September PopSugar Must Have Box

The PopSugar Must Have Box was probably one of the most anticipated new subscription services this summer.  I know there were quite a few people who were disappointed in the first box and canceled their subscription.  While I wasn't super impressed with the first box, mostly because of the duplicates the sent I decided to stay and see what the next box brought.  I figured the company would listen to their customers and step it up for the next box and they did.  Last month's box was fantastic! The price of the box is $35 a month w/shipping included.  They also have 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions and each one saves you a little bit of money.  The company says you will receive full size and premium items worth over $100 (based on the manufacturer MSRP at the time acquired by Sugar)

The good:

Products: Full size products as promised and a nice variety of beauty, home etc.

Pricing structure: They have monthly, 3, 6 and yearly subscriptions.  Each one (except monthly) saves you a little bit of money.

Referrals: The offer a generous referral program.  Refer 2 people get a month free.  5 people 3 months free and 10 people is 6 months free.

The not so good:

The price: $35 is a little high for a monthly box but you do get some really cool stuff.  '

Skip a month: There is no option to skip, only cancel.

This month's box was so full I had to take multiple pictures.

Picture #1 with a scarf, facial towelettes, caramels, hair ties and a little pouch.

Picture #2 with Benefits Cabana Glama set.

Picture #3 with "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" book, 2 movie tickets for the movie and a coupon for Tracie Martyn Skin Care products.

Picture #4 with sweet potato chips, a notepad and a coupon for a free meal from Pop-Up Pantry.

What a haul!  This is by far their best box to date.  I'm so glad I stuck with it and didn't cancel after the first month.

Contents of box with retail price:

Brokedown Scarf in Silver Marble Fringe. Value = $84.00 - This scarf is amazing! It's big enough to be used as a wrap, it's soft and the perfect neutral color.  My picture doesn't do it justice so click here for a better pic. They also included a coupon for 50% your next order.

"The Perk of Being a Wallflower" book. Value = $14.00

2 tickets for the movie "The Perks of Being a Wallflower". Value = $24.00

Lined Notepad from Rifle Paper. Value = $8.00

Benefit's Cabana Glama combination set with bronzing powder, foundation, lip & cheek stain, eyeshadow palette and applicator. Value = $36.00 (but currently on sale online for $18.99)

3 pieces (1 oz.) of Becky's Blissful Bakery Caramels. Value = $2.62 (4 oz. bag $10.49)

1 free dinner for 2 from Pop-Up Pantry w/a sugar cookie . Value = $40.00 - I subscribe to pop-up pantry and was unable to use the coupon because it was for new customers only.  I emailed the company and asked if they would consider doing something for existing customers and they applied $25 credit to my account.  The sugar cookie was tasty but I like my homemade ones better. ; )

10 pack of Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Towelettes. Value = $2.00 (30 pk $5.99)

4 Kitsch Hair Ties. Value = $7.99 (5 pack $9.99)

1.5 oz bag of Sweet Potato Chips from Food Should Taste Good. Value = $1.00 - These were delicious. They tasted just like roasted sweet potato.  It actually inspired me to roast some sweet potato's for dinner that night.

Coupon for $25.00 off Tracie Martyn Skin Care. Value = $25.00

Must Have Pouch. Value = $3.00? (guessing)

The total value of this month's box is 202.60-222.61 (depending on how you value the Benefit product and black pouch). That's amazing!  I can't believe they sent all of this stuff in one box!  I didn't count the coupon for the skin care items because the cheapest thing I could find was $38 (a room spray) and this would cause an out of pocket money to use.  Also you can't use the coupon online, you have to call the salon in New York to use it.  If it's a product you already use then this is great for you but I'm probably not going to go through the hassle to try it.  don't know if the scarf is actually worth $84 but it feels amazingly soft.  I thought the book and movie tickets were pretty cool I just hope I can use the tickets before the movie is no longer in theaters.  A whole set of Benefit makeup? How cool is that!?!  I'm was very surprised and happy to see pop-up pantry also.  I can always use facial towelettes and hair ties.

Verdict: PopSugar is a definite must have!  The last 2 boxes have been great, I sure hope they keep that up!

**I am not any type of sponsor paid or unpaid for PopSugar.  I purchase these subscriptions myself.

  1. I was concerned about not finding the movie in theaters but according to Wikipedia it won't be out in wide release until October 5th. Hopefully it will hit more theaters at that time.

  2. Good to know. It's playing at a theatre near my house but wasn't sure how long it would be there. Hopefully it will play at a theatre even closer to my house. I was hoping to read the book first.
