May Eco Emi box

I recently added Eco-Emi to my ever growing list of subscription services. Eco-Emi ships their boxes towards the end of the month so I received my May box the last day in May.  Since I receive so many other items at the beginning of the month it's nice looking forward to this one at the end.

Eco Emi is an monthly subscription company that sends a minimum of 5 eco-friendly products to you every month for a fee of $15 (shipping included). The products range from beauty, household, food, etc.  The items arrive in a small USPS flat rate box. There was no other packaging inside the box. This goes along with their eco-conscious practices and I appreciate it. While I do like some of the boxes, bags my other subscriptions come in I'm gathering quite a collection because I can't bring myself to toss them and I've haven't been able to re-purpose them yet. Inside the box is a little note card with information on all the products in the box.

The good:

Price: As you know eco-friendly products tend to be more expensive than regular products.  This can be an issue when trying out new things.  Who wants to spend a ton of money on something they end up not liking.  Eco-emi charges $15 and they give you lots of items to try and the value is more than the $15.

Eco-friendly: Every little bit helps right?

Variety:  It's not just beauty products.  You get food, beauty, home.  A little something for everyone.

Information: The card they put in the box not only has information on the products but the pricing as well. The also enclose a pamphlet every month on an organization.  This month is information about the Sea Turtle conservancy in Florida.

The not so good:

Skip a month: There is no option to skip a month.  If you don't want a box you have to cancel.

Payment method: You have to set up a recurring payment through paypal.  I personally don't like this.  I like to keep my paypal funds separate from items I use a credit card for.

This is how the box looked when I opened it. The little items are in an organza pouch and the other two bigger items are in the box.

My treasures!

Contents of box.  The full size price and size is listed in parenthesis

Full Size (3.5oz) Mangosteen & Pineapple Candle Tin by Beeluxe. value = $10.00  http://www.beeluxe.com/

Full Size (.43 oz) The All Natural Face Vegan Lip Gloss in peppermint stick. value = $4.60 http://www.theallnaturalface.com/ - I liked this, it tasted like a peppermint candy on my lips.  The color was nice too, not too bright with the appropiate amount of sparkle

.18 oz (guessing) The All Natural Face Tangerine Lip Exfolient. value = $1.00 (1 oz $8.05) http://www.theallnaturalface.com/ - I scrubbed my lips with this and out of curiosity tasted it.  I don't recommend the tasting it as it is very salty. My lips felt nice and smooth afterwards and I followed it up with the lip gloss.

1 pkg Spearmint Glee Gum. value $0.83 (pk of 12 $10.00) http://www.gleegum.com/ - The flavor was good but it stuck to my teeth.

.75oz (guessing) The Seaweed Bath Co. Argan Shampoo. value $1.06 (12 oz $16.89) http://www.theseaweedbathco.com/ - This was ok.  It didn't have a lot of lather to it and I like a lot of lather in my shampoo.  The smell was nice and my hair felt good.

.75 oz (guessing) The Seaweed Bath Co. Argan Conditioner. value $1.06 (12 oz $16.89) http://www.theseaweedbathco.com/ - I used this after using the shampoo.  It didn't leave my hair feeling heavy which is also a sign of a good conditioner

1 oz (guessing) Ellbee's Original Garlic Seasoning rub. value $1.00 (8 oz $8.00).  This came with a recipe card but the recipe is for the sweet and smokey flavor they sell. Also in lasts months box was a coupon for this product but I didn't save it.  http://www.ellebees.com/

6 oz bag Pinto Beans and Flax Chips by Beanitos. value $3.05 - I've had this brand before in a different flavor (black bean) and I enjoyed it.  This flavor was ok but given the choice I wouldn't buy it. http://www.beanitos.com/

.11 oz Barlean's Mango Peach Omega Swirl Fish Oil. value = $0.19 (8 oz $13.99) http://www.barleans.com/ - I tasted this plain adn it wasn't bad.  It had a nice peach flavor.  I ended up mixing it up in my yogurt.

.11 oz Barlean's Pomegranate Blueberry Total Omega vegan swirl. value = $0.19 (8 oz $13.99) http://www.barleans.com/ - I tasted this plain and it wasn't very good. I mixed the rest into my yogurt and it was fine.  Easy was to get some omega's in the diet.

Full Size tube (.15 oz) Chocolat Lip Balm by Beeluxe. value = $3.00 http://www.beeluxe.com/

I also received a 20% of entire purchase coupon for The All Natural Face and a $2.00 off coupon any 16oz bottle of Barlean's Swirl.

I love that you get such a variety of items.  The total value of my box is $25.98 and I paid $15.  The nice thing about this box is if there is something you aren't crazy about you can gift it.  The candle, lip gloss and lip balm would be perfect stocking stuffer, hostess gift etc.

Verdict: I kept hearing really good things about eco-emi and now I see why.

***I pay for these subscriptions myself and am not any type of sponsor paid or unpaid for Eco-Emi.
