March NatureBox

Nature Box is a food related monthly subscription that sends 15-20 servings of delicious snacks from 4-6 different items.  Their products contain no high fructose corn syrup, no partially hydrogenated oils, no trans fat, no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors.  The cost for this subscription is $19.95 shipping included.  In addition for every Nature Box sent out they donate a meal through Feeding America.  I had heard new members were able to customize their boxes but they that was not available for existing subscribers.  I ended up canceling my membership and resubscribing so I could customize my box but I still wasn't able to figure out how to do it.  There is a little note under my account that says this feature is coming soon.  Ugh!

This month the theme of the box is "Spring Training"

This subscription is available to all US states and ships from San Carlos, California

The good:

Good for you: You get snacks for you and your family that are good for you.

Variety: There is something for everyone, fruit, nuts, rice crackers.

Skip a month: Yes you can skip a month or have your box sent to a friend.  The not so good is you have to call in order to do this.  There is no online option for this feature but they are working on it.

Need a gift: You can send a 3, 6 or 12 month gift subscription.  Perfect for college students, frequent travelers, moms, singles, really anyone!

The not so good:

Customize: Your supposed to able to customize your choices but I can't figure out how that works.

Want more: Love you snack and want to order more?  Currently they don't have an option to purchase more but they are working on making that a possibility.

My Nature Box Treasures.

Contents of my Nature Box:

(4) 1 oz. servings Honey Mesquite Almonds - pretty good but not fantastic.

(5) 1 oz. servings Roasted Kettle Kernals - these are like corn nuts on sweet.  They are great!

(2) servings Granny Smith Apple Rings

(4.5) 1 oz. serving Toasted Cheddar Stix - These are pretty good alone but I added them to my tomato soup and it added the perfect texture and cheddar flavor.

(4) 1 oz. serving Sunshine Chips - I wanted to like these but I could taste the oil, I think I would prefer them baked.

Recipe for Crunchy Kettle Monkeys from MOMables - uses the roasted kettle kernals.

Its hard to determine a value of the products because there is so much variation in this type of food.  I looked at a couple of organic dried fruit items online and they were about $4.50 a bag.  I know when I've purchased nuts before in a package or bulk it's about $3-$5 depending on the brand, etc.  What I received this month works out to be $4.00 a bag and I think that's pretty average for these type of snacks. I like that that send a variety of items because I enjoy the mixed nuts items but the boyfriend is more of a dried fruit kind guy.

Verdict: Great variety of items and great healthy snacks but I really want to be able to customize!

  1. If you call them, they can switch the customizing option on for you.

    1. I think I will have to do that. When I originally email them they said canceling and resubbing would fix the problem.

  2. It says on my dashboard: "Exciting changes are coming! We are currently testing out the ability to personalize your NatureBox. We are rolling this feature out over the next few weeks, please stay tuned to see when your account is activated!" Then over on the right it says I have 9 days to make changes. I wont be sticking around if it doesn't happen because I hate throwing out food because I don't like it or it has soy which I can't have because it turns to estrogen.

    1. Mine says the same thing except I have 19 days to make changes. When I canceled I resubscribed I did it through email and was told that would allow me to customize. I think I will email them again.

    2. I emailed customer service and they emailed me back super fast. They fixed whatever the issue was because now I'm able to choose all my stuff. The only problem I have now is what to choose!
