September Blissmo Fair Trade Favorites

The Blissmo box is a monthly subscription service geared toward organic & eco products that are described as safer and better for you.  Each month they offer different boxes to choose from which vary based on themes or seasons. They offer various pricing structures depending monthly, 6 months or yearly.  The base price is always $19 but for monthly subscriptions add $5.95 shipping for 6 months subscriptions add $2.95 shipping and for yearly subscriptions shipping is free.  The company advertises that you will receive between $19-$40 worth of items for your $19-24.95.
Each month they send you an email with a choice of 2-3 boxes to pick from.  I've never had an issue of them running out of the box I want but I usually pick my box within a day or two of getting the email.  The September choices were Pantry Picks, Fair Trade Favorites II and Skin 'n' Hair Care.  Since I receive many beauty and food boxes already I went with Fair Trade Favorites II.  Last time the offered the Fair Trade box it sold out and was a really positive response.

Another cool thing Blissmo has been doing is offering boxes on their facebook page.  They sell the boxed for $19.95 with free shipping, it's a one time purchase with no membership required.  They don't always have boxes available but it's worth checking out if you want a box but don't want to commit.

I know this review is a little late but Blissmo said they had some shipping issues so I just received this box last weekend. Better late than never right?

The good:

Like trying new things but not sure what to try? This is a good way to start trying new products without being overwhelmed or spending a bunch of money.

Variety: They offer different theme boxes.
Pricing: The company changed their pricing structure.  If you plan on subscribing yearly they give you free shipping.

Information: They include a card with information about the company and their products.  Also on the card they list the value of each item received, I really appreciate this.

The not so good:

Skip a month? Yes, you can skip a month but they still charge you.  So if you skip October you will still be charged but you won't be charged again until you use that credit.  If you're skipping the month in order to save money this doesn't work.  The good part of it is if none of the boxes appeal to you then you aren't forced to waste the money so that's good.  I just think it would be easier for the customer to have the option to skip the month and not be charged.

This is a picture of what the select your box email looks like.  They don't tell you what's in the box but give you little descriptions.  Through the email you click to their site and select your box. They send the emails mid-month and give you about a week to decide.

Contents of box with retail price listed:

12 oz. bag Green Mountain Coffee Vermont County Blend. Value = $9.69

4 oz bar of Hand in Hand Orange Blossom Soap. Value = $9.00

50 ml container of Akoma Shea Million. Value = $7.95

Eco-Lips hemp Lip Balm. Value = $3.49

Mini Larabar in Chocolate Chip Brownie. Value = $1.60

Mini Larabar in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Value = $1.60 - This was dry and not very tasty.

Sjaaks Eli's Earth Bar. Value $2.29

The total value of my box is $35.62.  I think this is a great box.  I use Green Mountain K-Cups at work so I know I like the coffee.  This will be great at home.  I like Larabars and the mini ones are a perfect little snack size.  I'm not too sure the hemp lip balm, hemp really isn't my thing. The shea will be great for these upcoming drying winter months.  The soap looks nice but $9.00 seems a little high priced - but for every bar purchased they donate a bar to a child in the developing world to help prevent water-related illness.  I shouldn't judge before trying though, it could be totally worth the price.  That's what I love about these boxes.  I can try these items without spending a fortune.

Verdict: Blissmo box never fails to disappointed.

I am not any type of sponsor paid of unpaid for Blissmo.  I purchase these subscriptions myself.

  1. I love this box! FINALLY got it today after finding out they didn't send mine due to a glitch in the system. I don't drink coffee, but it looks great and I'm sure my boyfriend and his brother would like it. As for the rest - I'm so excited to try them all out! The packaging on the soap is adorable and the shea butter is packed so nicely I don't want to dip my finger in and ruin it.

    1. No, you don't get to choose what's in the box. They give you a choice of boxes each month and tell you a little about the box but you don't know what's exactly in them.
