February Julep Bombshell Box

Julep is a monthly subscription company for nail polishes. When you sign up for Julep you take a little quiz and it will tell you what kind of polish girl you are.  You are not obligated to stay with that that type though.  When I first signed up the website said I was Boho Glam but liked the It Girl colors better so I picked that one.  You always have the option of switching styles each month.  The monthly fee is $19.99 w/shipping included.  The company advertises that you will receive $40 worth of product for $19.99.  Also you will 20% all purchases from their website.  Thank you to my awesome readers for using my referral link, because of you I received this box for free.

The good:

The colors: If you like nail polish then it's a nice way to experiment with multiple colors

Skip a month? Yes! you can skip a month.  They will send an email when your selections are ready and you have 4 days to let them know to skip the month.

Need a gift? If you want to send your box to a friend there is an option to do so.  Just log on to your account and click send to friend.

Ingredients: Julep is 4-free which means it's formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene or DBP free.

Want the polish but not he commitment?  You can buy the polish online at Julep.com or in Sephora stores.  The cost is $14 so if you like polish then becoming a Maven is a better deal.  If you want to try it out first you can always pick one up at Sephora or online.

Referral program. You earn "Jules" for referrals, purchases, anniversary, birthday and upgrades.

The not so good:

Quality:  Some of the colors are more chiporific that others.  I find that if you are diligent about using a top coat it really helps.  I don't have that same issue with other polishes like Essie.

Sorry this picture is so dark.  This is the Bombshell box.  The extra items were 2 chocolate hearts and an eyelash curler.  I had actually been wanting an eyelash curler so this was cool.

Ginger, Laura, Oxygen Nail Treatment and Freedom Polymer Top Coat.

Contents of Bombshell box w/retail price:

Ginger, Sand holographic. Value = $14.00

Laura, Olive khaki creme. Value = $14.00

Oxygen Nail Treatment. Value = $18.00 - This has a really shiny finish and made my nails a little harder although I still broke a couple.  My nails are really thin and break a lot.

Freedom Polymer Top Coat. Value $18.00 - This was a bonus included in all the boxes this month.  It's suppose to protect nails from chipping and give you a gel like shine.

2 chocolate hearts

Eyelash curler

The approximate value of my Bombshell Maven box is $64.00 if I bought these at full retail price.  I was really curious about the holographic polish.  It looks like it's going to have a matte finish.  I would like to try and get creative and do some sort of camouflage design and Laura would fit into that great.  I used to get gel manicures but stopped because I didn't like putting my hands under the UV lights (I don't need help aging my skin).  I love the way they lasted so hopefully this new top coat will help the polish last longer.

Verdict: I like Julep.  They offer fun boxes, skipping the month is easy and their mystery boxes are a great value.

**I am not any type of sponsor paid or unpaid for Julep.  I pay for these subscriptions myself, except for this month because I have awesome readers who used my referral link
