February Glam Bag

This week I received my first Glam Bag.  What is a Glam Bag?  Thanks for asking. Glam Bags come from My Glam.  It's a monthly beauty subscription service where you receive 4-5 samples of different beauty products to try out.  The cost is $10 a month with free shipping but they they have a yearly subscription rate for $110 which drops the price down to $9.16.

The good:
The brands.  They sent out brands like Freeman, Urban Decay, NYX, etc.

The samples.  The samples are brands are well known and products I would use.  The sample sizes are good size and contain a useful amount of product.

The choice.  You don't get to pick your samples which is great if you like surprises.

The packaging.  It comes with a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

The extras: Coupons were included in the bag for the sample products.

You can cancel anytime with no penalties. Even with yearly subscriptions.

The not so good:

Skip a month?  There is no option to skip a month.  If you don't want to receive a bag that month you have to cancel your subscription and re-sign up if you want to start it up again.  This could be a problem if there is a wait list to sign-up.

The price: It works out to $2 an item which is reasonable for a couple of the items but a little overpriced for others.

The choice: You don't get to pick you items so you may end up with things that you might not use.

Without further ado....the kit (click on the pic for a larger version)

Yes my friends that is a bright hot pink mailer.  Opening my mailbox and seeing that put a smile on my face.  The pink bag with hearts is what all the goodies came in.

The products:
.5 fl oz Freeman Facial Pineapple Enzyme Mask

1.5g NYX roll on shimmer for eyes, face and body with code for 30% off future purchase.  I received pink which is something I will use.

.75 fl oz X Out Shine Control with coupon for free gift with future purchase

.07 oz ea Premier facial serum and revitalizing mask with 50% off code for future purchase

2 squares Ghiradelli chocolate

$100 discount card for Nu-Me professional styling tools

That's a Glam Bag.  Although I'm not as excited about this kit as the Beauty Army one I'm going to continue receiving it and will keep you posted on future treasures.

**I pay for these kits myself and am not any type of sponsor paid or unpaid for  My Glam.

Love with Food

Hi everyone.  I wanted to share a new box with you that I haven't actually received yet.  Huh? I know but read on.
Love with Food is a new monthly subscription company where you receive 5+ gourmet food samples each month for $14 including shipping.  Right now they have a deal where you receive your first box free using code FBFAN (expires Feb 28th).  So the reason I'm telling you about this without having actually received a box is because it's free! The only caveat is you have to sign up with a credit card but if you don't like your free box then cancel before the next month.  If you are so-so on the first box give a second box a try and look at it as buy one month get one free.
The other thing I'm loving about this company is for every box you buy they donate a meal to Share our Strength No Kid Hungry.  LOVE THAT!
They also have a referral program that allows you to earn points for future purchases in their shop.  So if you decide to sign up please click on the links in my blog Love with Food.

This is a picture of the February Box.  If you sign up I'm not sure if they will start with February or March.

February Beauty Army Kit

I received my first Beauty Army kit today.  What is Beauty Army you may ask?  This is a monthly subscription service where you get to choose up to 6 items to try out.  The cost is $12 a month and that includes shipping.  They also offer a yearly deal for $132 which means your 12th month is free dropping the price down to $11 a month.

The Good:
The brands. You will get options from Joico, LaRocca, Freeman, StriVectin, etc.  These are well known brands. They also say they use brands from emerging companies which is also fun.

The box.  I am very impressed with the little box it comes in.  It's well made and can be re-used for storage, gifting treasure boxes of your own making, keeping your treasures organized, etc.

The samples.  I was very happy with the selection of samples presented to me and I think I picked some good ones!

The price.  $12 Shipping included seems reasonable to me to be able to try a useful amount of product.  I know you can get samples at a store for free but this is an actual useful amount.  It's enough to use several times to see if you actually like the product not a tiny little smear of something.  It works out to $2 an item.  Would I buy these items if I saw them in the store for $2 each?  Yeah I probably would so I'll keep the subscription going.

The not so Good:

Paying for the year. If you decide to take the plunge and pay for a year be advised there are no refunds for yearly subscriptions. So basically you have to finish out the year whether you like it or not.

Skip a month? If you choose the monthly option and for some reason there is absolutely nothing you would like to sample that month there is no option to skip a month.  This means if you don't pick they will pick for you based on your preferences.  If you like surprises this could be perfect for you.

The Box. The box has the company name on the front along with a bunch of beauty type phrases.  This makes your re-gifting options limited and it's too good a box to just toss.

Without further ado....the kit (click on the pic for a larger version)

This is the box that everything comes in.  It's hard sided cardboard and can be reused.
When you open the box there is a little card saying they hope you enjoy your samples and reminding you that full size products can be purchased on their website.  This is a nice feature because you can order a variety of brands for a flat shipping fee of $5.
Each item is wrapped in pink tissue paper.  Not really necessary but a nice touch.
These are my products:
1.7fl oz Joico K-Pak for hair.  Smells good not like chemicals

1.6oz Indie Lee Coconut Citrus Body Scrub. Smells amazing! like lemons and gingerbread.

2.2fl oz SunFX Body Wash.  This is a gel, no real smell. Perfect for a travel or gym bag.

.33fl oz CellCeuticals CellGenesis for reducing wrinkles, firming and toning. No strong smell

1oz Shea Terra Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Cleanser. Says its micro-dermabrasion in a bottle. I'm excited to try this because I loved the micro-dermabrasion facial I had.  This is brown and thick with no smell surprisingly

FULL SIZE My Face Cosmetics eyeshadow in Morocco.  Used this and loved it.  It's a nice neutral color with a hint of gold and lots of sparkles.  Used it with brown eyeliner and a smidgen of purple shadow on the lower lid.

So this is the kit. I am going to continue my subscription to this kit and I will keep you posted on my other treasures.  Hope you enjoyed it!

Intro!

Let me introduce myself.  I'm a sucker for a deal and love getting presents in the mail even if I bought them myself.  Even when I was a kid one of my favorite things was to check the mail even though I hardly ever received anything.  I decided to start this blog so I can share my deals and treasures with everyone cause after all Everyone Loves A Treasure.
I belong to a few subscription type companies where basically they send you a box of goodies every month for a fee.  Sometimes the fees are small $10 and some are large $50.  I will share those products with you and you can see for yourself if it's worth it.  I also do a lot of online shopping and will share with you some of my favorite places to shop and what I bought.
Hope you enjoy my blog and happy shopping!
