October ipsy/Glam Bag

Glam Bag recently changed their name to Ipsy.  I think I read somewhere that ipsy means "for you or about you" or something similar.  The value of the Ipsy/Glam bag has always been high compared to the price paid.  I have had a few items I didn't care for but I figure better to try them inexpensively than pay full price and not like it.   With Ipsy you receive 4-5 samples and a makeup bag for $10 a month with shipping included. If you sign up yearly it's $110 which brings the price down the $9.16 a month with shipping included.

The good:

The samples.  They seem to include at least one full size sample each month, which is nice.

The packaging. Each month the products come in a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

The not so good:

Skip a month? There is no option to skip a month. If you don't want to receive a bag that month you have to cancel your subscription and re-sign up if you want to start it up again. This could be a problem if there is a wait list to sign-up.

The price: $10 a month.  You could spend that easily on one item at Sephora or Ulta.
The choice: You don't get to pick you items so you may end up with things that you might not use

Contents of my ipsy bag:

Contents with bag with retail price listed.
.07 oz. Coastal Scents eye shadow sample 4 colors (peach puff, cherry chocolate, nude & white silver). Value = $3.49 (full size single color is .04 oz $1.99)

FULL SIZE Be a Bombshell Eye Liner in onyx. Value = $14.00

.11 oz. The Balm What's Your Type Body Builder Mascara. Value = $6.33 (.33 oz 19.00)

FULL SIZE .5 oz. Pequi Oil hair Treatment. Value = $12.00 - I love this stuff.  I used it on my damp hair and it felt so soft all day and I couldn't stop touching it.

FULL SIZE Mirenesse Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain in #9 (light pink). Value = $39.00

black, white and red colored wristlet

The total value of this months bag is $74.82 not including the makeup bag.  That is crazy high!  This month they included 3 full size products which was very cool.  I'm not too thrilled with the color of the lip bomb but I've heard really good things about the way it feels on.  The eye shadow sample is very small but I love all the colors and that they gave multiple colors to try.  I know I can get several uses out of each one.  I've been using macadamia nut oil on my hair so I'm curious if the pequi oil works just as well.  The eyeliner is a basic black and is like a fat marker.  I'm not usually good with liquid liners but I'm willing to give it a try.  I'm always a fan of mascara so this was very cool to get.

Verdict: This is a nice inexpensive subscription for makeup.

**I am not any type of sponsor paid or unpaid for Ipsy.  I pay for these subscriptions myself.
