March Julibox Collection No #7

Julibox is a subscription box for those who like the beverages of the adult variety. Each month Julibox sends out a recipes for two different cocktails and all the ingredients necessary to make them (minus any fresh fruit).  Each cocktail will be enough to serve two people so basically you get four cocktails per box.  Julibox cost $40 if you do a month to month membership and can go as low as $36 a month if you sign up for a 6 month membership.  Shipping is included in all prices.  The nice thing about the 3, 6 or 2 month memberships is they don't bill you in advance they still be you once a month.  I signed up for a 6 month subscription and this is my third box.

They say you can buy more of anything you like in their shop but when I clicked on their store page the only thing for sale were some older boxes which were all sold out.

This months theme is "I Love Paris in the Springtime"

This subscription only ships in the US and only to certain states that don't have restrictions on alcohol shipments.  The package ships from Brooklyn, New York via UPS and requires adult of 21 years or older to sign.

The good:

Like new drinks: This is a great way to try new drinks without buying a full size bottle of alcohol.

Need a gift: You can gift Julibox. What a better way to say thanks than with a cocktail.

Monthly billing: I like that if you sign up for 3 months or longer they still bill you monthly.  If you cancel before the end of the subscription term they will charge you $15.00 This seems like a fair deal to me.

The not so good:

Price: The price ends up being $9-$10 per drink which is right around regular bar prices.  The benefit is you can drink in the comfort of your own home.

This is an example of the email that is sent about a week before the package arrives.  It tells you what fresh produce you will need to go with your cocktails.

This is what it looks like when you open the box.  The glass bottle are wrapped in bubble wrap and tissue paper.

Here are the bottle and recipe cards for each drink.

Cocktail #1 Les Deux Magot

100 ml bottle of Banks 5 Island Rum. Value = $3.99

50 ml bottle of St. Germain. Value = $4.99

The total value of this cocktail is $4.49 per drink.

Cocktail #2 Pear Flower

(2) 50 ml bottle of St. Germain. Value = $4.99/ea.

(2) 50 ml bottle of Grey Goose La Poire. Value = $5.99/ea.

can of Perrier. Value = $1.50

The total value of this cocktail is $11.73 per drink.

The total value in this box is $32.44.  That's about $8.11 per drink and the cost of the box is $9-$10 per drink. I thought the value of this box was great and I'll be honest I was super happy to see Grey Goose in the box. That stuff is delicious!.

Verdict: I'm liking this box more and more.

  1. Aw, man, I just checked and they don't ship to texas. Buuuuumed!

    1. Well that's just crazy! I've been to Texas and as I recall they had drive through liquor stores, I'm surprised there is shipping restrictions on alcohol.

  2. ok so I had to do a double take and make sure that that was actually alcohol. This would be a great gift for one of my inlaws or friends. I'm about to see about if they ship to Alabama. Thanks for sharing! I never ever woulda thought that there was a subscription box like this. This just solved several gift ideas for me. =D

    1. I think it would make a perfect gift also. At first I was kinda iffy on the whole thing but as the boxes started coming and we made some drinks it was fun. I need to find a little file box or sleeves so I can save my recipes cards - they really are nice.
