th of July. The bandanna was wrapped around all the products.

All the Eco-Emi treasures!

Contents of box with approximate retail price listed:

FULL SIZE Badger Cuticle Care with Soothing Shea Butter. Value = $5.99

FULL SIZE The All Natural Face Vegan Lip and Cheek in Peachy Rose. Value = $4.00

.9 oz. Surf Sweets Gummy Bears. Value = $0.72 - The boyfriend always eats these up right away.

FULL SIZE Nelsons Pure & Clear Purifying Cleansing Wipes. Value = $8.75

.25 oz. Desert Essence Coconut Hand and Body Lotion. Value = $0.28 - This was just ok as far as moisturizing but what I really liked about it is it had a nice light coconut smell.

small pot of Purely You Minerals Vegan bronzer. Value = $??

1.5 oz. Beanitos Black Bean Chips Chipotle BBQ Chips. Value = $0.66 - I like Beanitos but the word chipotle scared me. The boyfriend ate them and said it they were good.

Botanical Interests Wheatgrass Organic Heirloom Seeds. Value = $1.69

US Flag bandanna. - I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this but the boyfriend snatched it right up. I forget he wears bandannas under his helmet when he rides his motorcycle. Awesome!

The total value of  this box is $22.09. The card said this box was filled with amazing items for your holiday gatherings. I'm not sure that's the case but there were some pretty cool items in this box. I am constantly picking at my cuticles. I absolutely can't stand it when they are the slightest bit dry and when they get that way I pick at them. Bad I know but this is wear cuticle cream comes in handy. I love the stuff! The food items were gone that day. The food items were gone that day. I'm not a fan of wheatgrass but I have an herb garden so I think I'm going to go ahead and plant some seeds, cause why not!. Face cleaning wipes are perfect for me since I use them everyday. I still haven't found anything I like as much as Neutrogena but I'm willing to try new stuff.

Verdict: Great box this month. Lots of items that I will use.

New monthly box - Escape Monthly

There is a new subscription box in town that looks pretty interesting. Escape monthly will be packed with full size luxury products with a destination inspired theme. Also each month as a subscriber you will be entered to win a vacation for 2 to that months destination. Escape monthly will pay for airfare and accommodations for 2 people (up to $2000). Now that would be awesome to win!

The price of this box is $49.99 a month with shipping included. They are offering a grand opening special right now. If you use code YOURESCAPE during checkout you will receive 20% off each box for as long as your a member. This brings the price down to a more reasonable, although still a little pricey $39.99 a month.

This looks promising.

I went ahead and signed up because curiosity got the better of me. The first box will ship mid-August and is theme Napa Spa Getaway Escape. How exciting. Part of me wants to win the trip because I love Napa but the other part of me doesn't want to win because I live within driving distance to Napa and frequently take day or overnight trips there. This reminds me of an episode of Kelly & Michael I was watching. Everyday they giveaway a trip and the lady that had won lived within a few miles of the destination and because she was local had been there several times. Everyone had a good laugh and she was still happy she won. A free trip is a free trip so I wouldn't complain.

June Bulu Feel Good Discovery Box

Bulu Box feel good discovery box is a monthly sample box that contains 4-5 premium vitamin and supplement nutrition samples.  These products are for both men and women.  The cost of the service is $10 a month or $110 a year ($10 savings) which brings it down to $9.16 a month. The boxes ship around the 15th of the month so this box will arrive towards the end of every month.  This is a great way to try supplements and health type foods without spending a ton of money.  They also have a box focused on weight loss.

This subscription box ships to the US only and ships from Lincoln, Nebraska.

The good:

New products: Nutritional products can be overwhelming and expensive to try.  This allows you to try new products for a low price.

Information: They include a card with the product information on it.

Samples sizes: The sizes are usually decent.

Access to products: There are links to purchase the products on the Bulu website

Points: You can earn points by reviewing products on their websites. Points can be used for discounts on full
size items.

Skip a month: No but you can put your account on pause.  It will stay in that status until you reactivate it.

The not so good: You may get products you won't use or don't want to use.  A lot of people don't like taking supplements which I totally respect but I would say this probably isn't the box for you

Bulu Box Feel Good Discovery.

This was in the box and I though it felt pretty light for containing 30 capsules. Turns out there was a reason for that. It that big 'ol full size bottle box were two little capsules. Pretty sure I won't be able to evaluate the effects based on two little capsules.

Contents of box with approximate retail price listed.

Improved Digestion:

BioVi Probiotic 2 capsules (2 day supply). Value = $1.90

Natural Hangover Protection:

BluCetin 2 capsules. Value = $2.67 - I didn't think I would need this but too much one wine night and I could feel the headache coming on. I took this and woke up pain free!

A Better Breakfast:

2 servings FlapJacked Protein Pancakes in banana hazelnut flavor. Value = $2.40

Mimic High Metabolism:

14 capsules Shapeology Burn Blend. Value = $9.33

Edible Super Antioxidants:

Eat Green Tea organic edible green tea leaves. Value = $0.60 - I've been mixing this with my oatmeal. It's pretty good except I find stems every now and then that are too hard to chew on.

The total value of my Bulu box is $16.90. I am super excited to try the pancake mix. I suppose adding a bunch of sugary syrup to it isn't the right thing to do. I actually prefer fruit on my pancakes so I think it will work out perfectly. I'm hoping to not need to use the BluCetin capsules anytime soon. I'm in my late 30's and can't drink like I did in my 20's, nor do I want to. The cool part about getting both Bulu boxes is now I have 2 weeks worth of Shapeology to try.

Verdict: I'm super excited to try the pancake mix. I thought this months box was way better than last months.

If anyone wants to try a Bulu Box send me an email at and I'll send you a link for a free box.

June Bulu Weight Loss Box

About 3 months ago Bulu Box introduced a new box called the weight loss box.  This box contains a variety of 4-5 weight loss targeting items including but not limited to supplements, fitness tools and healthy eating tools for both men and women. The cost of the box is $10 a month or $110 a year ($10 savings) which brings it down to $9.16 a month. The boxes ship around the 15th of the month so this box will arrive towards the end of every month.  This is a great way to try supplements and weight loss items without spending a ton of money.

This subscription box ships to the US only and ships from Lincoln, Nebraska.

The good:

New products: Weight loss products can be overwhelming and expensive to try.  This allows you to try new products for a low price.

Samples sizes: The sizes are really decent.  I received multiples of a few items which will allow me to try it a couple of times.

Information: They include a card with the product information on it.

Access to products: There are links to purchase the products on the Bulu website.

Points: You can earn points by reviewing products on their websites. Points can be used for discounts on full
size items. I've used my points to by a protein powder I liked.

Skip a month: No but you can put your account on pause.  It will stay in that status until you reactivate it.

The not so good:

You may get products you won't use or don't want to use.  A lot of people don't like taking supplements which I totally respect but I would say this probably isn't the box for you.

                     Bulu Weight Loss Box

Contents of box with approximate retail price listed:

Electrolyte Popsicle:

PowerIce popsicle in orange blast. Value = $1.30

Fuel Your Workout:

4 pieces Gu Energy Strawberry Chomps. Value = $2.29

Achy Muscle Relief:

.125 packet Thera-Gesic creme. Value = $0.17 - This is powerful stuff! I put some on my lower back and it felt like my back was on fire. The burning sensation eventually went away. I'm not sure if it really took away the muscle ache or distracted me from that pain with another one. It smells very pepperminty.

Mimic High Metabolism:

Shapeology Burn Blend 14 capsules. Value = $9.33

A Better Workout:

Twin Lab Power Fuel drink mix. Value = $0.96

Edible Super Antioxidants:

Eat Green Tea organic edible green tea leaves. Value = $0.60

The total value of my Bulu box is $14.65. The thera-gesic creme couldn't have come at a better time. I have something going on with my lower back that is super painful. I don't know if it's a muscle or what but I'm going to try this creme because it's getting to the point where sleeping is uncomfortable. I received a full size bag of the Eat Green Tea product in my Yumvelope but I haven't really tried it yet. I did taste a few of the leaves right out of the package and I would say that's not a good way to eat it. It's not bad tasting just really strong. I still haven't figured out how I'm going to use it. The package recommends using it in smoothies or shakes but I don't make either. The Shapeology is enough for a 7 day supply. The popsicle looks fun I just have to remember it's in the freezer.
Verdict: I'm excited to try some of the items in this box. I hope the high metabolism capsules work!

If anyone wants to try a Bulu Box send me an email at and I'll send you a link for a free box.

Jewelmint 8 Piece Mystery Box

Recently Jewelmint annouced another mystery box. This one was a little different from others because you could order different size boxes. They had a 3 piece box for $29.99, a 5 piece box for $39.99 or an 8 piece box for $49.99. I opted for the 8 piece box because I'm crazy like that.

I was shocked at how fast this box came. I had in within a week from when I placed the order. I know a lot of people have been complaining about shipping times for Jewelmint but it looks like they are stepping up their game.

8 piece mystery box.

Contents of box with price on Jewelmint

Blue Angel Earrings. Value = $19.99 - These are super pretty in person.

Metallic Bronze Leather Bangles from Jewelmint Collective. Value = $30.00 - These are fun and would be great to toss on for a casual everyday look.

Chocolate Link Necklace. Value = $29.99 - I never knew this existed. I'm so glad I got it and I can't wait to wear it.

Chocolate Link Bracelet. Value = $29.99 - Yay! The matching bracelet.

Rhapsody Rope Necklace. Value = $29.99 - This is just gorgeous! I will definitely wear this.

The Mural Bangle. Value - $29.99 - great bangle, love the little crystals on it.

Chain of Honor Necklace. Value = $19.99 - I like the idea of this but it doesn't look right on me.

Lavender Slate Necklace. Value = $19.99 - This is pretty but it's too much gold for me.

The total value of this mystery box is $209.93. If you break it down per piece it makes each piece $6.25. I'm totally ok with that. I did get one duplicate of something I already have but the other 7 pieces are new to me. I'm actually happy with most of these pieces and it makes me want to order another one! I will refrain though until the next mystery box.

Verdict: This mystery box was a hit for me!

June Beauty Box by Target

In late April I received an email from Target inviting me to try their Beauty Box. The price of the box was $5.00. There was nothing that said it was going to be a recurring box or just a one time thing. I had no idea when the box would be sent either. Turns out I didn't receive the box until the end of June. From the time of the email til I received the box was about 7 weeks. That's a long time to wait. My thought is Target is a huge business and for sure they will include more than $5 worth of goodies in their box.

The card in the box says "Welcome to the first edition of Beauty Box by Target". We are creating a monthly program that will let you receive samples of 4-5 products from a few of our favorite brands. Some brands you'll know, and some you may not have heard of yet. You will also get a special offer that will have you looking gorgeous for less. Sounds great to me, especially for $5!

The Good:

The price: This is the lowest price I've seen on any beauty box.

Product availability: I'm assuming all the products they send will be available at Target.

Discount: They include a coupon to use for a discount on a future purchase. Hopefully they will have longer expiration dates.

Reusable Box: The items come in a white box with no markings. You can reuse it for mailing, storing, gifting, etc.

The Not So Good:

Skip: undetermined.

This was the outside of the box. Target logos made out of makeup.

Target goodies!

They also included a coupon for $3 off a $15 purchase. The problem is it expired the same week the box arrived at my house. Even worse it expired the day after I came home from vacation. I wasn't about to run out to Target after being gone for a week. If they do more boxes I would like to see a coupon that lasts longer.

Contents of box with approximate value:

.17 oz. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo. Value = $4.69

2 oz. Fekkai Glossing Cream. Value = $12.50

Gillette Venus & Olay Sugarberry Scent Razor Pack. Value = $10.99

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Sweet Tart-Tan. Value = $8.50

.025 oz. L'Oreal Magic B.B. Cream in Light. Value = $0.27

The total value of this Target Beauty Box is $36.95.  Not only is it incredible for a $5 investment but it's items I will use. I'm actually going to pass the La Roche product on to the teenager, with summers hot weather here she is experiencing some breakouts. I'm keeping the other products for myself. I really love the Sally Hansen polish strips and I'm loving this Tartan design. The Fekkai product will help keep my flyaway in check when I'm driving topless this summer. WHAT?? Ha Ha. I have convertible car and it's convertible weather here in California.

I really hope Target continues with this beauty box or even food boxes for that matter. I really enjoyed this box and if they keep the $5 price that would be fan-freakin-tastic!

June Conscious Box - Classic Box

Conscious box now offers 3 types of boxes. The classic, vegan and gluten free.  Each box contains a wide variety of items from food to beauty products to household goodies.  The price is $19.95 a month with shipping included. They also have a 3, 6 and 12 months plans. The 12 month plan is the only one that offers a discount.

This box is only available to ship to the US including Alaska and Hawaii and ships from Portland, OR

The good:

Variety: You get a wide variety of items and the box was packed!

Vegan: If your vegan the vegan box is great for you.

Gluten free: If you live a gluten free life the gluten free box would be great for you.

Information: They now include an information card with product details on it.

Points: You can earn points for rating products. The points earn you discounts should you want to purchase something you like.

The not so good:

The price: It's on the high side for subscription boxes but I would consider this a specialty box for sure.

Skip: Currently no option to skip a month

Conscious Box - Classic Box

This is the volcanic soap. It was in the same package as the shampoo bar.

Really cute thank you card.

Contents of box w/approximate retail price listed:

Smock Sustainable Paper Thank You Card. Value = $5.00

(5) Greek Island Labs Natural Colon capsules. Value = $1.20/ea.

4 oz. Earth Friendly Products Organic Lemongrass Hand Soap. Value = $0.82

Sneakz Organic Yummy Veggie Nutrition Shake. Value = $2.08 - This had a veggie under taste to it but not enough to where kids won't drink it.

(4) Organic Flavrz Liquid Drink Mix in Revive and Boost. Value = $1.00

Skout Bar in Cherry Vanilla. Value = $2.49

Skout Bar in Apple Cinnamon. Value = $2.49 - I found this half eaten in the snack bowl along with a couple of other half eaten items. I asked the boyfriend what's with all the half eaten bars and he said that means they don't taste good. I took a bite and it wasn't bad but a little dry.

Larabar Alt Peanut Butter Cookie Fruit and Nut Bar. Value = $1.50

Molly Muriel Soft as Silk Shampoo Bar. Value = $??

Molly Muriel Volcanic Bar. Value = $??

2 oz. Nature's Baby Shampoo and Body Wash in Vanilla Tangerine. Value = $2.49

Son for Men Soothe for razor burn, ingrown hairs and bumps. Value = $??

Naked Wines $50 gift card. Value = $30.00

The approximate value of my classic box is $23.87 or 53.87 with the gift card.  If you already registered with Naked Wines you can't use the gift card and it seems these are popping up everywhere. The thank you card is super cute and I know I will use it. Flavrz must be a new product because it was in my LWF box also. I swear I've seen it somewhere before though. For some reason I think I saw it on Kickstarter awhile back. I've never heard of a shampoo bar but what the heck I'll try it. I can't wait to try the Sneakz shake. If it tastes good and has a full serving of veggies that would be great! The natural colon product is a little frightening. Anything that says cleanse is scary to me. If I try it I probably won't do it unless I'm going to be home or close to home for a few days. The food bars will go in my snack tub to grab when I don't feel like making food or I'm running out the door.

Verdict: I am glad I found a deal on this and subscribed.

June Bestowed Box

The good folks over at Bestowed offered to send me a box of their goodies complimentary for review. I checked out there website and thought #1 How come I didn't know about this before? and #2 Yep, this looks like something I would be totally into trying. So I accepted the offer and the box made it's way from New York to California.

Bestowed was created by nutritionist and author Heather Bauer in an effort to answer the question everyone had when it comes to health food.."which one of these is really the best?" Each month, Heather and her team of health and diet experts carefully curate 5 product samples that have caught their attention. Items like nutrition bars, snacks, breakfast cereals, and supplements are just a few of the categories considered. The price of this box is $19.00 a month with shipping included or you can pre-pay for a yearly plan for $209 which brings the price down to $17.42 a month (basically 12 months for the price of 11).

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from New York.

Bestowed is offering $5.00 any subscription to my readers using code 5OFFBSTOWED01.

The good:

Variety: I liked that there was some variety to this box. It wasn't just limited to food or products, you get both!

Good size samples: The samples are full size or close to it.

Information: They include a sheet with product info and tips on usage.

The not so good:

Skip a month: I didn't see an option to skip a month.

June Bestowed Box

Here are all the packets that were in the  Herban pack. Lots of variety!

This is the information page that is included.

(2) Roots Superfood Powder Packet. Value = $1.73/ea.

Bon'App. Value = 0

The total value of this months box is $22.70. I was very happy with the products that came in this box.  I love seaweed and haven't heard of this brand before. I'm not sure about the cheese flavor but Bestowed said it works great as a replacement for croutons on a salad. I'm also a big fan of the True Bar and Coconut Cashew happens to be my favorite flavor. I've had Dr. Praegers spinach cakes before which were very good so I am looking forward to trying other items from that brand. I had never heard of the Bon'App app so even though this was a zero value (it's a free app) I was glad they included it. I downloaded it but haven't played with it a whole lot yet. The Herban towelettes are pretty cool. I'm going to take them with me on vacation, I think they will be useful. The Roots product doesn't look tasty to me but they swear it tastes good and you can mix it with water to get days worth of vitamins and nutrients.

Verdict: This is a box I could really get into. I think I might just have to subscribe.

June Kona Kase

Kona Kase was started because the creators Taylor & John were tired of eating the same boring energy bars. They wanted a way to for themselves and others to be able to try all the different brands out there without having to scour the earth looking for them. Voila - Kona Kase was born.

Kona Kase is priced at $15 a month with shipping included. They also offer a 3 month plan for $41 ($13.66 a month), 6 months for $77 (12.83 a month) or 12 months for $145 ($12.08 a month). The 3,6 and 12 month plans need to be paid for in full.  Each month Kona Kase will send a Kase of premium endurance products and boxes ship between the 10th and 18th of every month.

This subscription ships to the US and Canada (additional $8 shipping). Ships from Oakland, Ca.

The good:

Don't know what to buy: This is a great way to try protein bars, food, snacks and healthy stuff without having to go out a buy it.

Variety: They send a nice variety of products and I don't know if this is usual but it was all food and not supplements, pills or such.

The not so good:

Skip: There is no option to skip. You can cancel and restart.

June Kona Kase box.

Contents of the Kona Kase box with approximate retail value:

Onebar in Mango. Value = $0.99 - The boyfriend ate this, he said it was pretty good which is a lot coming from him.

Osmo Hydration Nutrition packet in Orange. Value = $1.46

Kind Bar in Madagascar Vanilla Almond. Value = $1.49

Halfpops. Value = $1.49 - Love me some halfpops. I was super happy to see this in the box.

Mamma Chia Squeeze in Strawberry Banana. Value = $1.75

Dr. Will Bar. Value = $2.00

18 Rabbits in Cheeky Cherry Chocolate. Value = $1.50

Clif Shot energy gel in Razz. Value $1.25

The total value of this Kona Kase is $11.93.  This is a few dollars lower than the monthly box price of $15 but the products are interesting and not something I would search out so I think it's worth it. I was stoked to see the Halfpops in the box, I'm loving those things. The mamma chia squeeze I'm not too sure about - the whole chia seed thing. I figured it would taste better cold so before I try it I will refrigerate it. The other bars will be good to toss in my lunch bag for a snack or when I'm on the go.

Verdict: I'm happy with the variety in this box.

The Yumvelope promises to send all natural hand picked delicious items in each envelope.  Yumvelope has also started a meal donation program for each envelope purchased, and you know I'm a big fan of that.

This subscription is available is the US only and ships from Illinois.

The good:

Discounts: The try and send a promo code for each product so you can order your favorite products at a discounted price.

Size: They send full size or close to full size products which is always nice.

Meal donation: For every Yumvelope shipped they donate a meal.

The not so good:

Skip: No option to skip a month

June Yumvelope

Contents of box with approximate retail value/price listed.

Dave's Midnight Cookie in Ginger Molasses. Value = $1.99 - This smelled delicious but was a little dry.

Dave's Midnight Cookie in Lemon Coconut. Value = $1.99 - Now this cookie was freakin delicious! The coconut made it moist and the lemon made it delicious. Great combo of flavors.

Eat Green Tea Edible Green Tea. Value = $25.00

Teeccino Dandelion Dark Roast. Value = $0.60

Teeccino Dandelion Caramel Nut. Value = $0.60

Teechia Blueberry Date cereal. Value = $3.50

Teechia Cinnamon Cranberry. Value = $3.50

1.25 oz. bag The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies in the World. Value = $1.79 - These were tasty but I wouldn't say they were anywhere near the best chocolate chip cookie in the world.

The total approximate value of this Yumvelope is $38.97. This is the highest value I've seen and it has some fun products in it. I love green tea so this edible green tea is right up my alley. My favorite Starbucks and Jamba Juice drinks are the green tea ones.  The Teechia product I'm not too sure about. It has quinoa and chia in it which are not my favorite things. I recommends adding milk, yogurt or other non-dairy to it of which I have none so I haven't been able to try it yet.

Verdict: I went ahead and renewed for another year. The send some fun and interesting products.

June SeasonsBox

SeasonsBox just started out this year but they seem to be going strong. This monthly subscription service focuses on lifestyle items of the current season.  SeasonsBox  is based out of Canada and the box contains 3-5 luxurious full size seasonal must-have products for your home, body and spirit.  For this service you can sign up monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or annually.  The monthly price is $29.95 plus $4.95 shipping.  If you sign up for the 3, 6 or 12 month subscription you get a discount of anywhere from $5-$69.80.

This subscription ships to US and Canada.

The good:

Products: You get full size products and they send an email before shipment to let you know what's going to be in the box.  This is helpful if you want to skip.

Variety: It's not limited to beauty, health, food, etc.  There is a variety of items in each box.

Themes: I like the theme boxes. This one will focus on seasons, holidays or occasions.

Referral program: If you refer a friend you get $5 and they get an extra product in their first box.

Skip: If you aren't into the box that month you can log into your account and skip.  Awesome!

The not so good:

I can't really think of anything.

Each month the boxes come wrapped in pretty ribbon. I save them and reuse them.

The theme of this box is Dive into Summer.

This is the bracelet.

Contents of SeasonsBox with approximate retail value:

Organic Tagua Bracelet made from a Palm Tree Nut. Value = $4.99

Moksa Organic Body Bar in Lemon & Poppy Seed. Value = $6.50

6 oz. Vance Family Soy Candles in Pineapple Coconut. Value = $12.99

5 pack Rishi Tea Tropical Crimson. Value = $6.99

The total value of this months box is $31.47. Usually SeasonsBox sends an email every month showing you what's in the box so you can decided whether or not you want to skip. I don't recall getting that email otherwise I probably would've skipped this month. With that being said it's definitely a summer feeling box. The pineapple coconut candle smells like a tropical drink and I'm sure the lemon bar is very refreshing. The drink mix looks delicious and I'm guess you could mix this up in a blender with some tequila and make yourself a little margarita. I like the idea of the Tagua bracelet supporting artisans and using sustainable products it's just not something I would wear. I will probably do a giveaway for this sometime soon.

Verdict:  This box wasn't my favorite but overall the service itself is a good one.

Jewelmint Summer Mystery Boxes

Jewelmint just announced their newest mystery boxes. This time they have structured it a little bit different. You can order a box guaranteed to have 3 pieces for $29.99 ($10 per piece), 5 pieces for $39.99 ($8 per piece), or an 8 piece box for $49.99 (6 per piece). Also each box will contain a mystery code to be used on a future purchase. Codes are emailed in late July. Some lucky boxes will contain 20 pieces!

Jewelmint is a hard one because some of the items are really nice and some aren't. I've purchased many mystery boxes from them and have had fantastic ones and not so fantastic ones.

I think I will be purchasing ones of these boxes because I have a $30 credit right now and I find I get the most bang for my buck with the mystery boxes. Besides there is bound to be at least one item I like in it right?

June Ipsy Bag

Ipsy bag sends out 4-5 samples and a makeup bag for $10 a month with shipping included. If you sign up yearly it's $110 which brings the price down the $9.16 a month with shipping included.  I've been with them for over a year now and have really enjoyed it overall.  They constantly have a high product value with products that I use.

This subscription is available to the US and Canada.

The good:

The samples.  They seem to include at least one full size sample each month, which is nice.

The packaging. Each month the products come in a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

Discounts: The almost always offer a discount on any additional purchases you want to make.

The not so good:

Skip a month? There is no option to skip a month.  You have to cancel.

The theme this month is On the Wild Side.

Contents of bag with value and approximate retail price:

FULL SIZE Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tipsy. Value = $12.00

FULL SIZE NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Hot Pink. Value = $6.00

FULL SIZE Cailyn Gel Eyeliner in Purple. Value = $21.00

FULL SIZE J. Cat Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette in Suzie. Value = $4.49

Travel Size. Psssst! Freeman Beauty Dry Shampoo. Value = $2.99

animal print makeup bag.

Bonus for referring two people to ipsy. Thanks Jennifer and Sarah!

Baublebar O-Ring Stud Wrap. Value =$10.00???

The approximate value of this months bag is $46.48 not including the bracelet or the makeup bag. Although the value is nice this month I'm not too thrilled with a few of the items. I have no use for the lip pencil, I already have lots of dry shampoo that I haven't used yet and holy moly that blush is BRIGHT! I saw some gals got a different color blush and false eyelashes. I would've loved the falsies! Now I do love the gel liner and I happen to wear purple liner all the time and I can't wait to try the sparkly stuff. There are no directions on how to use it but if you go to the J. Cat website it says to use it on your face just be careful around the eyes since it's glitter.

Verdict: Even though I didn't care for 3 of the 5 items I love the eyeliner and that made this bag worth the money.

June Fancy Food Box

The Fancy Food Box includes 5 or more gourmet artisan food products along with a selection of tasty recipes and pairing suggestions. The Fancy Food box is priced at $39.00 plus $7.95 shipping. This is a little high but if you are into food products they send out some really cool stuff and so far the value has been over the $48 price of the box.

This subscription is available worldwide, shipping prices vary on location.

The good:

Sizes: You get full size food items!

Information: They include a nice card with the product information and picture.

The not so good:

Skip: There is no option to skip a month, only cancel.

Price: The price is a little high - unless of course it has great products and a high value

Information cards.

   The Fancy Food Box.

Contents of The Fancy Food Box with approximate retail price listed:

Salty Road Salty Caramel Apple Salt Water Taffy. Value = $6.50 - You can taste the little salt crystals in this. I also like that it's not to hard and not too soft, the perfect consistency.

Morris Kitchen Ginger Syrup. Value = $14.00

Rufus Teague Honey Sweet BBQ Sauce. Value = $6.95

Tin Mustard. Value = $7.00 - I love me some gourmet mustard and this one is delicious.

Rick's Picks' Handy Corn Relish. Value = $5.99

The Cravery PB Overload Cookie. Value = $2.00 - This was one of the most delicious PB cookies I've ever tasted. It didn't hurt that it had chocolate chips in it.

Gama Go Cool Pop Spatula. Value = $10.00 - I have tons of these spatulas but I love them so yay me!

The total value of this months box is $52.44. I really do enjoy the fancy food boxes. It always so many items that I would either never buy or wouldn't know where to buy them. I can't wait to try the ginger syrup. I'm sure I will use it in some sort of cocktail. I had rick's picks' products before and so far have liked them. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this yet but I'm thinking salsa. I absolutely love the label on the BBQ sauce, very to the point. Can't wait to try it.

Verdict. I think this box offers some really unique food items.

About a week or so after receiving my Fancy Food Box I received another box in the mail from them with this letter inside.

Along with the letter was some goodies in the box.

They included 2 boxes of salt water taffy and 4 more cookies.  This added $21 to the value of the box making it an overall value of $73.44. I'll be honest and say I didn't realize or even think anything was missing from my box. I only received one cookie and one box of taffy but I thought that was what it was supposed to be. That being said I think it's a amazing that Fancy took the time and money to send everyone the missing items and extras. Kudos to The Fancy and their awesome customer service.

June Love with Food Box

Love with Food is a monthly subscription box filled with food.  Each month is a different theme and you will receive 5+ gourmet food items. The price is $10 plus $2 for shipping a month or you can sign up for a 6 month plan and shipping is only $1 or a yearly plan and shipping is free which makes the boxes an even $10. In addition to yummy treats for every box sold they donate a meal to a hungry child.

Love with Food has provided a code for $2.00 off for my readers.  Use code TREASUREVIP

This subscription is only available in the US and ships from Santa Clara, California.

The good:

The price: $10-$12 is a reasonable price to pay for yummy treats AND you're donating a meal.

Need a gift: You can send a 3 or 6 month subscription to a friend.  Who wouldn't love getting tasty treats in the mail?

Variety: You get a lot of variety in each box.

Discounts: You can earn points for discounts off future full size product purchases by submitting reviews on their website or referring new members.

The not so good:

Skip a month: Skipping is not an option.  If you don't want a box you will have to cancel.

This months box theme is Summer Beach Bash. Also this month they donated not one but TWO meals to food banks in Oklahoma.

Contents of box with estimated value/retail price listed:

Seaweed Love Olive Oil Roasted Seaweed. Value = $1.19?? - I couldn't find any info on this brand but other brands I've purchase are about this price - I love seaweed and what I liked about this one was it wasn't overly salted or greasy.

Smooze Coconut + Mango Fruit Ice. Value = $1.31

Do More Bars Gluten-free Pineapple Coconut Cereal Bar. Value = $1.69 - words can't describe how delicious this is. It's like a pineapple flavored crispy treat only way better.

.5 oz. pkt. Surf Sweets Organic Fruity Bears. Value = $0.80 - these are always good, they are very fruity tasting

1.05 oz. Turbana Sweet Plantain Chips. Value = $1.05 - I didn't try these but the boyfriend said they were just ok

SoyJoy all-natural Fruit and Soy Bar in pineapple. Value = $1.19 - I don't care much for these bars. They are just to dry and dense.

PUR gum Pomegranate Mint. Value = $1.42

(2) Hillside GoOrganic Hard Candy. Value = $??

Flavrz Organic Drink Mix. Value = $1.00

Naked Wines Gift Card for $50 off. Value = $30.00 - I valued this at $30 since shipping is $10 and you have to buy a minimum of 6 wines. They have a limited number of $9.99 wines so you could buy 6 bottles of that.

Discount code for a 1 year subscription to Food & Wine Magazine for $12.00

The total approximate value of this box is $9.65 not including the gift card and give or take a quarter for the candies. Since I'm already registered with Naked Wines I can't use the gift card so it has no value to me. The Food & Wine discount is nice but I already subscribe to that magazine. I am so glad I was able to try that pineapple cereal bar. I will definitely be ordering these in the future! Also I'm glad they sent the SoyJoy bar even though I didn't care for it. It's something I probably would've purchased at the store and ended up not liking. This box value pretty much broke even but to try most of these items you would have to order it and pay shipping.

If anyone wants my Naked Wines gift card email me at and I'll send you the info. I ordered a bunch of wines using the gift card that came with the Cravebox and they have a nice selection. I was able to get 6 bottles of wine (2 whites, 3 reds and a rose) for a total price of $38.95 with the gift card.

Verdict: Overall I love my Love with Food boxes so it's a keeper.
