April Glam Bag

This week I received my April glam bag from My Glam.  For those of you new to here, My Glam is a monthly subscription program for beauty products. Each month you will receive 4-5 samples of different beauty products to try out. The cost is $10 a month with free shipping but they they have a yearly subscription rate for $110 which drops the price down to $9.16 a month. In order to get the yearly rate you have to pay the $110 up front.

The good:
The brands. They send out brands like Freeman, Urban Decay, NYX, Pur-lisse, Murad, etc.

The samples. I have received samples from brands I'm familiar with and have used before.  This month I received some faux eyelashes and I'm super excited to try them out.

The choice. You don't get to pick your samples which is great if you like surprises.

The packaging. It comes with a cute makeup bag for all your goodies.

You can cancel anytime with no penalties. Yearly subscriptions don't offer a refund but if you cancel they won't renew when the years up.

The not so good:

Skip a month? There is no option to skip a month. If you don't want to receive a bag that month you have to cancel your subscription and re-sign up if you want to start it up again. This could be a problem if there is a wait list to sign-up.

The price: It works out to $2-$3 an item which is reasonable for a couple of the items but a little overpriced for others.

The choice: You don't get to pick you items so you may end up with things that you might not use.

This months theme is Girls Night Out.  The bag arrived in their famous hot pink metallic mailer.  This is great packaging on their part, I mean who wouldn't be curious about a hot pink metallic mailer and who wouldn't love to receive one. click here if you would like to see a better pic of the mailer.

Contents: retail price for full size product in parenthesis.

Cute makeup bag in metallic pink

Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil in junkie (green) it's about 3/4 of a full size pencil - value 14.75 ($19.00 for full size) - I like this.  It' goes on smooth and the green color is complementary to my hazel eyes.

FULL SIZE (.21oz) Dermstore Lip Quencher - value $12 - I've been keeping this in my purse.  I'm not sure it's doing any plumping but it takes away the dryness.

1 pair of All-Belle faux lashes in natural length - value $2-$3 depending on where you purchase.

My glam pink eyeshadow brush - not sure on the value best guess $3-$5

My glam pink eyeliner brush  - not sure on the value best guess $3-$5

As you can see the full size cleansing foam valued at $12 which pays for the bag.  The total value of all items received is about $34.75-$39.75 not including the makeup bag.  This is a great value for me because I will definitely use the eyeliner and have been wanting to try faux lashes.

That's my April Glam Bag.  Much better than the March bag although I did up up using the Dermstore coupon which was $25 off a $50 purchase.  I bought an item that had a gift with purchase so my total would've been $100 if I had purchased both items but with the coupon from the March bag I paid $32.  Not a bad deal.

Verdict - I have a yearly subscription to My Glam so I will finish out my year and keep you posted but so far I'm enjoying the products.

**I pay for these kits myself and am not any type of sponsor paid or unpaid for My Glam
