April Dumpling Box

Dumpling Box is a fairly new monthly subscription for Asian snacks. Currently there is a wait list for the box and I'm not sure how long the wait is but if you want to be added to the list email them at I hope this box continues to be successful but I love the uniqueness of it. The price of the box is $10 a month and they send the box based on when you signed up. I signed up in the middle of the month so I get my boxes then.

Dumpling Box will send you a box of goodies and a little card that tells you what it's called, where it's from and the ingredients.  Perfect!

This subscription is currently available in the US only and ships from Belmont, Massachusetts

The good:

Like Asian snacks: This is a great box if you're a snacker and specifically enjoy snacks from the Asian region.

Price: The price is fair considering these are not easily found products.

Information: I like that they include the information on the product with ingredients.

The not so good:

Skip: There is no option to skip, only cancel.

Paypal payment: They use paypal for payment which is good except paypal always uses your balance before the backup method which I don't like.

Contents of Dumpling box.

Chaoli Lemon Flavor Candy, China

Daliyuan Soft French Bread Banana Flavor, China - I didn't taste the banana but it sure did taste like dense french bread.

Green Tea Biscuits, China - pretty good, very slight green tea flavor.

IKC Assorted Jelly, Korea - I liked these, they were unexpected.

Inaba Irodori, Japan - This was the rice cracker pack but when I started eating it I noticed little dried fish inside. I thought oh what the heck and it was pretty good. I liked this.

Pumpkin Seed Biscuit, Hong Kong - pretty good, reminded me of cereal mushed together with syrup.  no pumpkin flavor.

Pumpkin Wheat, Korea

Saqima, China

Ten Candy Ton, Taiwan

I'm not going to attempt to find a value on these items because it would take me way too much time to even find these items.  In my opinion I think it's worth $10 but I love unique foods.  I thought the little jelly ice cream cone was fun to eat. I had expected the cone to be crunchy but it was soft. I thought the french bread was delicious even though I didn't taste any banana. My boyfriends mom is going to China this month, which I had thought about going with her but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money. I took her to the airport instead and drown my sorrows in my dumpling box. She's going to be gone for the whole month and is going to Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Tibet, Yangtze river cruise, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Cambodia. What an amazing trip huh? So jealous! I'm hoping she brings us back some fun food finds.

Verdict: I really enjoy this box.  I think it's unique and fun and I'm going to keep subscribing.

  1. My favorite thing in this box was the Saqima by far. It was kinda like a more savory rice krispy treat. I am going to get my dumpling box for this month soon!

    1. Is that the thing on the left (in my pic) in the clear packaging with the red writing? It's so funny to think I have no idea what I'm eating. I thought I would like that the most but I actually didn't care for it.

    2. HOLD ON JUST A SECOND. I just went on their website and it said that the may box will be their last box. Now I am sad. But now what box should I get?? Any suggestions?

    3. And yes that is the Saquima. I can read a little bit of a lot of asian languages so I just sound everything out and see if it sounds the same as the card.

    4. Are you kidding me! This can't happen! I love this box. Nooooooooooooooo

    5. I know me too! And I though business was going good. Maybe shelly just got overwhelmed or something.

  2. I just got my May box with a note about it being the last box. They actually sent me two identical boxes which is weird. I'm really sad because I love this box! :(

    1. did they send two boxes in one month? I'm bummed about this box going away also. I wonder if it just got to be too much. I'm gonna miss this fun little box.
