Cravebox - Girls Night In

Cravebox isn't a monthly subscription service they just send of boxes of really cool stuff if you are lucky enough to get picked.  Here's how it works.  Sign up on their website to be notified when a box becomes available they will send you an email telling you the drawing is open and what the price of the box will be.  If you choose to enter you will get an email about a week later telling you if you've been chosen or not.  They don't tell you what's in the box, just the theme of the box.

This is the Girls Night In Cravebox and it was priced at $14.00

These boxes are available in the US only and ship from Aurora, Colorado.

The good:

Themed Boxes: While you don't know what exactly is coming in your box you know the general theme and the price it will be.

The price: I don't think.  It ranges from $10-$18 but they always tell you what it will be before you enter.

Referral program: If someone lists your user name as a referral you earn points which may get you a free box.  Also it's retroactive meaning you can add someones user name even if you signed up months ago.  I wish it were clickable link but it's very cool none the less. My user name is pixiepower.

The not so good:

I can't think of anything.

Looks like lots of fun goodies in this box!

Contents of box with approximate retail value listed:

Hills Bros. French Vanilla Cappuccino Mix. Value = $4.99

Ford Warriors in Pink scarf/bandanna. Value = $2.00

3 oz. Tree Hut Renewing Hand Cream in Moroccan Rose. Value = $2.99?? - I couldn't find this for sale anywhere but I think $2.99 sounds right.

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm. Value = $8.99

Fruit 2O. Value = $0.75

2 pack Zaca Recovery Patch. Value = $6.65

New Girl television show nail polish. Value = $2.00?? - This is just a basic polish so $2 sounded fair.

The Mindy Project television show nail polish. Value = $2.00??

New Girl/The Mindy Project television show nail file. Value = $1.00?? - This thing tore my nails up! If you have super thick nails it might work for you.

$50 gift card from Naked Wines. Value = $30.00 - I valued this at $30 since shipping is $10 and you have to buy a minimum of 6 wines. They have a limited number of $9.99 wines so you could buy 6 bottles of that.

The total value of the second Cooking Light Selects box is $61.37 or $31.37 if you don't have the gift card. I thought this was a pretty good box except a couple of things confused me. I'm not sure where a scarf/bandanna would fit in on girls night in. Also there was no info on the Zaca product I had to do some research to figure out that it was a hangover patch. I'm not sure I will use this because I'm to old for hangovers, it takes me several days to recover from a night of drinking enough to have a hangover and I don't have time for that. I really want to try the cappuccino but it has a lot of calories. Maybe I can half it and add it to coffee.

I used the Naked Wines gift card already because our wine supply was getting low. I ended up buying a Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc and a Rose which came to $76.94. After the discount, shipping and taxes my cost was $38.95 or $6.50 per bottle. If your a wine drinker this is a really good deal - if the wines are good, if they aren't well hey you only spent $6 on the bottle.

Verdict: I thought this box was ok, not fantastic but definitely not horrible.
