October Bombshell Maven Box

Julep is a monthly subscription company for nail polishes. When you sign up for Julep you take a little quiz and it will tell you what kind of polish girl you are.  You are not obligated to stay with that that type though.  When I first signed up the website said I was Boho Glam but liked the It Girl colors better so I picked that one.  You always have the option of switching styles each month.  The monthly fee is $19.99 w/shipping included.  The company advertises that you will receive $40 worth of product for $19.99.  Also you will 20% all purchases from their website.  I skip most months because I bought several of their mystery boxes but I like the selections for this month.  Also because of my awesome readers clicking on my referral links I received this box for free.  I wish I could thank you personally by name but Julep doesn't tell me who signed up just that someone did.

The good:

The colors: If you like nail polish then it's a nice way to experiment with multiple colors

Skip a month? Yes! you can skip a month.  They will send an email when your selections are ready and you have 4 days to let them know to skip the month.

Need a gift? If you want to send your box to a friend there is an option to do so.  Just log on to your account and click send to friend.

Ingredients: Julep is 4-free which means it's formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene or DBP free.

Want the polish but not he commitment?  You can buy the polish online at Julep.com or in Sephora stores.  The cost is $14 so if you like polish then becoming a Maven is a better deal.  If you want to try it out first you can always pick one up at Sephora or online.

Referral program. If two of your friends sign up you get a free month!

The not so good:

Price: Seems kind of high to me for nail polish but if you're a polish girl it's a great price.
Quality: I'm not sure about the quality of these polishes.  They seem to chip rather easily on me.  This could just be an issue for me though.  I have very thin bendy nails, I type a lot in my job and I cook a lot.  They say they have a professional chip-resistant formulation that is delivered via their exclusive flat brush with micro-frayed brush hairs.  I have been experimenting with this though in the last couple of months and I find the chipping occurs more if you use more than one coat.  So if you can use one coat of polish and always a top coat.

This is my Simply Bewitching Bombshell Maven Box. There were lots of people complaining about the crackle polish being in the boxes but I thought it would be perfect for Halloween so I didn't mind it.

.27 oz./8ml bottle of Keira. Value = $14.00

.27 oz./8ml bottle of Ursula creme crackle polish. Value = $14.00

1 oz. Julep Quick Dry Polish Drops. Value = $14.00

1 pot of orange glitter. Value = $2.00-$3.00

1 pot of black glitter. Value = $2.00-$3.00

small bag of candy corn

The value of my Bombshell Maven box is $46.00-$48.00 if I bought these items at full price.  I use the Zoya quick dry drops and they really do work so I thought I would give the Julep drops a try.  I've never used glitter on my nails before so this was kind of a cool surprise.  I have a feeling it's going to get messy.  I know the crackle polish fad sort of came and went but I wanted this for Halloween.
Verdict: I like Julep.  They offer fun boxes, skipping the month is easy and their mystery boxes are a great value.

**I am not any type of sponsor paid or unpaid for Julep.  I pay for these subscriptions myself, except for this month because I have awesome readers who used my referral link.
