June Yumvelope

I recently found another monthly subscription company that is food related.  Yumvelope sends out a large USPS padded envelope filled with goodies every month.  The cost for this service is $21 a month with shipping included or you can sign up for their yearly plan at $228 for the year which brings the price down to $19 a month.  With that they promise to send a minimum of 6 full size items in each envelope.

The good:

Variety: There is a good variety of items.  A couple of the products I received I've tried before and like so I was glad I received them.

Discounts: The try and send a promo code for each product so you can order your favorite products at a discounted price.

Size: They send full size products which is always nice.

The not so good:

Price: The price is a little high but if they offer a good value then it could be worth it.

Contents of my June (first one) Yumvelope.

11.5 oz bag of Nature's Patch Love Crunch. value = $4.49 - This is so good.  It reminds me of a healthy cocoa krispies.  So addicting.

2 packages .6 oz. ea Barney Butter Almond Butter. value = $0.42/ea - I've had these before and love them. It's the perfect size to take with me to work and put on my english muffin.

2 oz. Off the Farm Blueberry Vanilla Energy Bar. value = $2.33 - This was just ok.  It had a little aftertaste that I can pinpoint but I didn't like it.

1.7 oz. Pure Organic Bar in Apple Cinnimon. value = $1.33

2 packets of Numi Moroccan Mint tea. value = $0.39/ea

Gnu Foods Cinnamon Raisin Bar. value = $1.69 - This is something I've tried before as well.  I like that it has a lot of fiber in it but doesn't taste weird.

I also received a discount code for 20% of Numi Tea.

The total value of this Yumvelope is $11.46.  ummm yikes!  That's $9.54 less than the $21 monthly fee or $7.54 less if you pay yearly.  As I said before a couple of dollars less is acceptable for the convenience of having items shipped to you but this much difference is unacceptable to me.  Also a lot of these items I've seen at my local stores which means I can buy them myself while I'm grocery shopping and save $9.  I'm not dissatisfied with the products but I don't think I should overpay for them.   I'm really hoping this was just a super off month for this company and next month will be better.  I believe in second chances and will give them once more chance but if next month is this low I'll have to say goodbye to Yumvelope.

Verdict: On the fence. stayed tuned for next months box.

**I am not any type of sponsor paid or unpaid for Yumvelope.  I purchase these monthly subscriptions myself.
