April Glossybox

Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends 5 travel size beauty items a month.  You can sign up monthly for $21/month, 6 months for $115 (breaks down to $19.16/month), or yearly for $220 (breaks down to $18.33/month).  Shipping is included in all of these prices. The price is a higher than a lot of the other beauty companies but they say they include luxury items and in my experience they do.  The company ships their boxes towards the end of the month so you will receive it at the end of the month.  There is a little customization from a survey you take when you sign up.

This subscription is available in the US (not including Alaska or Hawaii), Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

The good:

The brands: They have well known quality brands like OPI, Zoya, Burberry, C.O. Bigelow, Ahava, Sebastian and other brands specific to other countries.

The sizes: They send deluxe size samples and a couple of items were full sized.

The box: I know it's just a box but it's a really nice sturdy box in a nice shade of pink.  The only logo is on the top and it's not very big.  That makes this box perfect for reusing for a gift box.

Information. They provide information on the products you receive and how much the full size is priced at.  I like knowing this info up front and not having to search for it.

Free stuff: If you provide feedback on your products you earn Glossydots which will eventually earn you a free box.

The not so good:

The price: This can be a little high for some people but if you want to receive known/quality brands it's worth it.

The theme is this Glossybox is Work That Beauty.

Contents of box w/approximate retail value listed and full size price in parenthesis:

.85 oz. Alterna Haircare Boho Waves spray. Value = $4.45

FULL SIZE Bvlgari scented tea bag for bath. Value = $9.50

FULL SIZE The Honest Company Lip Balm. Value = $3.65

FULL SIZE Tigi Cosmetics Glow Blush. Value = $22.00

1 oz. Wash with Joe coffeemint body wash. Value = $1.75

.10 oz. Le Metier De Beaute Replenishing Daily Solution Value = $13.24

The total value of my Glossybox is $54.59. The high value item in this months box is the blush which I'm not too excited about. I like the Tigi brand but I don't wear blush - mostly out of laziness.  Everything else is great though. I hope the bath product isn't too strong smelling. I'm very curious about the coffee body wash, I hope it doesn't leave me smelling like a coffee shop! I've used the boho waves products before and I like them. I have a convertible so I find it's perfect on the days I drive around with the top down cause my hair blows everywhere anyway and this gives it a little texture.

Verdict: This months Glossybox had some fun products that I can't wait to try.

  1. I liked the Bvlgari tea bag - not too strong smelling. I don't think I like it $9.50 worth though..

The Wash With Joe kind of weirded me out..dark brown body wash, hmm. It didn't seem to have too much of a lingering coffee smell though =)

    1. Thanks for the info. I was going to use the blvgari this weekend but went for a bath bomb instead. Dark brown body wash is kind of odd. I hadn't thought about that....
